  1. Secured, I agree with that we are not gimped, but those examples, yea, not so much. KB is sad. But it is a 11+2 talent (not a 31 pt) so it should be sad. Let's put it this way, the change in KB doesnt make 1.2 good. If it was a smart heal, they might get a thank you for that, but adding an additional body, not even worth mentioning. Is KB a highlight of our class? No, it is like the fat girl at last call that you are chatting it up with. Armor screen is terrible for how high it is in the tree. RS is good, but not great. See Sentinels if you want great. Our knockback is decent at best, but no ones is great. A well played CM can be a game changer. There were very few good ones pre-1.2, now there are even less.
  2. I do find humor in some of these posts, especially when we turn on ourselves. I mainly PvP, however did the OPs/ HM OPs (paired with a sage healer; we got a Scoundrel healer to take my spot before the NM modes). To be accurate, I am extremely disappointed in the upcoming changes. There has been talk since beta about bettering our healing. Other than KB (which I don't think should be on par with 31 pt talents) and combat rez (seriously, 2 classes got it and it is on a timer, do you really need a third?), I thought CM was solid. We were the big boys that did the heavy lifting, while the finger wigglers & dudes in capes and tights took all the credit and put up the fancy numbers. I really have been lucky in the sense that I have played with most of best pvp sages/ healing scoundrels on our server. The sages numbers almost always make mine look silly. Probably the highlight of my weekend, was talking to our sages, and they even said they couldn't believe the proposed changes to the CM. Everyone plays this game differently, for different reasons, and everyone has an opinion. I am not all about hugging it out, but everyone needs to put their big boy pants on and lets get through this mess. We aren't the first class in this mmo that has been nerfed into the ground, and I guarantee we will not be the last. PS Typheuss, I agree with you 100% on the ammo issue. Sorry for the edit, your post went up while I writing this.
  3. People leave out the fact that experience in pvp in this game is something you cant measure. Pre-valor increase patch, the small group of people i ran with, were a 95%+ win ratio. We would run alts through etc, gear wasn't the issue, experience was. Most of our mains were pushing Conqueror status pre-valor change, that is a lot of games. Gear wasn't the difference, executing was. The current gear system is ridiculously easy, one of our guys leveled a toon to 50, within 4 days full champ. If you want the gear you can get the gear, which is how it should be. The other super power/ secret skill that people don't often take into account: not being a derp. With play time comes experience, comes doing things better/ more efficiently, etc. Anyone that has pvp'd knows what I am talking about. We have all seen, "undergeared" people crush a geared derp (see what happens when you don't make people earn their gear?), that scrub then comes and cries on the boards about nerfing people. It's all just a vicious cycle. But keep on handing out the shiny objects, and people wont ***** much.
  4. Thats right, the rated is more prestigious. You can work for it, rather than just derp it out for the same stats. Just like with Valor ranks: prestigious titles, lead warzones, and have access to cool vehicles. Oh wait that doesn't work either, because it is now raining valor. Yea I give up, I cant come up with a point on the positive side. Obviously, though if BW thought it was a good idea, it must be genius!
  5. Sorry Norr, I need to disagree. I agree there are two schools of thought, but disagree with it being the newer breed being the ones that are happy. Unless you came up in games such as Ultima Online or others pre-EQ and very few since, chances are you are one that thinks time= gear. We can go into history of the retardary in regards to changes in all these games to cater to the majority of their clientele, and lets call it what is it, its a business. I am an old codger (in regards to MMOs) Vs most of the people playing, I can tell you how I was BM pre-changes to Illum and the exploits happening down there, it all doesn't matter. Never have worn my WH title either, just not my deal. I want all the people that cry about gear/ titles/ my trooper is a type 4 body, to get what ever advantage they need/ feel entitled too. Why you ask? Because it makes their tears ever so sweet as they find something else to cry about. PS BlueTick, dont feel bad, Rank 75 and only got my gear finally wrapped up on Patch day. With comms change, you will have it soon enough. Good luck!
  6. I <3 this thread along with the 63 page one before it!
  7. I had always thought people knew these three rules to being a healer. They were highlighted on page 2 of the Healer Handbook. It is in the section right after: "Why asking for a heal during the fight is always a bad idea" 1) If the tank dies, it is my fault 2) If I die, it is the tanks fault 3) DPS dies, it is their own fault Sounds like most of you guys have a rule three situation going on
  8. While I can appreciate what you are trying to say Bob, anyone in this game can get 50 and BM with time, skill has nothing to do with it. And they are making it easier! Hooray for more bads thinking they are good due to reaching the BM mark! Just my two cents on the main topic. I personally don't 1v1 anything, I am CM spec Valor Rank 74 on The Harbinger. However, I have only run with two other commandos that were good (think about how many WZ that is and how many commandos have been in there). They both have played Gunn and AS. Neither one of them have ever complained about their roles or abilities. IMO, where we get lost in this game is that people want to be the derp 1v1 people saying look at me, "I am billy ******!" Fact is, we all have our bane classes. If you are getting 1v1 by anyone, chances are you are doing it wrong.
  9. I really am thankful for so many bads playing combat medics so we can continue to see buffs. We all know the bads get buffed, so they will be mediocre. I am already OP as a healer, and just getting better with any additional buffs. Sure there are some changes I would like to see, but they are mostly minor and not game changing. Btw everyone that keeps comparing KB to Salvation... you realize that it is an 11pt (13 pt if you spec into residue) Vs a 31pt talent right? If you think they should be equivalent, you are being unreasonable.
  10. Not to sound like the ******* in the room, but all the people QQing about us (this is more than just this thread), stop playing Commandos. Go role a sorc/ sage or some other finger wiggler/ tight wearing type class, I hear they are OP like that.
  11. Yea I raid with our guild as 31/8/2 spec. Since we cant dual spec, I also PvP with it as well. Any changes I would "like to see" would imbalance us. If Bomb was unlimited targets, we would be crazy out of control OP, yea it is lame it is only 3 people, but anymore would be silly. When we raid, I run with a sage as our other healer. We do very well together. He covers the AE heals, I do the heavy lifting (<3 Rowling), and we both cover splash heals. We both have close to the same AIM/ Willpower. There is a synergy there. One of us without the other wouldn't be near as effective. When I see talk about them improving our healing, I get giddy as a school girl. It means that the Bads are overrunning the devs with complaints. I would put up trooper healing Vs any other class healing in game. Part of the problem is that one of the few ways to measure healing is to look at WZ score boards. So when the poor troopers are looking at their 100K healing Vs the Sage with 300K healing they think they are gimped. On The Harbinger, I have seen only two good Medics (I have played more than a couple WZ's...). I don't think it is the class that is gimped, I think it is more the caliber of players that gravitate to troopers and statistics would indicate with a larger pool of people, the higher probability we have more bads. If it is like that on our server (Heavy pop), I am guessing that it is likely that all the other servers are like that as well. -Roman The Fat Trooper Afflicted; The Harbinger
