  1. I doubt anything they add could possibly be that in-depth. They'll just disable the /gendercheck and be done with it. That's what I'd do at least...that's equality right?

I like how the negativity in this forum comes from people believing what they assume to be fact.

We don't know how they'll implement it, so no point in treading there as if you're sure of it.

  2. For you maybe, but for some of us it is more like a 2 or less. Don't assume that just because you want something that its somehow the most important thing ever.

Don't get me wrong, I agree it should have been in at launch, but really? Its a 40?

Err, the person you quoted was saying SGR was a waste of time, unless I'm reading it wrong.

  3. "IT'S NOT SOMETHING I WANT HOW DARE THEY NOT FOCUS ENTIRELY ON WHAT I WANT RAAARGH!"

That's all the anti arguments are made of. New companions for the SGR is more story/companion content. There was an article on WoW Insider that most players don't raid (and it'd be even less if the real population of WoW was polled, considering those that read fansites are more invested in the game). Odds are more people would experience the SGR over more OP's, yet you hear nothing on how they're wasted dev time. Odds are the team that is working on game content isn't invested in bug fixing, and won't halt them any longer than it has been. So really it comes down to if you want SGR or not. Considering they've been working on it for awhile now, I really doubt they're gonna can it.

  4. Because that would make gaming sense, which I don't think there is much of around here for this development team.

    A sad truth.

Who says they aren't fixing things? Who says the team that is working on SGR is cutting into the bug fixing team? Who says they're even qualified to do anything else besides story content? We don't know, so we can't claim bad "gaming sense".

Good gaming sense would have a balanced approach on story content, endgame content, and quality of life improvements/bug fixes.

  5. I never said or even alluded to that. I said that people being so focused on one tiny, inconsequential tidbit is a little disturbing.

Who are the ones clamouring for same gender romances? People not playing the game or people playing the game currently?

I'd say that was a pretty heavy hint towards it.

If it matters that much to someone who their character is blackscreen-shagging with

Another assumption that's wrong. I don't care who's shagging with who, I just want more story content in general, and if it's fleshing out companions as well I'm all for it. Seeing as they have been working on this feature a long time already, they might as well finish it.

  6. IMO, those that are saying it's a "waste of resources" holds no merit. I'd bet more of the games population would go through the SGR content while leveling an alt or new player leveling the first time than the amount of people who would ever attempt hard/nightmare mode OP's or maybe OP's in general, yet you don't hear that they were a waste of resources. Just because you won't play through the content doesn't mean (there was a poll of WoW players on less than half raided, and that's I'd say SWTOR is even lower considering the game is story based) it's a waste. I'm pretty sure bug fixes and such are being worked on as well, they can't just forego all content to squash bugs this early in the game's life.
  7. Who are the ones clamouring for same gender romances? People not playing the game or people playing the game currently?

Does it matter? Like he said, your making the broad assumption that people already playing won't make new characters and that every new player (and those that are waiting for F2P) isn't interested in SGR. You'd be wrong on both fronts.

I myself have only a 50 Bounty Hunter and leveling a Sith Warrior atm. After that I plan on switching to the Republic and making a few over there.

  8. Your post is making the rather dubious assumption that there will never be any new players and that no existing player will ever create a new character.

Shh...don't bring sensible logic into this. They don't like that.

  9. So then .. unless they "rollback" all romance-able character's conversations .. are people really going to make entirely new characters and level them up past 40 or so JUST for a couple seconds of dialogue and innuendo?

That kind of obsession is a little disturbing.

With that thought process they shouldn't make lower level content period.

  10. the community has also asked for many gameplay enhancements that need to be down long before a romance change of any kind, ie advanced class dual spec, hood on/off, etc. as for shadows, my understanding is that that not only improves the graphics quality (of which there have been many complaints and requests for improvement) it also makes it possible to use shadows on the lower end systems, of which there have been requests for increased performance for lower end systems. So yes the community has asked for better shadows.

Your saying more people asked for better shadows than SGR?

And like I said before, I consider the story element of SWTOR the reason I play it over other games (along with a few others, of course). If you'd rather play an MMO that doesn't focus on story, there's tons of those already out there.

Besides, all signs point to them having done a lot of work on it already. Doubt they're just gonna scrap what they've done so far. THAT would be a waste of resources and time. IMO they can find a balance of game enhancements and story content along with the usual MMO stuff (OP's, FP's, WZ's, etc).

  11. aye couldnt agree more (with your somewhat confusing 'is he being poorly sarcastic' comment.

The game needs to focus on not-stupid stuff like same gender romance.

who really cares, deep down .. wouldnt you rather have a fixed and fun game rather than see two women kissing in a computer game. This is why people get so mad with Bio and quit their game, their focus isnt where it should be .. which is to respond to the majority of players .... not the minority.

please BIO, please concentrate on important stuff like game content/bug fixes/new races .. please dont spend any time on this foolish waste of resources, dont become blizzard. Please?

I want content along with the expected polishing of the game. I don't want "two women kissing in a computer game". I want more story and character/companion development. Bioware said themselves there only adding it with the right lore and story being put in behind it. Whether it's SGR along with continuing class stories, I don't care. Why? Because that's what I mostly play a Bioware game for; story. Whether your interested in more story and the like is your preference, but it is far from worthless content. We can just agree to disagree on where there priorities should go I guess.

  12. You seem to forget that SWTOR cost at least 200 million to develop, but total cost is probably over 300 million once you factor in advertisement and other expenses. It's a failure in that the game with a huge budget couldn't even keep half their subs and based on current trend may well be below the 500k or near that mark of subscribers, which in it's self is failure by swtor own statements when the game launch. Here is forbes report about EA and impact swtor has on EA. SWTOR is like the child that could have, but never amounted to any thing.

    http://www.forbes.com/sites/insertcoin/2012/07/19/five-reasons-ea-is-in-decline/

Players don't judge failure by if it made profit yet or not. You don't have stock in EA do you? I judge the game based on if it's fun or not. And obviously I'm not alone, as the game still has more subs than a majority of P2P games.

  13. I said this on another thread; saying that this game is dying well before F2P "releases" means nothing. Saying that the devs/company are silent before F2P seems to be the standard. Overall this game is still new, and it is impossible to see what exactly is going to happen in the next few months.

It's kinda humorous considering the fact the game is still in the top tier of sub numbers (at least after WoW) and has more subs than a good majority of MMO's this far in it's life. Did the game live up to Bioware's expectations in subscribers? No. Is the game a "failure" as far as MMO's go? Hardly.

  14. It's not pathetic, it is simply what bioware can offer at this moment, they are also working on other major improvements: makeb, f2p, new warzones. Everyone would like to have it "yesterday" but this is simply impossibile.

And people stressing bioware also before the announced release time is expired, are not helping anyone. At least do not complain before 1st october! ;)

Part of me thinks the reason why we're having such a huge gap in content is only for the loss of subs. They've had tons of layoffs since making that promise, and no doubt the offices are in a mess. Hopefully once they get settled down to a manageable team size that they can support with lesser subs they can start pumping out the content.

  15. For you perhaps, for some of us it's no. 1.

Seems to be a big thing to a lot of players as it's brought up often judging to there reactions in the video I linked. Soon as the question came up they go on to say "We never heard this" sarcastically, and say they can't give an update each time it's asked based on how frequent it is.

  16. This year is looking more and more like a bridge too far.

Yea, I can pretty say with certainty that most of the stuff they had planned for this year was pushed back a few months because of the team restructuring and layoffs. Just hope it wasn't canned entirely.
