Social Vendors and Commendation Vendor on Alderaan. I''ve seen people craft them as well, though that's very rare.
Just because I spent twenty levels desperately looking for pants, I want to reiterate this for other Seekers of Trousers: Alderaan was the first place that I found light armor pants for sale that didn't require a social rank.

My additions:
Dear DPS: I love you, I really do, but when things start going seriously ugly, my first priority is the tank and my second priority is me. I'm very sorry if you die, but know that you gave your life for a good cause.
Everyone: Especially at low levels, before either I or the tank have all our tools, keeping everyone at full health can be a serious strain on my resources. I can often keep you all alive better and longer if I'm not wasting my energy/force/ammo trying to keep all the bars completely full.
Also, between fights, you are much more capable of healing yourself than I am of healing you. Please do so.
-
What level are you, and what skill tree are you using?
Also, right click just activates the first slot on your action bar.
-
I don't know about this. I'm not disagreeing with you, but without combat logs, how can you tell for sure? It could still be the same damage or healing output, just dished out quicker.
Aren't you both saying the same thing?: the same amount of damage, dished out quicker; which is, by definition, higher DPS.

Strange. What level is she? Does she have any other class missions?
-
What ability are you using when this happens?
-
When you first get a ship, there will be a quest to use the holoterminal on the ship. That may be what triggers the next quests; has she done that yet?
-
Thanks. She has the ship already but so far no mission called "The Professor". Does anyone know if it's a mission you get when finishing the "When Diplomacy Fails" mission?
No. My sage (level 17) is still on Coruscant and already has the quest. I received it automatically when I got my ship, along with "The Expedition", sending me to Taris.
-
"The Professor" is the Consular class mission that sends you to Nar Shaddaa. You should receive it automatically when you finish Coruscant and get your ship, at the same time that you receive the mission to go to Taris.

If you want stealth, scoundrel/operative is your only option. If you want ranged attacks, you want anything except scoundrel/operative. They all heal from range. All the healing classes play differently but are perfectly capable healers and useful in pvp, so it's really comes down to a question of which play style, aesthetic, and story-line you're more interested in.
-
You're not doing anything wrong. As far as I've been able to figure out, shortcuts to action bar abilities simply don't work if the action bar is hidden. This applies to both the companion action bar and your own.
-
Merc is fun and imo more mobile then agent. Agent plunks behind the energy barrier and doesn't seem to move around much.
This is only true of Sniper, by the way. Operative is very mobile (and doesn't have any energy barriers to hide behind).

You gain points based on the choices you personally make in the conversation, not on the outcome.

why can they not both be right. they are essentially saying the same thing. If you use the respec guy 7 days (a week) later it will reset hence it resets once a week.
Does it reset every week, or only after a week of not using it? Those aren't the same thing.
-
Yes, it resets after 7 days of not being used.Yes, it resets back to 0 each week.
You both sound so confident, but these can't both be true...
Any other answers?

ah.. I figured it out
it's quite smart actually
POWER - must not boost the healing abilities. - the POWER thing always says boosts attacks
so it would boost force attacks, and melee attack, and tech attacks.. but it won't boost healing force capability or healing tech capability. That must be it.
Nope. I've just tested it on both my sage and my scoundrel. I get exactly as much bonus to healing from each point of +power as I do from each point of +force and +tech power, respectively.
-
What specific stims are you looking at?
I assume he means the Triage line of adrenals. "Increases Force Power and Tech Power by X and reduces all damage dealt by 50%. Lasts 15 seconds."
And I agree, I'm not seeing any use for these. Same cost, same duration and same cooldown as the straight +power adrenals, but with less benefit.
-
For those put off smuggler/IA by the cover system, I just want to say that the complexity actually diminishes significantly once you get your advanced class. Gunslingers/snipers can make their own cover, and scoundrels/operatives very rarely use cover at all.

So I am playing a Jedi Knight, Jedi Sentinel, Watchman. But I'm currently dealing with levels 8-16 so I don't have very many abilities at the moment. I don't have a "get-out-of-dodge" ability yet I don't think. And I don't think I have an interrupt/disable ability yet. I have Force Sweep, which will stun all of the weak mobs, but it's not strong enough to disable an elite and let me take care of the weak mobs first, and the stun only lasts like four seconds.
Is there something big that I am missing? Always ready to learn something new.
When facing a group with one strong or elite enemy along with a few normals, use your companion as bait; send him in first to distract the big guy while you take out all the little ones.

A proc is an effect that triggers under certain circumstances, either randomly or in response to another ability.
For instance, my Consular has an ability called Shadow Technique with gives my hits a 25% chance of causing extra damage. When that damage occurs, I'd say Shadow Technique had procced.
In your example, Kinetic Shadows have a skill called particle acceleration that has a 50% chance of triggering when the double strike ability is used. If I hit something with double strike and particle acceleration triggers, that's a PA proc.

There's a cantina at Fort Garnik. You're sent there about 10 minutes in, at level 2.

Guess I'll go ahead and ask. Someone else is probably wondering the same thing. Ok..I get that Custom (Orange) items are fully moddable until the endgame, but I found a purple leg slot item with 2 moddable slots...listed as prototype if that matters....is this in any way different than having a set of custom (Orange) leggings?
Thanks,
Mike
Orange gear is fully customizable and upgradeable, whereas purple gear has a fixed base mod (armoring, hilt, or barrel) that can't be upgraded. So purple gear can be very good at a particular level, but you can't continue to improve it as you level up.

None of the healers are melee healers (i.e. they can all heal from range), but presumably you're not going to be doing nothing but healing all the time: the Jedi Consular (Sage)/Sith Inquisitor (Sorcerer) and the Trooper (Commando)/Bounty Hunter (Mercenary) all have ranged damage roles; the Smuggler (Scoundrel)/Imperial Agent (Operative) has a melee damage role.
All the healers heal well, so choosing a healer comes down to deciding which style of healing you like (they all have different healing mechanics) as well as whether you'd rather, when not healing, be melee or ranged.

Just to clarify, people use "auction house" as a generic term for the GTN because they are used to WoW, even though you can't actually auction things in this game.
Sorcerer or Operative Healer?
in New Player Help
Posted
I have more fun playing my operative. I feel more effective playing my sorcerer. They are both perfectly viable healers, but I think my sorcerer brings more to the table at the moment. That said, I plan to stick with my operative.
Having long experience with MMOs, I've learned that picking a class based on what is best at the moment is not a good long-term strategy. Play whatever you have more fun with. There will be buffs, there will be nerfs, some classes will be better at certain times or for certain things, but it's unlikely that any of the classes will be left in a state in which it is unable to perform the role for which it is designed, or that any of the classes will be left in a state in which it is so much better than others that it ends up being the only choice for any particular role.
