  1. Look all over this thread, buddy. You've told at least a dozen people that they "don't need" certain gear. You are aware that this is a video game, right? No one NEEDS anything from it, it's all something we want to get. There isn't any parity between a video game and the real world, trying to moralize your stance on gearing in a video game as the morally just position to have in life is, yet again, elitist. "Disagreeing with my stance that only the people I deem worthy should have the best gear in a video game would lead to the world around us devolving into chaos!"
  2. But he's not misrepresenting anything. You feel entitled to the system changing to support the way you play the game because you believe yourself to be more elite than other players, and thereby more deserving. You even believe yourself so much better than others that you can determine what gear they can want to have. It's the definition of elitism.
  3. Because it's a video game, and making numbers go up in video games is fun? Why do you get to determine what I need? If you're the best of the best who can clear NiM raids without NiM gear, why do you need anything over 326? Are you ready for something you elitists seem to miss: This is a video game. No one needs anything in any video game. It's ALL a matter of want.
  4. This is what BioWare thinks will settle concerns? Everything here makes the ideas seem worse as a solo player. Timegating mods for months is, in fact, preventing me from modifying my gear. If you then unlock mods for raiders earlier than everyone else, you are, in fact, preventing anyone but raiders from modifying their gear. You do understand that these portions are directly at odds with your stated "philosophy", yes? I will not be able to modify my gear until an unspecified date to which you won't even commit, and taking away the advantage of gear in any capacity in solo content defeats the entire purpose of pursuing gear in any form as a solo player. If all gear levels over 318 are irrelevant, and mods are going to be locked behind months of waiting, your stated philosophy fails outright. As a solo player, not only will I not be able to change the stats on my gear, but any item level advantage I may have had to compensate for how terribly optimized the gear is on the PTS will be scaled down. So I will ask now for the third time: What do I, as a solo player, have to "look forward to that makes [my] characters stronger" after hitting item level 326?
  5. Just circling back to this after over 250 comments, will we be hearing from the Bioware team in this thread? It's not boosting my confidence that this announcement has caused huge outcry and Bioware is ignoring the reaction. I would very much like to know: What will I, as a solo player, have to "look forward to that makes [my] characters stronger" when I hit item level 226 and can't even modify my gear? How does that philosophy from the article relate to this definitive end point at which I can't even move my stats around because I don't enjoy raiding and my body doesn't allow the multiple hours of commitment? From my side of the exchange, reaching 226 is the opposite of something to look forward to, as it marks the end of me having anything to pursue.
  6. I was so excited for this expansion that I re-subscribed when it was announced, but this is making me doubt that decision. The current gearing system is the most accessible you've had, and now you're doing a total inversion by making it punishing for everyone but your highest-end players. I don't play operations because I find SWTOR to be more fun solo, taking away my ability to mod my gear because I don't enjoy operations isn't going to get me to play operations, it's just making the way I play the game less fun. This design choice is directly at odds with your stated philosophy in the beginning of your Itemization article. "Whether a player is here for the story or to take on the most powerful challenges in the galaxy, we want there to be something a player can look forward to that makes their characters stronger." As a solo player, what do I have to look forward to once I hit item level 226? I can't even get item mods to tweak my own stats. These changes make sure that there will actually be a definitive point at which there is nothing more for me, as a solo player, to "look forward to that makes [my] characters stronger".
  7. I have a feeling that this game will follow WoW's footsteps. As in they release an expansion, update everyone to the new patch in which whatever world changes are made, and charge for the access to the special content i.e. new race, new planet, new gear, etc. Bioware announced that they'd be revamping PvP, adding the Cathar, and adding a new planet. And as none of those have been released, those would be the most likely items to release in an expansion pack. But odds are those items will come with patches and Bioware will come up with some idea of new items/classes/races/planets and release a pack including those. But who am I besides a consumer that knows what he wants? *cough**cough* jawa as a playable race *cough**cough*
  8. There should be some way for customer support to check my FP/ops history and see this, and provide some type of compensation for screwing me twice in one week.
  9. I tried getting the person who greeded both the columi unassembled and boots, but they couldn't trade it.
  10. Wednesday or Thursday(I don't remember which), I was running The Foundry on Hard mode, there were tons of glitches, the main being the droids falling through the geometry, but we reached Revan, we had him down to ~27% and I DCd, now when I reconnected, Revan was dead and I was not eligible to loot. This happened to me again an hour ago on KP SM, only this time Karagga was down to 6% health when I DCd, and yet again, I was not eligible to roll. Is there a way that I can get the unassembled master force boots and mainhand? Or did I waste my time on both of those? I don't mean to seem whiney, but since 1.4 was released I've had more issues than I had during 1.1
