  1. Same problem here on my dark side Sith Warrior. Absolutely 0% chance I spared Darth Baras during the story on this character; she's as dark as I could possibly make her. I was shocked to see him show up on Nathema for me just now. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one experiencing this at least, even if it is still an issue months after release.
  2. This update looks awesome and I can't wait to check it out! Before I jump in though, does anyone know if Ilum, Makeb and Oricon count as "class story" missions and get auto-completed when you start Jedi Under Siege? What about other planetary story missions (not class stories, but the purple missions you get typically at the spaceport when you arrive on Tatooine, Hoth, etc)?
  3. That's really odd. I know that used to be a problem with Ashara (the only Togruta companion) - if you put armour on her that wasn't entirely concealing, it revealed that her body was white. It was just the head and hands that were actually coloured. Not sure why a Twi'lek would be running into that issue though. Haha right?! Totally looks like they've been sunburned! And I don't know if you're rping the insecurities bit about your Cathar, but it took me forever to find good looking appearance settings for mine, and now that I'm finally so happy with her she goes and changes fur colours! Haha
  4. My poor Cathar is suffering the same fate. I don't believe it's an armour issue as even in the character creation screen the Cathar females look dramatically more pinkish than they used to. Fur colour one in particular looks absurdly different than it used to. And it's not just the fur colour, it's also the fact that it's only the fur colour at the neckline and above. It makes any Cathar not wearing fully concealing armour look ridiculous. I beg of thee Bioware, please fix the poor Cathar.
  5. I agree, I really enjoyed what they did with Kotet. I love that there was a bigger focus on alternatives to direct combat - more puzzles and events rather than just getting from point A to B by attacking everything in sight. I also definitely felt the same melancholy you did; some of the choices were so painful... Oh, and just a helpful tip in regards to something you're dreading for alt run-throughs:
  6. I know that the people that have continued the storyline after encountering this 'bug' are out of luck, but I figured I'd copy another post I made on this topic for anyone that it might help, as I found a work-around that did trigger the Lana romance for me after it initially bugged out. I hadn't played my DS JC in months, so I'd completely forgotten whether I had actually chosen the flirt options with Lana, even though presently I like the idea of a romance with her. I got to the cantina scene of chapter 9 and had no option to (flirt) talk to anyone. So, I reset the chapter on a whim, and when Theron showed up, I took every flirt option with him that I could, just so I'd get the (flirt) talk option in the cantina, and hopefully the ability to romance Lana through that. So I get to that cantina scene again, and this time I do get the (flirt) talk option. However, when I select it, I have the option to (flirt) talk with Theron, or just plain talk to Lana. A bit dejected, I figured I'd just talk to Lana and carry on with the story sans romance. However, when I spoke with Lana privately, during the second set of dialogue, there was in fact a flirt option available that let me lock in the romance. I have no idea if this is a bug or due to a bug, or whether I just found a weird work around, but I'd love to know if flirting with Theron, selecting the (flirt) talk option in the cantina and selecting to simply talk to Lana enables anyone else to get the romance lock-in with her.
  7. I'm not sure if this is part of the bug or not, but I figured I'd add my two cents (and possible solution) to this Lana debacle. I hadn't played my DS JC in months, so I'd completely forgotten whether I had actually chosen the flirt options with Lana, even though presently I like the idea of a romance with her. I got to the cantina scene of chapter 9 and had no option to (flirt) talk to anyone. (As an aside, I also accepted Valkorian's power at every turn as far as I can recall, and lied to Lana about it).
  8. Haha yes! I may have done the exact same thing on my sith inquisitor
  9. I'm playing through the Jedi Knight story line again and it seems to me like they didn't give us enough time to warm up to Rusk before introducing the next companion. Granted, there are plenty of classes where you get a companion, then on the very next planet you receive another one, e.g. Elara Dorne on Taris then M1-4X on Nar Shadaa, Blizz on Hoth then Skadge on Belsavis. However, I feel Rusk's case is a little different: you don't have another planet to visit in between companions, he joins your team and then immediately you are thrust into a mission with a focus on Lord Scourge and Kira. After you complete that mission, with Rusk having very little to contribute, you get Lord Scourge, who is already somewhat more fleshed out than Rusk was, and he's got an extremely intriguing story to boot. Even on my first ever Jedi Knight, I've hardly ever used Rusk (talking about bringing him for convo's) as Scourge or Kira seemed like they'd have more interesting things to say. I realize it's all about choice, and I very well could just choose to use Rusk and see what he has to say, but I feel like I'd be missing out on hearing Doc's humour, or Scourge's logic. At least for my playstyle, I wish we had had an opportunity to use him on a planet and get a feel for his personality and dialogue a little bit before getting the next companion, at least that way I could make an honest decision about who has more interesting things to say. I feel like he was completely overshadowed by how intriguing Lord Scourge was, and so he ends up just being this soldier who hangs out on my ship, rather than someone I'm interested in bringing along. Does anyone else feel similar, or should I give him a chance? I've been kind of expecting the typical military bravado from him in conversations, but if he's deeper than that it'd be interesting to see what he has to say.
  10. WOW were my age estimates waaaay off! Talos is only 27?! That's insane; he's got some serious wrinkling going on, that fellow must have seen some crazy things. And Risha is only 21? I don't buy that for a second... yikes, this has really screwed with my headcannon. I imagined my female bounty hunter as early 30s, but with Torian in his teens... Yikes. I'm going to go back to ignorantly assuming they're all the age I image them to be. Talos, you're early 40s, Risha, late 20s... honestly I think nearly everyone is at least 5-10 years younger than I imagined them to be. ..Aside from Gault. That crafty bugger has survived way longer than I ever expected him too, hah. On the topic of companions in the KotFE, I'm really curious to see how they're going to handle things if we didn't max out affection with our companions. I think this is the theory I'm appreciating the most right now Yermog. I have so many characters that I haven't had time to max affection with everyone, and I'd hate to permanently lose a companion because I didn't have time to woo them before the expansion came out. I'm kind of wondering how they'll handle the intro to the expansion in general. Will there be a warning letting you know you have one last chance to max out affection in order to see your companions stories? I assume once you've started the expansion, you don't get any second chances with companion missions you missed out on. Jeez, more than anything I'm just excited (and wary) about how they'll handle all of this. I don't really have time for raiding or group activities beyond a flashpoint here and there, so SWTOR for me literally is the story missions. I play through each class like it's own individual game, and the companions are as valuable here as they are in Mass Effect or Dragon Age to me. If they completely ignore or abolish everything we've done with the companions I think I'll be heartbroken.
  11. Yes yes yes! I just love the look of the Sith purebloods. I made a male pureblood sith inquisitor and the voice/appearance combo makes me swoon haha!
  12. I couldn't find a video of Ando, but yeah as soon as I heard the voice of Grataa in that video from the Bounty Hunter Hutta mission I knew it sounded like the same person who voiced M1-4X, and also Commander Narlock (I think). So it being Tom Kane makes sense to me. I can't see why they would have hired Morgan Freeman in the first place for such small bit parts anyway.
  13. I was wondering this myself. With all the talk of new and old companions being recruited, I'm wondering where they'd fit them all on our current ships without making it too crowded (well, crossing my fingers that we'll have a fair amount of companions, anyway). I'd love it if instead of giving us a new ship altogether they just retrofitted or improved our current ones with more space, but I have no idea how they'd manage that without it seeming illogical. I just really hope if they are planning to change things up that they don't give every single class the same ship. I love the character of the current ships, and I am so tired of seeing/doing the same thing over and over with every character in terms of the RotHC and SoR stories. The last thing I want to see is all of my characters having the same ship on top of that.
  14. This is a tough question to answer, I loved so many of the characters! In no particular order though my top picks would probably be: Lord Scourge Guss Tuno Blizz Dr Lokin Scorpio Aric Jorgan Gault Rennow Torian Cadera T7-01 Corso Riggs I will say though that I am bias, as I have not completed the side missions for every single companion in game. Yuun looks like a potentially really interesting character, for example, but I haven't done his missions yet. In terms of NPCs... Most of the ones I'd want as companions were characters that ended up dying, for example So they're pretty much out. It's neat to see how everyone's lists compare though.
  15. I concur! I would love a romance option with Scourge. He's got so much mysterious allure, and based on the wording of a lot of his conversations (as you say, he does bring up pleasure and passion a fair bit) I was actually rather surprised he wasn't a romance option to begin with. And don't forget about if we're mentioning the ratio of romanceable female to male force users. She may not be a fully fledged force user, but she does have some power! That might actually bring the total to 5 romanceable female force users:
  16. This is an older thread, and it's been revived a few times, but as a neutral warrior (2100 light, 2100 dark, perfectly neutral), I wanted to chime in on how Jaesa ended up darkside for me. (Spoilers throughout). I made choices throughout the storyline based on what would keep my alignment as neutral as possible, so if I was slightly ahead in darkside points, my next choice would be light. This resulted in So, I'm sorry for that wall of text, but the jist of it for me as a completely neutral warrior who avoided every single dark/light side choice I was able to in the conversations with Nomen Karr/Jaesa is that Jaesa killing Nomen Karr is not required for her to be darksided. Nor is choosing every single dark side option that's available throughout the mission necessary. Literally the only dark side choice I made was telling her to "join me in darkness". I realize the dialogue options are different for everyone depending on their alignment, and perhaps some things change if you made different choices regarding Jaesa's family and master. If you're lightsided perhaps you will in fact have to choose more dark side options than I had too, but I thought I'd share my outcome in case anyone ever wondered how to end up with a dark side Jaesa while playing neutrally.
  17. Thanks very much. The battlemaster chest piece is one of the only ones I've come across that I've really liked so far, but the valor requirement had put me off it. I'm definitely disappointed with the current end game appearances for most classes, they do seem to lack ingenuity.
  18. Hey guys, I've been having a bit of an issue lately with my juggernaut in terms of gear. She's a female Sith of the third body type, and I've been having trouble finding anything that looks decent on her. I know there's a lot of impressive gear out there (appearance wise), but I want to preserve her warrior look, so a lot of the cartel market gear is out. The armor that I've been coming across recently (as someone who doesn't currently raid) seem a bit too heavily focused on that Oricon look, which I'm not a fan of. My main issue seems to be stemming from her being body type 3, as armor tends to look a bit awkward on her. So to anyone who may have a female warrior with body type 3 (there are some of us out there, right?), or to anyone who's just aware of some neat looking armor that's not skimp city, would you mind offering some suggestions? I've been gone from the game for quite a while, so if there are some neat sets from hard modes or some such I'd really appreciate the input.
  19. That is too hilarious. xD Thank you for quoting that, I would have missed it.
  20. Rage users, you have my deepest sympathies. I've only played my Sin since the patch came out, but at this level the majority of the abilities I use are instant and have no long-term cooldown. You know what this means? All of my bars are blue. 100% of the time. Playing a class that uses force I have the luxury of knowing which abilities will be available when the GCD is finished, so I can hit the keybinds without looking at the bars. The problem? I can't stop noticing them. The flash every 1.5 seconds is obnoxious for me; no it's unbearable. If you have the focus to ignore it, then you have my envy. But 4 bars flashing every second is ludacris, I cannot fathom how long-term this could possibly be good on the eyes. I'm not saying there won't be other people out there who prefer this change, I definitely see the appeal for long term cooldowns, however the GCD flash is ridiculous. Honestly, if I were to start a new character, it would be completely unviable trying to play with this setup - You'd have to wait an extra second before the flash finishes in order to actually see which abilities are available until you can get use to a rotation. This is also excluding the fact the blue tint is strong enough to almost completely obscure the coloured icon beneath it. Bioware, if you cannot find a happy balance, please allow us the option of choice. I adjusted to that last UI setup well, and I'm use to dealing with flashing and blinking on my screen. But this is just too much. Let me revert to the old way, while users that enjoy this setup can continue to do so.
  21. Yeah I figured the marriage conversation would be one of the last ones, which is why I'm still at a considerable loss regarding whether or not to put off accepting the proposal. I'd love to know whether or not refusing opens up another marriage conversation later on, whether you're S.O.L. or whether nothing happens at all. I guess if this is in fact one of the final conversations with the companion I'll put it off until such a time as there is more follow-up content released. Hahaha, I'm debating doing that to Quinn on my sith warrior. Playing dark side has some humerous advantages.
  22. Have any of you gotten far enough into the romance sub-plot with a companion to the point where a marriage proposal was on the table, and then refused? I'm not talking flat out spite; pure hatred-fueled rejection, I'm referring to the option where you tell your romantic interest that you're not ready for that step yet. Possible spoilers regarding Bounty Hunter/Smuggler romances: What I'm wondering is whether or not anyone (kindly) refused the proposal when the option came up, and if so, what sort of conversations did you have with that companion afterwards? Torian offered no affection loss when I told him I wasn't ready, but I've yet to finalize that decision as I'm unaware whether or not that would wholly terminate the relationship.
