  1. HA!

    You think listing is lazy?

I just sell to the nearest vendor.

Sometimes I'm even too lazy to do that - I just delete items if I want to pick up a mission reward, even though the vendor is 10 feet away :)

It's crass to be worried about money frankly darling ;)

  2. I wouldn't go that far.

Their stock interface is very nice and I would love a lot of the stuff from the basic AH UI to come here.

But for it to be perfection?

I wouldn't need all the mods I do to make buying and selling a lot easier.

    And that there's the point.

Having thousands of people creating add-ons gets you where you want to be WAY more effectively than giving some overworked in-house programming team yet another low-priority job.

WoW without add-ons is nothing special really, but with add-ons it becomes your personally-tailored interface.

  3. I PvP'd for 4 hours last night, as well. I did not do anything on Ilum other than PvE dailies... strictly solo queue warzones. Being a decent player, I won most of my matches and had a lot of fun. Who gives a crap about whether they all counted as quest wins?

Apparently there are people who DO give a crap.

Different opinions eh - what a strange concept...

  4. Seriously stop joining a PUG if you are going to be a little baby and quit half way through a warzone because were losing. Either find a premade group (then again your probably not good enough to be in one) or grow a set. Their is nothing worst then a quitter (except an afk'er) I'd rather have a level 10 on my team then one of you pansy 50's who quit in the middle of a warzone.

    heres another pro tip

those complaining and crying are usually no better then the ones they complain about in the first place.

Ah, thanks - I'll get right on and ignore you then...

  5. heres another pro tip

those complaining and crying are usually no better then the ones they complain about in the first place.

Therefore you are probably a pvp leaver, because you complained about them right?

    Right?

    Thought so.

Oh, what - you don't like your own opinion applied to you?

    Is that because it's a stupid opinion...or because you're a hypocritical pvp-leaver? You choose.

  6. If someone annoys me, I'll roll on their class stuff, delete it from my inventory and tell them.

If I pity someone I might pass on my own class stuff for them.

Sometimes I just help people and give them everything that drops.

The only justification I need is how I feel at the time. Try admitting it's the same for you.

Instead of making up all kinds of imaginary rules, social contracts and moral codes that you sometimes pretend to live by.

    Hmm?

  7. Less competition on class loot and equal chances to gain any other loot. It's less unpredictable and it allows you to gear your character first. If there are four different classes then all of them get 100% on their class gear. Everybody benefits. Your groups have fair chances, but it's decided by random roll on everything that will drop. Not something I like. I simply want bigger chances on my class loot than compete with random number of players selecting random loot choices. It's that simple. Same goal but different ways.

For you "class" = main toon only

For others "class" = toon + companion

  8. Will you roll for a sage orange item if there is a sage in your group? Can you answer this with a yes or no instead of a "Benefit my character." reply?

Here is the thing...certain items CAN'T be used by certain people. Certain people have more use for certain items. Thus the NGP system was created.

In my groups everyone gets equal chances on every item that they can use...

I believe he was very clear on this.

YES if he wants the item.

Now will you answer him on his question - do people get to make their own choices in your group or do they only get to roll when YOU say so.

"Own choice" / "My choice" as answer please...

  9. If you are against combat logs and parsing, you are straight up bad. You are scared of people seeing your numbers, because you are infact the reason that we need them.

I'm not going to get sucked back into this again today, but fear is what makes people say, "OMG WE DUN NEED ADD ONS!" (which btw, no one here even suggested add ons. Combat logs are not add ons, and parsing them doesn't require one either.)

    Fear...anger....hatred....

    Dark side!

Why such fear though? If you suck, don't you want to know it so you can get better?

Cowardice = giving in to your fears

Courage = confronting the cause of them

  10. ... If you're using Tracer on someone inside 10m, it says more about you as a player than the person you're using it on...

Except it does the same damage point-blank as at 30m.

Best dps rotation for merc is same at 0m as 30m, so why change it?

Says more about you actually, that you argue about stuff you don't understand...

  11. You can only have 1 saved up, they are exclusive.

Talk about "read up a bit before you post".... sheesh.

He means you can have 1 bought, and 1000/1000 Warzone/Mercenary commendations stored and ready to buy 5 more immediately.

Like many, MANY posters have already said.

You are the one who needs to read up a bit more...

  12. Actually...

Why DO we have damage/kill numbers in warzones?

The point of the warzone is to WIN not pad your damage numbers, so why base any medals off dps/kills/heals?

What if Warzones gave medals based on:

    - time for door bust

    - fewest losses/retakes of caps

    - fastest scoring

    - <add any non-damage/heal-score related item here>...

Either go the whole way and have damage meters, or get the "dps is king" mentality out of the game.

And if you want to test/refine your rotation, can't you get a reasonable idea by working with a friend in a duel or by repeat-killing the same champion/elite mobs?

  13. My merc pyrotech does slightly more dps on Corellia pve elites than when I used tracer-spec (I tested). And the same thing when I tested damage on my 500 expertise powertech buddy.

Plus, in pvp pyro is totally mobile plus all attacks are 30m (I never stop running except to hit unload for a split second to proc railshot - then move immediately if it fails).

Its a ton more useful in warzones as a result of the movement freedom and the dot mechanic (preventing caps and killing fleeing players when they think they got away), and you feel like you have way more impact on the result of your fights (not just cycle through a standard rotation and either the target out-dpses you or runs and manages to LoS you).

And to top it off, when I switched it took me about 10 matches to start beating my tracer-spec dps in warzones, and now I do around 50% more while also being more benefit to the team.

    Now...Powertech

Just for your info, I have 200 expertise and 14k hp. My powertech buddy has 17k hp and 500 expertise. In our tests it takes me 18 seconds to kill him in my best rotation (about 1100 dps). He kills me in 8 seconds (1750 dps). (gear has some effect of course)

Powertech are beasts and frankly I've been wishing I'd rolled one since I got tired of tracer. Most of my pyro fighting is done at way under 30m, and a lot is at point-blank range, so I wouldn't worry about the 10m range Powertech attacks being a problem, and wouldn't let that be the decider for your choice of AC.

  14. It's totally random from where I sit.

Ultimate medpac (lvl 48) over 25 tries to get it from green to blue. (full cycle of all companions, then got it a few tries later)

Popped to purple on the first RE :)

  15. The big problem here is that we are talking about a stealth class and what you described is EXACTLY how they should be fighting. If we are having stealth classes in this game. We do, and I think we should then they need to be able to do this. Now I accept that not all players want to fight this kind of enemy. That is why we have PVE servers.

Human nature may dictate that players hate stealth classes when they stab them in the back but that does not justify a nerf. Stealth classes are often hated. In fact many that use those tactics enjoy the power they feel over their targets.

Have you considered tactical options? Even as simple as fighting in pairs?

There are many valid combat tactics that can be used.

Getting killed. Having a cry then coming to the forums demanding a nerf is not the way to go.

I like your reply. Refreshingly uninsulting :)

    1. Yes, this is how a stealth class operates. I believe that if the stealth class either stunned OR did a big opener, the feeling of unfairness would reduce and the nerf cries would lessen. Imo its bad design/balance on Bioware's part.

    2. Tactics - I agree these are the main reason people win/lose in pvp. When my powertech buddy drags you to us, you are probably dead. When I get dragged to acid, I am dead <shrug>.

    3. "Enjoying the feeling of power" indicates the problem - its a feeling of power that the victim doesn't like, so they retaliate the only way they can: by demanding nerfs. Human nature.

A fair few years in management has taught me that if its facts vs perception - perception wins every time. I think you are wasting your time trying to persuade people that the way operatives kill is justified or numerically balanced - it FEELS unfair, like the operative has all the power, and one tactic people use is to cry nerf until Bioware steps in and takes the feeling of unfairness away.

  16. Here's what actually happens:

...Let me ask you this: If I manage to navigate my way through a battlefield to an unprotected and unshielded healer in the back and use two abilities that are on long CD, do I not deserve to win that battle?

Here is the basic issue - you (the operative) say "Yes".

The other players (your targets) say "No, no-one deserves a 1v1 kill unless they outplayed them in a fair fight".

If I went over to a republic area and caught a lvl 30 fighting a mob I'd have a guaranteed kill - but the community calls that "ganking", and its not seen as fair.

YOUR skill requirement was in getting to them undetected, but the target feels they didn't have a fair chance to fight back - THEIR skill doesn't matter, so they feel you ganked them.

You probably don't kill any MORE people than they do, but in your own words each of those deaths is very, very likely - and the target feels ganked :)

Human nature should tell you that it won't fly for long...

  17. The problem isnt on the end of BW, its the new folk that doesnt go to the servers which are made for them.

They do queue at the full ones instead of the new light ones. Blame then but not BW, they did what they could :(

    1. Maybe they wanted to join their friend (like the first server I joined in early access). Normally in an mmo no issue as you join at the same time, but early access unintentionally means you join full servers (my friend and I already re-rolled from a server because of this)

    2. Maybe they saw the server and it said "light", because thats what they say when players are not logged in. It doesn't say "server full just no-one on right now"

    3. BW should be able to lock servers from new people joining. Maybe they can raise server caps so it's ok - then raise them already.
