  1. I dont think we took a SS of 16m tfb, since this late after its considered progression no one really cares. If you look up the torparse 16m leaderboards though, you'll see our members on every kill.
  2. Grats guys, nice work. Too bad vexo rage logged on his own thread.
  3. I don't know why we haven't thought about solo tanking tfb kephess sub 50% yet, but I now know what we're doing this week. My co tank also goes dps for all of minefield in nim ec, but that's just because he likes being snazzy I think. Yeah there is no need for it, but it's a good way to break up the routine of some of the fights. Or maybe our dps are just bads, who knows.
  4. There is actually a very simple method of handling this: 1.5-2 seconds after Black Obtuse is done casting, have the tank taunt. He will get hit for a moderate amount that would have otherwise gone to someone else but no one else will take damage. I tank this with a sin and after datacores are down, he respecs dps and i solo tank all of phase 2. I only mention that to show you that once your tank learns how the mechanics operate, its basically a 1 tank fight. The only thing to keep in mind is that if you tank gets targeted for deletion, which happens a lot now, he does like to drop aggro, so save aoe taunt for those occasions. Ive seen other people use 2 tanks for it. 1 tank taunts right before black obtuse is ending and the other tank taunts right after the cast is done. This will cause the first tank who taunted to take the hit instead of a dps/healer. Hope this helps clear up some issues.
  5. Ill do that trade, ill get with you in game on phebus or maeday
  6. Always looking for more people to fill our ranks. Running 2 EC NiM groups and a 16 tfb hm weekly, plus assorted raids through out the week and weekend. Over half the guild has warstalker titles. We expect applicants to be in at least mostly 61s and have a solid knowledge of their class and raid mechanics. Videos of our fights can be found at our youtube channel
  7. As other have said the proc healing relic is too unreliable to use. Unless there is a fight where you know everyone is always below 100% a lot of it will go to waste. There is a slight case to make for it if you're doing 16man content, but even then it's situational.
  8. On the group tab, where it says join, click that and a window will pop up and you'll see 2 tabs: join and create. click over to create and it will generate a key in the upper right corner. Put this in vent/mumble/ts. Everyone now click on join and puts the the key provided. They dont even need to be in the same group, but they should be for reasons ill specify below. Now you go and do your raid/fp whatever. When done, click on the parser and you'll see a button for export, it'll give you a drop down. Export as text file. (i just save it to its defualt location to keep them separete from normal logs) Now just hit up askmrrobot and upload the entire file. Bam, all done. Ok now some notes: - Anyone can export the text file, not just the person who created it. - If someone dc's or exits monitor mid fight it doesnt like it..at all. Sometimes it will even merge fights together - merged fights...grrr. Nothing worse than seeing 4 boss attempts and its kill all merged into 1 long fight. - not everyone will show up in monitor. Its annoying. Just make sure someone who can see everyone in it does the upload. - this program, although awesome, is no longer supported, and hasnt been updated in some time - only works, to my knowledge, with robot. - might not play nice with people with slow internet - if someone is in the parser, then goes and does something else, it will merge that data with yours, often producing unrealistic numbers. I personally prefer monitor since its a pain in the *** getting people to upload, but has gotten increasingly more unstable the last few weeks so we just stopped with parses altogether and have people upload to torparse. I hope you guys have good luck with it, and in a dream world, someone would pick up the torch on a good idea that went unsupported.
  9. Nah, always been there, but it only seems to affect ec as far as im aware. I havent seen it in fb ever.
  10. Was it the same issue thats been in EC where if you wipe and everyone releases (so no one is in the instance) it has a chance to do a soft reset? Sucks on no title though.
  11. Yeah they do build it differently, to what extent i do not know. Ive been looking over several logs for all of our attempts but havent found a pattern to it yet. The only thing that i can come up with is warriors follow the standard threat model, and trenchcutters are focused on the tank until damage is done, then they too follow the normal threat table. It's almost like they are not in combat until someone tags them. Noticed this at times when a dps does a ranged auto attack or dot before they get to us, then zone in on him but after a few steps healers will get aggro if they arent properly picked up. While we're on the subject though, i have another issue thats been bothering me. I, as a tank, never get trenchcutters. When they spawn they always run to the other tank. Done it with 4-5 other tanks, both hm and nim, and they always run to them, not me. It doesnt make much of a difference anyways since i aoe and get them all, but ive never understood why. Its annoying.
  12. Heres some numbers for those wondering: Tanks get 200 threat each when warriors and trenchcutters first spawn each time. So the first group always comes to tanks since there isnt anything else going on. As you get into group 2 and 3 though, they are spawning while healers are pumping out pretty decent hps, so thats when you see them breaking off for healers after a few seconds. And just to clarify if people dont know, healing threat is [(total healing done*.5)/number of active targets]. Talent multipliers can alter the .5 depending on how many points they have in it.
  13. Still on the look out for another tank, Sin preferred. Exceptional applications always welcomed for all roles.
  14. I was assigning an actual stat weight for endurance for a while but in the end i just went with my experience in mmos and some common sense . Since i duel-main healer/tank in every mmo, i have a pretty good feel for dealing with some of the intangibles that's hard to model. I can post some of my old notes where i tried to give endurance a defined value later. If you compare 2% shield rating to 2k hp, shield will always win. But if you take 1900 total stats, which breaks down to D:435 S:817 A:647, your shield rating is so high that you can trade part of that for endurance by using a lettered mod or other means. Now you're looking at a ratio of stat loss to endurance gain that can give you some options when you look at the different boss fights. For a fight like nim kephess, im willing to trade a little more mitigation for endurance since kephess at 100-60% is the most healing intensive for us and i want to give our healers a little more wiggle room. Again, i am in no way saying stack endurance, just that those lettered mods become more attractive as you work your way up the total stat list.
  15. Good write up. I can confirm that for at least PTs the info is correct since ive done the math on them and got the same results. The one thing that i did was also compare the value of endurance vs defensive stats once you get into that 1700 and 1800 bracket. Even with the DR getting that high on my shield and absorb, it still beats endurance in the 1700 range but by the time you're getting into the high 1800s it becomes more debatable. I am in no way saying that endurance stacking becomes viable, but i have swapped out a few mods for the lettered ones with higher stam. As tanks, we only have maybe 1 more tier of gear before we'll be looking at endurance more and more from hitting the higher DR ranges on some of our stats. By then we'll need an xpac like wow does to "reset" our stats.
  16. Well if this is how things are going to be, I can't wait to see NiM TFB: Operator IX only casts rainbow color deletion protocol so anyone can cleanse it.
  17. A quick thing to keep in mind is that as you increase absorb, shield just gets that much better, and vice versa. To the point that you'll always want a little more shield than absorb, in terms of rating. I always build mine evenly, with a slight advantage to to shield. But i also have a little bit more defense, so my shield/absorb numbers arent as high as yours. I personally find i can get more bang for my buck that way since im not hitting some of those upper tier DR levels.
  18. I would find it odd if this was intentional since it would mean a mechanic would negate the puzzle aspect of the puzzle boss.
  19. Yeah massive gore is another, i havent done pilgrim in awhile. If anything, i wish they had special animations for when he does overload. That would at least give a skilled group the ability to navigate the puzzle without getting tossed everywhere.
  20. You got it slightly wrong. For The Thing, there is only a few seconds while he does his white circle where he becomes immune to interrupts. The rest of the time you cant still cast it on him, regardless if hes actually casting anything or not.
  21. Your attempt was really solid. Kephess did kind of screw you guys though by landing, and then jumping 6 seconds later. So you had to do a tank swap right as the bomber was coming out, weird. I dont know what would cause that.
  22. As others have said, its all about taste. I keep mine very large, even on non healer toons. I like to be able to spot debuffs on people, since i still do everything through that lens of a healer. http://i48.tinypic.com/ve2ez8.jpg
  23. We have both healers stand in front of the walker. They both drop reviv behind the walker then just avoid saturation fire. This lets the healer assigned to healing the 2 tanks assist the healer on the dps doing warriors. Here's a general diagram i made outlining how we handle that phase. The only real change is our healers stand more towards the walker's left foot as opposed to directly in front of him. Kephess Trechcutter diagram I bet commandos do help a lot there. We lose a mara every once in a while if he's getting smacked by a warrior (those dudes hurt) and then the walker shoots them. And if you notice the walker shots seem to have a 50% crit rate on them. If you can consistently get through the trenchcutter phase though, all you guys really have left is making it to the 60% transition. Good luck. Here's the if interested. Not too much cut out, but could come in handy if you're looking for HP checks on kephess when he comes out. Mainly after the walker goes down, you really only want him to jump twice before gift of the masters. We had some issues on him if we let him get the 3rd jump off it since we'd enter the transition with a tank still bleeding from the debuff. It ended about as well as you'd think.
  24. I wish 8 man was tuned more towards 16 man honestly. GL in there though, you'll have to release a 16man guide for us when you get him.
