  1. As little sense as this makes in the real world, why does it matter in game? It literally does not affect you in any way. You can't see what people do on their ships. Besides, it'll probably be an option you have to turn on.
  2. I also got the feel that they meant the words... Like, maybe someone is gay but you don't say "oh you're gay? I'm not gay. I don't like gay people" etc. Maybe they meant it more like... everyone just accepts it, or everyone is bi, or everyone is tolerant and doesn't give a **** what you do behind closed doors. Pan-sexual. It's the future.
  3. Confirming my own question... Talos at 10k and he definitely has not had a single flirt option except when I first met him. It really does feel like he was supposed to be an option (maybe for guys as someone upthread suggested) and they didn't add it. Do any other companions accept courting gifts w/o being romanceable? He actually said something about serving me and my family- and his children serving mine, etc. So... not gay? I guess that isn't canon? I'm so confused. And disappoint.
  4. I think his point is that Quinn would work well as a homosexual option. And while I'm totally fine with Talos being available to male characters, as a female I'd like it if I could have him. I will go cry to Revel. He comfort me. Fade-to-black style.
  5. 39 inquisitor, I'd rate Act 1 10/10 simply for dat finale. Act 2 is 8/10, but it's picking up again. I think you need to like the 'search the galaxy for artefacts' thing in order to really enjoy it.
  6. Oh.. so maybe if I end things with Revel (not that there's anything going on, but like, make it clear to him I'm not interested) Talos will be into me? I'm only level 39 but his affection is 6k+, so I was expecting a little flirting. To use awful jokes my guild has made... If Khem won't devour me, I want Talos to.. hide his artefact in my dig site. :|
  7. I always thought the invite was asking... Think about it in real life terms. Could you imagine? "If you want to invite me to a party, ASK ME first." What the hell do you think the word "invite" means, people? I suppose if it's not clear what the group is for it's fine to be a little confused. But raging out on the forums? Calling people who want to form groups unsociable? This thread is pretty weird. Try accepting and then asking what's up. If you don't want to do whateveritis, leave the group. Don't act like the inviter is committing some social faux pas because YOU don't want to instigate the conversation. If someone spams you invite after you decline- that is worth complaining about, I guess.
  8. Maybe they need to make it more clear then, that what they mean by light/dark is the yin/yan thing. Not good/evil, but reason/passion. The killik thing still irks me, though.
  9. Thanks. It's my only character at the moment so I've never romanced before. I got Revel to like... 4k affection and he gave me a sword, and while I think I may have picked some [flirt] options I didn't feel like we had any sort of relationship. There definitely wasn't any "fade-to-black" going on. Hopefully when they add same-sex relationships they add more in general.. and let us 'reset' convos and quests. That'd be ideal.
  10. Mine has had... three I think. 1- Class quest blackguywithredeyes 2- Nar Shoodio mook 3- Fat guy on Hoth. Plus companions, those aren't in the count.
  11. Try to remember that "Dark side" isn't just about evil. It's about passion. So when Obi Wan raged out and attacked Darth Maul, it was GOOD but it was DARK SIDE- yknow? But you're right, too. You should be allowed to arrest people. You should be allowed to kill people more often, too. The best example of messed up light/dark I've seen is the quest where you have to decide whether or not to drag a mind-controlled person away from the people doing it to her. Taking her by force is dark side, leaving her and 'respecting her wishes' is light. WHaaaat? The creatures doing it are seriously evil, and she cannot control herself. It made NO sense. Another one that seems off is a SI class quest one. I'll spare you spoilers, but basically someone you like gets killed and the murderer stands before you. Asking this bastard to join you is light side, but killing him is dark side. I assume because of the 'passion' thing. Oh, and on Quesh there's a quest where you end up being bribed. Taking a bribe and subverting the empire = light side. Killing the bastard, dark side. I get that murder is wrong... but you were sent to kill him. It's not 'passion' in this case, you're doing your job. Once, early in my SI class quest, I got 50 dark side points for telling some dick to "Deal with it." Soooo....yea.
  12. There's nothing wrong with being a robosexual. Talos is adorable and sweet. My inquisitor had a hard life, so he makes her happy. It's hard not to go all darkside, with everyone after you, but he makes the world a lil brighter. But seriously I'd prefer Khem if that were an option. So manly.. and protective... calls me little sith...
  13. Ashara gives more affection if you're a guy. Girls will only ever get "like" affection, never "love" or "favourite."
  14. I wish you could. But no, I'm pretty sure that's not an option whatsoever. Which is sad because he's awesome, and he calls me "Little Sith." He's tough on the outside but deep down we have a BOND ok
  15. Hey guys, I had a question about female sith inquisitor options. I recently picked up Talos and was please to see a 'flirt' option before he even became my companion. Also, he accepts courting gifts. I took this as confirmation that he's romanceable. Now he's at 6k and we're just friends. There was even an option to tell him I'm not into him, which I didn't take. So my questions are 1- Is he romanceable? 2- If not, why? I get bioware not thinking to make, say, KHEM a romance option but Talos is a human. It seems like an obvious thing to make him a potential romance for sith ladies, yet it seems like he might not be. I'm going to be disappointed if not. He suits my character's personality much better than Revel. I hope that when they add more relationships that include current companions... it'd be nice if every one had the romance option for every character, so you had 5 choices.
  16. It would be nice if romantic options could have affection be separated from romance... Maybe even adding a second bar, though that goes against what you just said. Friendship bar, romance bar. Maybe you could like... uncheck romance bar,.. if you not into him/her...
  17. Level 30 female inquisitor.. I've had three flirt options. One was my second companion. One was a story-quest guy with creepy red eyes, wasn't remotely interested. The last was an imperial mook for the bonus series on Nar Shoddio. I feel like not only are there too few options, but the options all seem very "ok let's bang" and the non-flirt options for the same characters are pretty flirty. Red-eyed guy offered me wine and next thing I knew we were falling into bed (which I esc'd because I didn't want it.) Personally the issue isn't just quantity, it's quality. None of the three guys I could flirt are particularly attractive (though the companion has a hell of a voice and personality..) and the last guy was just a tool. He was all snively.. nothing sexy about him. Why not have some attractive nice guys? Or maybe add flirt as a 'get some info for less work' option, not necessarily fall into bed. I see a lot of [shock Him] so why not [seduce] ? Anyway...guys def get more options but I think they share the 'ewew i don't want this' feel. The lady Darth on Balmorra? The creepy lady from the bounty hunter class quest? Or your handler for that matter? Yet I can't sleep with the Twi'lek secretary? And the one companion I feel really close to (Khem) can't be romanced. I don't need to see the gory details of the bedroom, that all gets glossed over. IMO every companion should have romantic options for the character(regardless of gender!). And there should be a difference between seduction, flirting, and romancing both among NPC's and companions.
  18. I don't know why everyone complainin Khem's lines never bother me calls me little sith...we in love ok.. he my romance
  19. That's insane. In all my years of playing WoW I never once encountered anything similar to what you're saying. But that just proves that the only reason anyone has a problem with it is the social aspect. To which I reply: deal with it. Put on your big girl panties and learn to deal with the slight possibility that someone may in the future criticise you.
  20. It really doesn't. I used to play WoW and I had a long 'casual' period. I played a lot but I didn't raid, I should say. I had the top gear one could get without stepping in a 40-man raid. I busted my *** getting a cool mount, vanity pet, interesting hats etc. Then I decided I wanted to raid so I worked my *** off to get into a top guild. My point is, when I wasn't raiding I didn't resent those that did. When I was raiding I never had to deal with ******es talking down my dps or hurting my feelings. They were just people, and they treated me like a person. So maybe some of the anti-dpsmeter folk were abused by raiders once but I never had a negative experience with my guild. And if they had been cruel to me I would have been happy to go. Why spend time with people who are jerks? So, I guess dps meters gives jerks material to use against less-than-fantastic players. But they won't get that info unless you play with them. And I don't play with jerks.
  21. But a dps chart is just a test. A test doesn't make you smarter- it shows you how well you know the material. You test yourself, then you know what you need to do to improve. It is a tool. Easier isn't the right word. A tool make a job possible- without it, you can't even try. DPS meters make theorycrafting possible. A combat log makes it possible. Without these things it is pointless to try. You're just doing what you hope is the best you can do. You have no measure of how well you're doing. And a guild that wants to have only the best of the best, and make sure everyone is pulling their weight, would have no way to weed out the weak links. What do you mean "you wouldn't understand." How can you throw out a general "i've played more mmo than you" when you know nothing about me? Try to keep the personal aspect out of this discussion. Oh, btw, you realise it's optional right? What we're talking about? I would like your response to my previous statement: I want this feature. Its addition to the game won't affect you, because it will be optional. Adding it makes me happy and doesn't affect you. Why do you want to prevent the happiness of some people? Why do you feel the need to force your way of playing on others? Please respond to this. If you really don't care what we do, please stop arguing against DPS meters.
  22. They provide the playerbase as a whole the same information. I'm starting to get the feel you don't know what damage meters are. Seriously, not sure if troll etc. Do you have a problem with flytext as well? You know that has the exact info the dps chart would, except the chart gathers the info into ..well, a chart.
  23. Thanks Meluna. I'll just end my thoughts on the subject by saying that so long as combat logs, damage meters, addons and macros are optional secondary features that need to be sought out and enabled; there is no reason for anyone to argue against their existence. If your only argument is "I want you to play the game the way I play it" then your opinion's value is diminished, and you may as well keep it to yourself.
