  1. I find that people complaining about servers and game at this point somewhat humorous. No not the long waits and not the frustrating length to get on server. Just the general aspect of the fact that the tremendous amount of man hours and personal sacrifices that are being made to get this on and right. OK I am going to say the nasty word " Blizzard" could never have done it. I have seen expansion crashes that took the servers out for days and people raged on but they played. The game hasn't even technically launched and here we are playing and that is possibly a million or more players. I know without a doubt that behind the scenes hundreds of people are working hard to make it all run smooth. Meetings are taking place. There are no days off for some and the hours are 16 a day or more 7 days a week, their Christmas schedule is going to be hectic and for those working I thank you. We have some glitches in the game that are going to have to be worked out. " nasty word" promised there fans an Item in an expansion pack and it still hasn't happened 2 years later. I am sure there are techs somewhere warming up servers and looking at log in and instance ( story line area) issues. There are programmers trying to get shading and bugs worked out and the list is most probably Hell-a-ciously long. I posted a Wal-Mart order issue a few days ago and after many phone calls to various agencies within Wal-Mart and Fed-Ex the Game has been shipped and on their way with tracking numbers. So if you have friends that ordered through Wal-Mart. Let them know. I know I am not going to get to attached to my character. More servers will have to come online. There is no choice if Bioware wants to keep subscriptions. People have choice and they won't live with hassle and waits to play. an MMO can go from 5 million to 4 in a month and dwindle from there. They are also going to have to rethink there game strategy. MMO is not like a box game. A MMO character has hundred of hours invested in it and you are attached to it. If you aren't, you probably are not an MMO player. Bioware / whoever is going to have to accept the fact that toons / avatars / characters are going to have to be customizable. Name change, spec change, race change, skill change. How they do it they are going to have to work that out. It will have to be done or they won't be in the big time. No one is going to want to spend 1000 hours and not play it because it is wrong spec for group. They may be sick of the name, guildies and friends may have same and higher skills, or the color of there skin. Bioware will in essence be telling a players that they will have to roll another character to 50 so that they can play with their friends. Makes for a hate relationship The nasty word learned this long ago and still makes stupid mistakes like generating an expansion to a new market and losing there old. They lost me with a Panda. I mean really, mingtohaha the killer panda. Sheesh
  2. The thread was started to inform all players that ordered Wal-mart pre-orders that they would be delays in receiving their games according to customer service at walmart.com. My issue for this thread was that SWTOR directed potential players to Wal-Mart to procure copies of the CE. However, no one took into account that the 43,000 orders (approximation) would not arrive until the end of December. Playing early is not really the key here. It is the no access until end of December possibly. No one knowing for sure the status. As I stated on original thread I will play the early access ( we all got charged for that key) and cancle my CE and get a digital download for the game on the 20'th. So if 43,000 CE's got cancled that would be "NOTICEABLE". I have a suggestion for Bioware and Walmart. Why don't you package and label all the boxes to be shipped and take the serial numbers and email us our keys. We all know that each CE is serialized and that the serial can be matched with a key. Oh well two days before i have to make a decision.
  3. Contacted Wal-Mart about game order. I wanted to know the delivery date for early access. Was assured by customer service that game would not ship prior to 12/20/11. With holiday mail backed up and Christmas season, game may not arrive until after Christmas sometime. Stephen Reid said that Wal-Mart per-orders would be covered and we would be allowed access. That is the only reason I didn't cancel my order and go with brick and mortar. I will cancel in two days and go with a digital download, if I can't gain early access as advertised. Wal-Mart was presented as a retailer to meet the needs of gamers shopping to purchase SWTOR by http://buy.swtor.com/us/ . It is where I shopped and was linked to Wal-Mart because they were the only ones left with a version I wanted. What will Wal-Mart and SWTOR do? Any conjecture?
