  1. I have had this problem and I put in a ticket but have yet to be contacted and it has been over 24hrs. Having read and reread the thread and finding no other answers in the forums, I have come to a possible conclusion. With the armors, I have found that you must collect em with the original character that bought it and they must still have all the pieces that came with the armor-like say you bought the set and sent some of the pieces to other characters-at least that is what I saw one post say. Suppose the system is treating the Tauntaun like an armor purchase because it comes with speeder piloting I? I already had speeder piloting I but I used it just the same. Suppose you need to collect it before using the piloting I so that the system considers it a full set like the armors? It is the only thing I can think of, but I'd have to purchase the tauntaun again to check my theory. I'm not about to do that. -Vandis
  2. Awww. I'm sorry. I didn't put up the proper pvp thread. I'll change that and make it appropriate...... Ahem... Whiiine ***** moan...'too many stuns'......QQ-scream-complain...'resolve bar don't work right'....Nerd Rage-lose my mind...'classes are not balanced/L2p'.....gripe-tantrum....'Maur./Sents are over powered'......blah, blah, blah, 'bring back my centurion PvP armor', shout-climb up on cross...'This class is FoTM and broken'...blasey blah...choke die/rage quit.....'1.3 broke my toon.' Better now? Sorry to have posted something about PvP that was a bit more positive for a change. We now return you to your usual griping and belly aching....already in progress. Warbride
  3. Naristia of the Empire. I have not had so much fun against another person in PvP and being on a rp server, I intend to incorporate that into having that character as my character's rival in her background. Thanks for the great fights. I really enjoyed em. Though I died. more than I won. Mental note.....don't fight a healer without heal stims of your own. And Mercs are dps and hurt a lot. LOL. See you on the Battlefield. Warbride will be watching for you. ) Have fun.... Warbride
  4. [This threw off his whole rant about hating quitters and put into light that he is one of the bads who sits there and hero it up in the corner trying to 1v1 everybody while the objectives are getting capped by the enemy. ~~ So you have seen me do this? You know this for a fact then? Or are you just assuming? This was no argument. It was a rant. You don't agree, then don't agree. But don't act like you know how I play if you have never even been on a team with me. Scrutinize my words all you will, but to draw a conclusion of character based solely on your own interpretation of my words is going too far. You have neither right nor basis to call me a bad player in any way. Otherwise, prove it.
  5. The most important thing in any match (besides winning) is getting 8 medals. If I have to defend a base to get them, so be it. Hmmm, about these 8 medals you speak of.... I would hear more about them. I never paid much attention to the medals and what they are actually for or worth.
  6. For the sake of letting the horse die, let the thread die. It's your money, play how you want. If I am on your team, you are free to assume whatever you wish about me, but I am there to help my team win, and if we can't win, then at least I will attempt to rack up a body count before the game ends. That gets me exp. and that gains me levels and money. Rankings and special armor will come as a by product there of. I am in recruit armor now, I won't get the next set till 40 so I don't worry about it. I will keep doing me, and I will continue to hold disdain for quitters, cowards and leeches. I vote for the people who work hard to try to win, and I don't even look at my score or damage output or anything else, just my exp. I simply fight to win and move on. Just know this, if I am your enemy, you won't catch me dancing on a node/turret with a bunch of other leeches. Keep tight, don't slip and don't stray. If given the chance to catch you away from your people, you are meat. Ebon Hawk Warbride-Vanguard Ruin-Maurader Risq-Sniper /end thread
  7. play smart. continue to jump into your death is not pvp. everything the OP says basically paints him to be one of those unthinking pvpers that gets the red mist, and doesn't have any situational awareness aside from what's in his sights - great if he's on the ball carrier, but would be a whole lot better if he could set his sights on the healer that's chain healing the carrier. Really? So, you got that all from what I said, eh? You really think you know how I play and can safely assume what you wish about me, eh? I am that guy that looks at the chat waiting for the leader or whoever to say which node or Turret to assault, or who is the healer they want us to focus on. Then when I follow the directions to attack said healer/node/turret, I die and look up and there are 5 or 6 red names around me while I am on the ground and no green names nearby. I look at the map and the greens are all over the place like runaway chickens. So, I figure, they must have gotten killed before I got there. I come back still following the last order of attack given, and the same thing happens. If I have 6 people killing me, what they hell are the other 7 people of my team doing against the last two of their team? If I keep 6 busy, at least have the guts to kill the two left and take a node/turret. But when I look up, I see 5 to 7 people just standing at a turret/node doing nothing. The others are either stuck behind the force wall or standing nearby hiding and watching. Guarding? That's what it is called, eh? Well, riddle me this...if you are too weak to defeat any of the other team and take their turret/node what makes you think you will successfully guard your last one from them if they want to come and punk you for it as well? Objective based my ***. You leeches just found another way to go easy mode in a PVP Warzone and get what you want without actual confrontation. Congratulations. When you hit 50 and got all you wanted from easy mode and face a real team that drops boulders on your head, what will be your excuse for standing at a node then? People cry in the industry that they want PVP in these games. I always stood against it. Now, you have pvp, but found a way to avoid the actual PVP part citing objective base game play. Then why even bother with PVP in the first place....why all the threads QQ'ing over stunlocks and GCD's and damage mitigation of roles and what class is FOTM and what class is OP and needs nerfing.. Its like they say now, every kid gets a medal at the end of a game, winners and losers. If you can lose and still get something out of it, why fight at all. Just go into a match, and all 8 of you run to one node and sit it out. See how long PVP WZ's last after that. I won't get into my tactics with you, but I will tell you this....I don't just jump into 6 to 8 people alone. But if I am alone, no matter where I go, 6 to 8 people go there to kill me so if I jump one person on the way to check out a node, I die and look up and see 6 or more standing over me, then that's that. I got 6 or more people on me because everybody else on my team has stepped aside and not done anything to keep anybody else on that team busy at all. So, tell me, all you people who say I'm just a dumb DPS'r only good for attacking the ball carrier. How do you feel when you are sitting on that node and the entire other team is standing at the tunnel and mid entrance dancing and taunting you?
  8. Then I i type "start" in /guild when they enter combat. You can tell by watching them in the ops bar by either their force or hp bar moves. At this same time, I start counting one-potato, two-potato, and then I type /end when they die. I then tell my guild PVP hero died in 12s, 18s, or 30s. Some of laugh, I always do. If its like that, then instead of watching him fly by and die, why not stand next to him and fight as well. If each of you thought along that line, then perhaps, just maybe, you may turn the tide of battle, or at least get kills that equal experience. I am not a pro. I am only level 24 and ranked 32 in the non ranked pre-50 WZ. So, I am not one of those Pro's who is a hero, but I did not come to quit. I am not saying don't use tactics, or get objectives....read what I wrote in my rant. It is against giving up! How do you think these pro pre-made teams got so good? Standing around? No, they used tactics and battled, honing their skills and abilities to work together until they are a well oiled machine. Fine, you people who will stand around and simply watch a PVP Hero pass by to die alone while you get easy medals, I'll be on the speeder right with him, and one day there will be others. And if we then pull out a Win, don't you dare comment. Its easy to point and laugh at someone trying to take on the other team alone...but why not join in the fight and help them instead? Or better still, write the universal sign on the boards for "We just want medals!" so that when seen, both sides can just quietly walk to a node and stand for medal collection. No fighting at all. That easy mode enough for ya'll? QQ' some moar? Are you kidding me? I'm out there fighting and dying, but still fighting and your shivering in your panties with fear cuz 'I just can't win it all'? You cowards and leeches had better hope I never get to be pro at this. Your tears and suffering will be sweet...and Legendary at my hands.
  9. Okay, don't get me wrong on this...I understand you need to complete objectives in this game to get a win, but if all you are concerned is those objectives to the point that all you do is mathematically decide you can't win, then stand around and suck up medals, you are not winning anyway. I said from the beginning...IF you can't beat 'em, kill 'em. If you are gonna lose anyway, why stand around? Suicide you say? Why would anyone go to a PVP Warzone with no intention of fighting? Watch sports much? How pissed off would you be if your team looked at the scoreboard saw they still had zero points and the other team was in the double digits, and decided to pack it up and leave even before halftime...or you watched your favorite player get nuts in his mouth while getting dunked on and so he stays on the bench for the rest of the game talking to sponsors for commercial deals and hiding from the Sports Center Reel that will run him getting 'nuts in mouth' dunked on? I have played in a match where we were in CW and the other team had 8% shields and we had 100% shields. We had West and East nodes and they had South. We had fought very hard for what we had and it was one of the best games I ever played. But suddenly, and without warning...dunno if people quit and were replaced by pro's on Vent. or what...that other team came alive like viscous mongrels looking for meat! A wave of 8 toons came crashing into the East gun and in a matter of seconds, had killed the 3 people there. I and others ran to assist as the swarm moved back towards the South, only they didn't go South, they cut right and moved West, while our defeated were locked behind the blasted force wall counting down. They caught me running to aid the East and beat me like i owed them money. By the time the wall dropped, their freshly killed players were swarming back south and our newly dead were ending up re-spawning behind the force wall. They started mulching us as we leaped into the battle not even leaving guards to hold the nodes, just capping them. They stood four at each entry drop and murdered us like clubbed seals in the arctic. People were actually falling over from pausing too long to look down and getting caught by the wall again and timing out. We lost that match and they won with friggin Eight Percent! That is heart. That is guts and that is PVP, not farming node medals! Wanna talk tactics? I am not just some blind thug noob only after killing folks I rationalize in Huttball that when your team gets the ball, everyone should stop killing the other team...period. The second you see your team has the ball and starts running, everyone on your team needs to stop killing and start cc'ing, or knocking people off ramps into the pit or slowing....etc. This keeps them off the ball handler and allows the ball handler to get to the goal. If you kill them, which most do, then that just causes enemy toons to re-spawn and become defenders instantly at the goal line in front of the ball carrier. Can't CC? Then, attack an enemy hard and then run. Nine times outta ten, they will chase after you to kill you off. I have purposefully stepped into fire or acid just for an instant trip to my goal line to help defend. Pray your force wall is on a short enough cool down to get you out in time. Also, if you stop someone at the goal line and get the ball, spike it so that it resets instead of trying to run it back. Your secondary baller can grab it and make a break for it...again, no kills, only CC's. The other team now runs the whole length of the field to catch the new baller who already has a half field head start. Yeah, I may be a noob and suicidal and naive, but I rather go down swinging than to just stand there, Standing there and farming nodes/turrets don't win the match either. And when people get tired of taking nodes/turrets with no resistance because some are farming medals, the pro's will put a stop to that as well. No medals...no node...just you, in the dark, with your scared team. Once they smell your weaksauce, they will come for you, the Pro's will...where will you hide then?
  10. ****Now, here is what I have to say on all this.....WARZONES ARE THERE FOR PVP! The objectives are everything and gives you something to learn how to achieve with regularity, and first and foremost warzones are NOT FOR KILLING OTHER TOONS!!! There is no place for duellists within a winning team.***** This was funny. I like how you did that to my words...even changed the color....cute, however...wrong. Objective based games are designed to achieve a goal while capitalizing on certain skill sets and allowing learned fluidity of actions based on those skill sets and repetition of the same actions. That is PVE at its core. The environment is static and actions can be predicted as the Non Player Characters will perform the same way each time. The more you repeat, the more you learn, adapt and overcome. PVP is the idea of achieving a certain goal which centers around the act of defeating another Player's Character rather than a pre-programmed Non Player Character. The environment itself remains static, however, the actions of the enemy players within that environment are unpredictable, to a certain extent, and therefor, dynamic. Their job is to prevent you from achieving your goal by killing your character. Yours is to retaliate just the same. Hence it is a War Game. Player Versus Player War Game. So, to say that when a person selects to enter a War Zone for Player Vs. Player combat and objectives should know what they are getting into, is to say that they should know that they are facing other players who will try to kill them to achieve victory and that they should do the same. To think otherwise is a special kind of stupid. Trust me.....NOBODY clicks 'Enter War Zone' thinking that to win all they have to do is sit at a Nod or Turret. The idea of PVP should be self explanatory that they will enter into a zone where other players will attack and try to defeat their character on sight. You make it seem that to be considered a Duelist is to already be considered a bad player. That can not be further from the truth. PVP is a Duel. Whether the objective is to defeat another team to become 'King of the Hill' or to battle across a field of deadly traps to get the ball to the other side, you must duel another player to achieve this. You must show knowledge of your own character and a willingness to work as part of a whole in a team setting....but if you don't know how to fight back...duel, if you will...then it is you, sir, who should be the one who needs to understand what it means to click the 'Enter War Zone' button. My main point still stands. By your logic, it is perfectly acceptable to enter a PVP War Zone and just sit at a node. If both teams just did that, what kind of PVP would that be? And to the other OP's who say that people enter WZ's for the purpose of getting medals by sitting at a node, I say that that should be made clear at the beginning while everyone is standing around getting pumped up to begin the match. Just say "Um, guys. I'm just gonna sit at a node and get medals, not fight or assist in any way..." Go on....say it....I dare ya. A War Zone where nobody goes to War...a PVP zone where nobody PVP's...Hmm, why not? After all, you said it yourself trying to clown me: ~The objectives are everything and gives you something to learn how to achieve with regularity, and first and foremost warzones are NOT FOR KILLING OTHER TOONS!!!~ Kick rocks, Cupcake, and let the Big Boys get their rumble on.
  11. Not to get into a rant here.....oh, who am I kidding. HELL YEAH I GOT A RANT! I have played MMO's since beta of UO and have done practically every one of them and used to be a firm believer of standing against PVP as that is the mother of the Nerf Bat. I don't do open world PVP cause sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't, if you know what I mean. After enjoying the game and getting my first toon to 50, I had decided my next one will be PVP, after all, I like the option of it in this game vs. being forced into it, and it actually gives EXP. which is sexy, IMHO. Plus, it breaks up the monotony of the questing on worlds I've already been to with my climb to 50 PvE Toon. So, I stepped into PVP with the idea I would get crushed. All ****, all the time. But, meh, I get exp. and it is getting me by the repeated side quests. Hey, I really am liking this. I can understand the lingo and the complaints, the builds and the nerfs, and I begin to take sides and slowly become a PVP'er. I am a convert. Now to the rant. I have seen three kinds of PVP'ers in my short and violent career.- 1) Those who don't know what they are doing... 2) Those who quit... 3) Those who are Pro... I don't mind #1 as I fell into that and probably still am, but I watch and learn from each battle. I am no PVP God, but I am becoming an apostle. #3 is self explanatory. They got the gear, the tactics and the mice and keyboards at home to make their computers look like the inside of a car in a Death Race movie. I don't Hate on 'em. 'Nuff respect due... It is #2 that Pisses me off to no end. Number 2 has to be further broken down into two distinct categories- a)Those who quit and stand on nodes collecting medals. b)Those who quit and leave. First let me say this: I'd rather have #2b than #2a. If you are gonna quit, carry your non-fighting, leeching, toon arse outta the Warzone and let the server replace you with someone who will fight to the death! Now, here is what I have to say on all this.....WARZONES ARE THERE FOR PVP! The objective is a nice distraction and gives you something to shoot for, but first and foremost is KILLING OTHER TOONS!!! Can you hear me in the back row? I am tired of people QQ'ing about not being able to win the whole shabang and just giving up and standing around a node like a bunch of kicked puppies! You came here to kill something? Then damn well GIT SUM! Fight until your fingers bleed and your keyboard cracks in half!. You may lose, but at least you racked up a body count! If your poopoo hurts cause the Pro team is wiping the floor with you, then get the hell outta the Warzone and let the server replace you. Don't just stand around while they laugh. Kill something, focus fire something, DO SOMETHING! Letting them win with 100% shields and zero deaths is embarrassing and gets you ZERO EXP! When they are passing your eyes out in Huttball and have 5 points and you are just standing at the ball respawn point, and--'Oh look, they got the ball again', that is embarrasing. and gets you ZERO EXP! Giving up and just letting them get their way...a perfect game for them with out a sweat, or just scoring goals like you are asleep....MAKES ME WANT TO PUNCH A PUPPY!!! Get the hell outta the WZ and let someone else try. Too many people focus on the shiny medals and the bragging rights of always winning the whole thing, and when a pro team stops em in their tracks they turn into a bunch of cowards and crybabies and start the blame game and just give up. Arrrrgh, you make me SICK! If you see there is no more time to score or they have 4 pts and you have zero, or they have all three turrets and you have none, or they have two with 100% Shields and you are already at 30%, then it is time to initiate Scorched Earth Protocol on their asses! What are you holding one turret for? Expecting a call from the Governer? You are already dead, TAKE SOMEONE WITH YOU! ZERG and RACK UP A BODY COUNT! This is from someone who will stand in the acid or in the flamers and yank a ball carrier to me so we can die together to keep you from my goal. This is from someone who may get squashed all the time by focused fire because when my team ******* up and stays at the nod giving up, I still fight! When you see me, you know you'd better knuckle the phuk up, cause I'm comin and all I want is you dead, no matter the cost. That is pvp. TRUE PVP! So, keep your medals, and your 'Wins' chart. Just as long as I get Exp. from killing the other toon, I am down for the dirty rough and tumble. If you don't want to fight, quit and let another real PVP'er git sum! As I said already, fight till your fingers bleed and your keyboard cracks. Let there be scorched earth where you tread and leave teeth marks on the armors of the Pro's who faced you. I'm on Ebon Hawk. The Name's Warbride-Republic side Ruin-Imperial side. I'll see you on the battlefield...Win or Lose...best ta be ready to knuckle up! /end Rant.
  12. I like it. It makes perfect sense to me. Call me Legion For my Toons are Many!
  13. I've been reading this thread from start to now. I have taken the time to read them all and I hope you will read mine. If you are the kind to say TLDR(Too Long Didn't Read) Then bow out now and spare me the acronym. I have seen valid points on both sides of the fence. I want to say this, coming from a player of tons of MMO's. PVP is the Mother of the Nerf Bat. Period. This is how I see it. Both parties have valid points, I will give you all that, but you are talking mostly in terms of these WZ's and PVP events like Hutball. I have played none of these yet, not hating on 'em, just not interested in em yet. But I do know this... The nerfs and fixes you all are striving for, affect my PVE. That really sucks. Here is an example of what I mean. And to make it even easier, I will use another game's class to explain it a bit better so that people don't fire off numbers and percentages from tree depths that is not part of my statement. In City of Heroes (COH) there is a class called a scrapper--comparative to any DPS in any MMO--now one of the kinds of scrappers you can make is one with the super power Regeneration. (Super Regen Scrapper). They can put out a large amount of damage, and their super regen is supposed to allow them to heal up any incoming damage at a greatly accelerated rate, thereby mitigating damage suffered, plus a few self heals for emergency sake when "alpha striked" (focus fired from several mobs front loading overwhelming damage). All was well, with a few complaints about who could withstand more damage against x, y, and z mobs. That is normal for players to complain about. But when PVP entered into the mix, suddenly there was an outcry that Super Regen Scrappers needed to be nerfed because they were broken and out came the Nerf bat! Now, here is where the rub is....Super Regen Scrappers may have been rough for other players to battle PVP, but it was what was needed vs MOBS! Vs Bosses and in Raids! So, now you have a Super Regen Scrapper, with less Super Regen making the PVP players happy, meanwhile us PVE players standing in front of the Super Arch Villain--who's damage and Power Level did NOT get nerfed because Lord Recluse does not PVP against his own for S***s and giggles--wondering *** and face planting. Now, if you are still reading let me put it into perspective. You are arguing PVP and demanding changes that affect the class balance for PVP, but totally ignoring that classes are balanced for PVE FIRST! Whether you are a hard core PVP'r or a Carebare PVE player it matters not. The game is geared for PVE content and functionality first, then PVP ends up the gremlin in the mix. You complain about Tankassins, comparing a Tank spec that happens to be able to Stealth with an Operative. By that standpoint, one can then, logically, compare an Operative--a Stealther that happens to Snipe--with the Sniper, a ranged DPS'r that happens to be able to Shank. That don't jibe, does it? I have severe altitis, meaning I have probably played every class in this game to about 35 Rebel and Empire, before rerolling into another. And it goes back and forth. Playing everything, but never geting to 50 when I should have been there long ago. And from both perspectives, I can see both sides of the fence, but in the end, will the changes you want both positive and negative impact the PVE portion of this game on a Positive level? I know you want better utility for your class, but ever think that it may be easier and more cost effective to remove utility from the other class rather than implement new code just for yours? In effect, it is easier to nerf than to create/add? So, your cries bring forth the Nerf Bat instead of new abilities and now Sins are on the same level as you, whether you believe that level is broken or not, and still staring at the entrance to a FP on hard mode or at a world champion Mob, and wonder if your team can pull this off now that one or the other of you have been nerfed to kingdom come. And if not that, because maybe all you care about is PVP and PVP events like Huttball, then it will be the other players who PVE who suffer for those nerfs just because you want to battle a buddy or faceroll other players. I only ask the you remember this, guys. When you call for this balance issue for classes based on PVP, it is the classes that get the wrench or nerf bat, NOT THE REST OF THE WORLD. The npc's and the world difficulty still stands as the original framework from the beginning. Please be careful what you wish for as it will have an effect on everyone, not just the PVP'rs. That said, I will say that I don't care what gets done to the class so long as I can still PVE without suddenly getting gimped and crushed by NPC's just so people can beat their chests from facerolling others or becoming champions in Huttball. True, there need to be fixes, but not from the basis of PVP. And this entire thread appears to be based off of just that....PVP. No disrespect intended to any of you. Peace. Risq S'in-"I swear I will get her to 50." -------------- I have Alt-itis Call me Legion For my Toons are MANY!
  14. I'll say this about BH in Star Wars. They hunt Wanted Dead or Alive. Greedo hunted Han and y'know what his principles got him? Shot first in a Cantina. The first Fet was a Principled warrior and y'know what it got him? A son playing with his head in his helmet. Boba listened to Darth Vader when he said "No disintegration." Y'know what it got him? An embarrassing knock down by a blind Mark, the very same Mark that should have been disintegrated, and dropped into the stomach of a Sarlaak. You are not Jedi, they don't care about you. You are not Republic, they too don't care about you. You can be an insane monster or a principled monster, but you are still a Monster all the same. In the end, its about the credits, not the tally of who got saved and who got killed. Yours is not to reason why, yours is to get paid, or die. The Jedi left Twi'leks to the Flesh Raiders and would not help. Their people were dragged away and eaten, and they didn't help until Padawans started getting chomped like an intergalactic Walking Dead episode. They even stand against Love. You call that Justice or Light Side? Me? I'm gonna get my bounty, with the steel in my hand and the woman in my arms, and if I gotta be a Darksider to do it, then that's the life of a Bounty Hunter, isn't it? If you don't thirst for credits, it aint the life for you. Stay Thirsty my friends. )
