  1. I feel like a nublet reading all this advice. We never do anything besides just AoE the second he goes invis first time, someone always gets hit by that attack. However, no one dies anymore unless I screw up with throwing my shield spell on everyone right when he goes invis.
  2. Imperial side you have to do Foundry and Boarding Party on normal before you can HM them. Word on the street is they are soloable @ 50, and take roughly 20-30mins. Outside of that, its a matter of choosing hard mode.
  3. I agree with having a World Chat, or level bracket chat. I think that would help immensely to some of the problems a few of you are having. Us Anti-LFG Tooler's aren't masochists, we aren't stodgy old MMO vets who think you youngin's need to toughen up, no - we just have experienced great games previously whose very MMO-fabric has been shredded by LFG-Tools. If you don't agree, or like OP responded.. (never played WoW) read up on it. Read up on the fact that several large review sites have quite long editorials commenting on why WoW's playerbase is plummeting - almost all of them correlate it with LFG tools and ezmoads. ):
  4. I'll only be gentle because you said "in my opinion". Your making blanket statements - and most of your frustrations quite obviously have to do with coming from ezmoad WoW - and not finding the same features here. You chaps could have all read before purchasing that this wasn't included, moreover - you could have read that BioWare doesn't like the idea of LFG finders ATM. No, instead you keep pushing your points, blatantly ignoring that you can't make friends, build a group by yourself of your own volition, add that good healer to friends list and schedule a FP run. No, you want instant gratification with little effort. If they acquiesce to you wobbly masses about the tool, the very next subject will be the difficulty of the HM's - basically because you chose to eschew the social aspects of "vetting" for again, instant gratification. Please learn how to "communicate" with others on a MMORPG, or wait until the game world is fractured and elongated enough for reasonable people to actually agree with you.
  5. I hear what your saying. Itemization is a problem. However, armor drops from bags (pvp) seem to have been drastically reduced. I think you will find it much more balanced in the near future as far as previously ezmoad pvpers showing up in PvE.
  6. I've made several staunch defenses against what your asking about. I tire of scolding you LFG Finding folks so I'll try to be more succinct. No.
  7. I guess to answer your first point - its entirely subjective. I seriously doubt you guys just floated through them with no problems, especially if your all "fresh 50's". I'd venture to guess your pretty much just trolling, considering if your guild is so "pro", you're not a "casual". You guys looked up strats, have done these dungeons before, or something. You offer nothing new other to say that the content is too easy for you. And like I said, I have serious doubts about fresh 50's facerolling Boarding party, esp. last boss(es). No there is no NMM for flashpoints. I have a question for you, if your guild is so pro, why are you even doing this? I'd just leap to 1shotting NMM EV, brah.
  8. Honestly, it's up to the other two DPS to pull in the damage required to mitigate enrages. Tanks need to make sure they're grabbing adds, maintaining aggro etc. Like someone suggested, DPS really need to have daily gear before getting toes wet in HM's - however, I did DPS (before going heals T_T) with mostly levelling gear, 106-112 stuff, and I did fine. It's really a matter of spec, rotation, and then gear.
  9. Done Fals Emp many times, got our warrior his tunic last night. We're premade group. Loot does change. -------------------------------- Please see the door on your left for emergency exit. );
  10. I dunno, he doesn't insta-gib anyone for me. But then again, I know as a healer I need to shield everyone when he cloaks up... Also - we don't have 11k hp because we actually spent time getting mods etc. to prepare for HMs. Like I said before, if your gripe is with the bugginess - I get you. There are things that are frustrating bug wise in game, however so soon after release I can deal with it. What I can't deal with is all you WoW-only kids who need your hands held through everything - and blaming "design" (Which no offense, you clearly are using this as a "keyword" that has very little to do with the reality of what your saying) for your woes. I hate to be a trolol.. but.. L2P? ):
  11. Honestly it's a tough call, reduced #'s required for raiding, I guess you could say more puzzle mechanics etc. Really it boils down to - guild relationship/friends - also, consider that WoW has oodles of content, most of it irrelevant end game wise until you catch up to whats all the rage. This game will undoubtedly have the same thing - but right now, the endgame is fresh. And one major argument I could make - WoW copied EQ in many ways with raiding, 40mans were the norm initially in WoW (Thanks Fires of Heaven) - but things changed. I see BioWare changing things up as time goes on - so it boils down to... do you like sabers/guns or staves/magic? (:
  12. Eh, I hear you OP. Most of BT is quite easy, as long as DPS interrupts and keeps up dps. We always seem to have last boss enrage a little bit on us, but as a healer I've mitigated initial enrage + 1shot leap by shielding everyone near the end constantly when able - usually prevents death, allows for us to finish. It's messy but doable - much easier than many of the other HM FP's in my opinion.
  13. Sorry some ppl don't play swtor like their Facebook account. Thank god, I'd loathe to hear how wasted everyone got, who hooked up with who, etc. from people whose names I don't even know. k? I didn't realize it was wrong to play alts. Or to play swtor without shooting the breeze. A bit judgemental are we? I'm not against alts man, or playing TOR as silent as a mouse. Sigh. I'm against you WoW-puppies asking, mewling, groaning over a feature that WoW introduced exclusively to a game that was out for over six years before they did so. (To the PVE stuff) Why? Because I believe WoW lost what little magic it held when it allowed the masses to experience everything in the game - with very little threshold. Before you tell me - "bro, i bot this game so i can exprence evrythgn if i cnt y spnd money bro ? trololololol" This isn't Skyrim, this isn't BF3 - or COD - it's a MMO. Its unique social dynamic is WHAT MAKES IT A MMO. blegh.
  14. What I said about servers vs community is that the reason servers exist isn't to create gated communities of players. They exist so that hundreds of thousands (or even millions) of players can play the game. This is basically a mode of sharding (the computer science concept). Communities might arise from these gated groups of people, if people in that group so desires to form a community (i suppose that means, being recognized in that virtual setting as "good/bad" player). Obviously you're not following You can look up the definition of community if you'd like, or you can keep supposing as to what its supposed to mean No one cares why it's done, it is what it is. Deigning to enlighten me as to why it is why it is, has absolutely no value to this conversation - thx I play flashpoints, as mentioned before, because I enjoy the co-op multiplayer game. I don't want to spend my time talking to these 3 other dudes on my party (at most, explain a boss fight to anyone that has not done it before). If you enjoy do that, good for you. Yes, rewards are better, but so is the enjoyment of a boss fight, at least, to me (as much as PVP is to some many other players, or meeting new people is to yet another group players). You keep saying co-op multiplayer like its supposed to be different than what MMO's are, again I'm confused. Are you saying your making a "co-op MP" experience out of a FP run that defies the community aspect altogether? GJ if so Moreover, you keep bringing up party chat like thats what we're talking about when we are decidedly against LFD/LFR - another thing that I've very little idea why your sticking to. The social implications from NOT having a WoW-type LFR/LFD are far more intricate than...group chat - bro. You have the audacity to call out others for not answering your "points" but you skip mine altogether and say that it's about enjoyment of a boss fight. Cool bro, cool. If thats so, why don't you just steamroll earlier FP's because you can get in many more boss fights that way (: As for the pseudo-casual part, that doesn't apply to me, sorry. Was 50 a week after release, I'm part of a large guild with several 16men Operations groups and, at this point, could gain pretty much nothing from HM FPs. I want the tool for my alts, so I can level up and run FPs as much as I can find free time too. I want the tool so people have the option to play the game whatever way they enjoy most. You finally reveal your stake in this game, and that is gearing your alts up without "wasting" time. Cool again bro (: Again your implying that actually talking to people bothers you, you want gear/lewt ASAP w/o the BS of dealing with the 99% (I had to use 99% ) Your anti-social, I get it. I just don't get why your anti-social tendencies need to be fought for on a decidedly social game, bro. Go buy Diablo2, or again - solo content. As for LFG meaning asking Bioware for easier content, I really have no idea what you are talking about. Neither the relation between manually forming a group and having the skill/gear to complete HM FPs Since it sounds like you never played WoW before they completely held your hand - allow me to illuminate what I am talking about. Manually forming your group, forcing people to actually.. *CHOKE* talk to people and network to get groups together to tackle the "hardest 1%" of the game - actually gives group an investment. It encourages team play, dealing with and communicating issues, not the classic WoW "F THIS IM OUT BROZ U SUCK" I mean really, why do I need to keep defending this? You obviously want WoW's systems implemented here because you - 1.) dont liek nubs 2.) dont talk to group chat *** lol? 3.) dont waste time bro, im playing a MP-Co-Op MMO experience, not a game. bro. ):
  15. Unfortunately right now I just set everything to low and that takes care of it - however, apparently the patch today significantly imrpoved things. Also, they are still working on fixing it apparently. ):
  16. Talk to the quest giver for said flashpoint, there will be an option to have the FP quest set to "Hard Mode" (:
  17. I'm sorry, but your technical mastery has me hoodwinked. Your saying if technology allowed only one server, there would be no community? Communities are natural, brodude. Lets get deep on this, if you don't care about your virtual community while playing a MMO, why the fudge do you care about running flashpoints? They reward better gear than your solo content right? Whats that gear do for you? Allow you to... Raid with a community? Or do you want Looking for Raid tool too? FFS, for pseudo-casuals who don't care "too" much about the game (or community in the game), you sure come up for alot of excuses as to why you should have a "me-too" mechanic. I guess what I'm saying is - by responding to you undulating masses wanting your ez moad FPs/OPs - you realize your quietly asking BioWare to make them much easier right? There's no way random people, who did not even take the time to /tell someone "i'll join you in Black Talon Hard Mode, I'm a tank!" - will complete current HM FP's more than 20% of the time.
  18. I'm in the same boat as far as playtime. I made friends levelling up, now we group and do HMs together. I guess I'm just weird like that, getting to know people, adding them to friends lists, things of that nature. I know WoW eliminated the need for spending time getting to know people, but try it. I don't think they should quit the game because they want a LFD tool and cannot for the life of them find decent people to do HMs with, I want them to stay - make friends, socialize, get groups going. Or, do non HM stuff, dailies, things like that. I guess what I'm saying is WoW created an army of undulating masses that want to experience all content, no matter the time investment, social aspects, or more recently skill. I come from EQ, where your reputation on a server was actually important, and you were required to get along with people to even "see" end game stuff. TL:DR, you a commie? (:
  19. Lol you think running a 16 man op is "easier" than the original 40 man WoW raids? Uh? Yes, a 16man Op is easier than 40 man MC/Ony raids... ty? You think there is more "community" in casual players getting frustrated in forming a group for FPs and end up soloing content or quitting? If by casual you mean, unable to take the time to make a few friends that they trust, gear up, free up several hours for hardmode dungeon crawls - then yes, please have them solo content or quit. Go sit at your Fleet and tell me about the "community" that current exists. Yeah I thought so. Okay?
  20. You made your point in the last part of your wall of text. Wait for your friends, HM's in this game are quite difficult, I think its intentional. Moreover, I am getting sick of people wanting what WoW has in their game. WoW has easy..easy dungeons now, there is no challenge really. Most of this stems from people actually doing them quite a bit and being familiar (which will happen to TOR in the near future) however it also has to do with HMs actually being a bit of a challenge here. Please stop asking for cake, take initiative - if you don't want to, by all means go back to WoW. Oh and community is lol, there is no community on WoW - only for elite guilds who compare e-peen progression. At least here people are getting known for their PvP skills, and "good" guilds will start getting recognition in PvE on a local level. *Edit* I know I'm being defensive, but overall almost every complaint these days (Besides valid ones, i.e. bugs, UI/Action Bar lag, PvP itemization) stems from the WoW generation.
  21. False Emp is republic... Replace Black Talon w/ Esseles. Honestly, HM's seem to be "easiest" based on what you're most experienced at. i.e., if you're running with friends who've done Kaon under Siege quite a bit, you'll probably have an easier go at it than if no one has done Foundry and you're just learning mechanics.
  22. Sounds like you miss WoW. Dudebro, you admittedly haven't played HM FP's. Moreover, your points at somewhat...lacking? It's great to have all/most instances accessible right from the fleet. But it's problematic that you have a lot of instances with quest-pre-requisites and stuff like that. I've seen "orange" portals more than once because people weren't "qualified" for a particular instance. Almost every FP has a quest that you need to pickup to enter. Guess what, its almost always near the flashpoint! You want it easier, like WoW - right? Thats what your basically implying. 2. Design Diversity is important, both visually and game-play wise. Yet the amount of flashpoints that use the same generic space-station layout is sad. It seems like 80% of instances are made up of these "interior" design templates and it's boring as hell. Since your being so subjective, in your "in-depth" design analysis of TOR... I will be just as subject and say instances are fresh and appealing, I've spent the last 10 years in dungeons and caves - bring on a spaceship. 3. Pacing Most flashpoints feel drawn out by the excessive number of trash-mobs. There are simply so many at times, it gets tedious quickly. Again, not having done hardmodes - it sounds like your making quite a judgment. Since your basing all of your designer-level experiences off of WoW - you realize WoW had slogs initially as well right...? Right? Not only that - since you haven't played these FPs very much, you don't seem privy to the whole "experienced" thing, i.e. if you've done it quite a bit - people start moving faster. Downing trash/reaching bosses comes at a much faster clip when you've actually spent time in them, try it. Gah, I can't even continue. Your ************ about trash mobs... Let me TL;DR this for you. You want a game that has crazy cool, but short, tunnels full of awesome setpieces NOT IN SPACE that has no "trash" mobs, where every boss has low HP but requires critical thinking puzzles that challenge you every time you play. I'm not even a fanboi, there are multiple areas where this game upsets me. They are concerned with UI/AB lag, bugs, and some end-game itemization. My gripes are contained within the world they created, but didn't optimize 100% - your gripes are a fantasyland of "wharz my WoW"?
  23. I agree that the pricing doesn't seem inline with the drops. One needs to be fixed... Which?
  24. Luckily I almost always only group with fellow guildies, which actually is good and bad. Can't leave cause I'm angry, but I can also have a long winded vent "advice" ramble about how we can beat X boss. However, I agree - gear is intertwined with skill. Both need to be worked on. What I don't get is people who spout "skillz all u nedd broh, steamrolln it cos im pro, in w34k gear" - If you're so damn skilled - why don't you go play a 100% skill based shooter or something?
