  1. Are you aware this game has barely been released for six months? No one has been waiting "a long time" in this game for anything. Instead of going on and on about what "the people" have experienced, just insist you're dissatisfied and unhappy. You're part of the outspoken minority.

I'd say he's part of the larger minority, being more then half of SWTOR's playerbase has already quit

  2. You shouldn't have to fix anything period. You guys already had transfers for AP. This should have went down extremely smooth considering the amount of ppl waiting for this. But no day 1 is screw up, get it together.

You shouldn't be criticizing their effectiveness in getting transfers rolling. I mean for God's Sake man, look at how the new MMO TERA's transfer service went ok? Do you want SWTOR's Character transfer service to be ANYTHING like theirs?

I mean it seems like they are able too get character's transferred within only 30 seconds of the request! They limit the amount of time you're character is trapped within the twilight zone/alternate dimension, which is groundbreaking technology (possibly alien?) in itself.

Other MMO's can learn a lot from SWTOR, and so can you.

  3. I will probably get flamed to high heaven for this but personally I think that if you're not subbed you shouldn't get the any benefits of paying customers. Want a free transfer when it's first offered? Be a paying customer.

Not flamed, just insulted for sounding very silly.

Why would you refer to them *free* transfers, if u have to pay and be subbed?

  4. Breathe people. It is literally taking 30 seconds per toon of mine being transferred. Once they ensure that these transfers worked, they will be able to complete a lot more in the coming days. Just hope that the transfers they are making work properly so things don't get held up.

Dude, i have to say that is amazing!

I think just think it's so awesome that Bioware have prevented your characters from being stuck in the twilight zone/alternate dimension for only a minimum of 30 seconds while your character was *transferred* (*cough* copied).

I think other MMO's should aspire to them and learn of thier superior advanced (possibly ALIEN?) technology that allows this.

I mean just imagine the possibillities now.

  5. Just an fyi... you see how they are picking the to and from for you and its only 1 destination for the from?

Keep in mind that PAID transfers are coming out after this, so what they really care abut is your money... "free" xfer now that you have no control over at all... so that you can PAY them later to move where you want:mad:

The almighty dollar people, it runs the world even in SWTOR

That's true, im sure they are much happier about paid transfers coming out soon, more money for them.

But all-in-all, this is actually more important to them LOL. They are losing on average 5k subs a day (pretty sure about this) and this is a much more important issue even in comparison to all the $$$ they can rake in from paid transfers.

For this reason, expect paid transfers to cost at minimum 20$, to around a maximum of probably 25$-30$ per.

  6. What's a good estimate for how long it will it take for all servers to be eligible for transfers?

This is all i want to know and i can't seem to get this question answered on these forums.

I'm taking a neutral stance, so if you are a covert BW/EA employee or a forum ball buster, please understand your furious anger shouldn't be directed at me.

My question is, what is good estimation for how long it will take to get every server eligible for transfer? Will it be finished by the end of today? Will it take a week? A month?

Based on how other games have done this, what would be a good estimate?

    Thank you.

  7. Look, im taking a neutral stance as i ask this question, please dont accuse me of criticizing Bioware.

Does anyone knowledgeable in these kind of things, estimate how long it will take for all servers to eventually be eligible for transfer? A day? A week? A month?

    Thank you

  8. That was a silly thing to do.

Okay, everyone. Remember how we got here? The game was released and many servers had queues. Sure, most of the queues were pretty short, but you had to wait to play the game that you paid for and people whined endlessly, insulting Bioware, Obama, and electricity and threatening to publicly accuse Bioware of crimes if they didn't have their selfish, short-sighted demands met.

    And Bioware did it.

Now, transfers are starting, and they start out slow --as anyone who has any shred of experience in large-scale services knows is a smart move-- and what happens: People whine endlessly, insulting Bioware and demanding that Bioware implement reckless, uncontrolled, and unmanageable transfers.

You know what would be really stupid: If Bioware listened to any of you. You are the problem. You are the ones who put us in this situation. You should be apologizing and supporting them as they fix the issue you created.

Giving credit where none is due is also a silly thing to do.

Ever hear the saying, the customer is always right? Thats because they are always right, because without them, any business cannot survive.

Customers don't give praise to Bioware because they are not a company worth showing any type of gratitude too. All they are worthy of is complaints and criticism, for obvious reasons.

  9. I don't understand the logic behind that class in PVP.

It makes no sense why they are allowed to remain the single most overpowered class in the game.

I have 3 characters in full BM with WH pieces, but i refuse to PVP anymore because it feels so unfair that i constantly lose to that class. Or i am forced to watch them destroy everyone. My 3 classes are Sorcerer, jedi shadow, and powertech.

I can understand completely why so many people unsubbed to the game, it's not really a mystery why Biowares sad loss of over half the playerbase in a few months occured.

It is mainly thier defensive CD's mixed with thier incredibly high damage that makes them so OP.

I don't mind or care that a pure dps class does a ton of damage, i would expect that completely. It's the fact you would rather focus a powertech down despite them having heavy armor. I mean they don't need a powerful evasion or undying rage ability. That should be only for TANKS.

The biggest folly though is giving them powerful CC along with the defensive CD's. That is what truly caps off these designers incompitence.

That and the fact thier damage is not based on precious resource, but on remaining consistent in battle, which any retard can do.

    Cliffs

    - Warzones aren't fun when rauders kill everything and can't be killed fast.

    - for the marauder class, remove evasion, remove undying rage, remove any damage mitigation abilities.

    - If they did this, pvp would be 1 step closer to fixed

  10. It is simply because it has no consequences for whatever actions you choose. It doesn't really matter which option you pick, the next part of the story ends the exact same way for every choice. And it doesn't really matter which dialogue option you choose either, all you *maybe* get is a different response.

I mean you never get different gear, special items, credits, or anything of that sort based on storyline options, i think it's just kinda bland for a game that is a carbon copy of WOW (except the voiceovers ofcourse) to just have it stall out completely once u pick ur different option.

I mean if you are going to imbed story into an MMO or any game, for that matter, atleast make it feel like it's important right?

And don't even get me started on dark/light side... the only benefits too this are equipping RELICS? Or looking sick if ur too far into the darkside?

I remember in an interview prior too the games release, one of the developers was like... *You will be able too choose different options for your storyline in flashpoints, that will affect what *BOSSES* you fight inside it... And the only flashpoint for which it's available is in Black Talon LOL! 1 stinky boss with 0 twists too it anyway, making it such a joke too even implement and talk about honestly.

I mean so much hype about TOR's storyline, i just don't even see how it's impressive at all, doesn't even feel like it matters (which it doesn't apparently).

And for those who say, too give it time. It won't have ANY time or chance too improve if it's DEAD now will it? I think it's pretty obvious that thier first impression was what mattered most...

  11. Let's assume my next statement is hypothetical (although it is very possible).

Say Bioware's idea of *Super Servers* never becomes a reality (very possible given their track record) and the only option they give at the last second are free server transfers from high too low population servers only (which ofcourse nobody in thier right mind would do).

And a couple weeks after, they implement servers transfers too any destination of your choosing, and it ends up costing around $15-$20 per transfer.

Would you end up paying for the optional ones?

I myself would not. I've already unsubbed and thier is no way in hell i would fork over more hard earned dollars too such a company.

  12. Yeah. I am mad because you watched a movie and the quote "The only thing stronger then fear, is hope." stuck with you because it made you think about server transfers in TOR.

It stuck with me because it rung true for me as a statement, not because it made me think about only server transfers.

Dunno where you came up with that last part, aside from trying too insult someone who dislikes your precious videogame that doesn't seem too give a dam about its playerbase.

  13. :csw_vader:"The only thing stronger then fear, is hope."

:rod_rodian_p: Whoa. That is pretty powerful.

 Yeah man. Sorta makes you think about things doesn't it? About life and politics and such?

:rod_rodian_p: Nah, it makes me think about how we need server transfers in TOR.

    :mon_confused: Yeah! Wait. WHAT?

    You mad bro?

  14. And that in turn made you think about SWTOR?

I mean, that quote from the movie is a pretty profound statement. It made you come to these forums and make a post about a video game?

Holy god, it's just a quote.

Profound? Its a flipping fantasy MOVIE, its not even real life dude Wow. Just like this game...

And another strong fanboy *looks at join date*.

Nice though, trying to make verbal jabs at me. I think we all know who the bigger nerd is though. *looks at joindate again*.

  15. I don't know what's worse, another doom and gloom post, or people having epiphanies while watching the freakin Hunger Games................ :w_rolls_eyes:

strong join date *rolls eyes even more*.

It's not like i watched it for the sole purpose of writing this post, it's just what was on my mind.

  16. you are suggesting they manually transfer over every character to new servers?

do you have any idea how many man hours that would take????

No, not for every character. I would hope they do it for the ones who need it most (most unpopulated servers) but even a random draw would suffice i think. Just until the automated option for transfers is available.

  17. I recently watched the movie *The Hunger Games* and a quote that really stuck with me was... The only thing stronger then fear, is hope.

That rung very true for me and makes perfect sense when you think about it.

People are afraid they won't be able too enjoy the game at all, and their has been 0 help from Bioware so far regarding this concern. So what is now happening? People are unsubbing in DROVES.

It's sad that Eaware couldn't understand even this basic concept. I mean they have the ability too copy characters onto the PTS server manually. So i imagine they could do it just fine for people wanting off completely dead servers.

If they had even the tiniest concern/intelligence for keeping thier customer base happy, wouldn't they say.. Ok guys, we will start server transferring characters based on random draws for all who are interested in this opportunity. We understand that the game is unplayable for some and we are doing all that we can too fix this problem. Thank you for your patience.

But instead we get... Ok everyone, In response too the fact that subs are down prolly 50% and the forums are filled with complaints, server transfers mite be around in another few months, have fun playing on your dead servers till then, bye guise.

  18. These are the forums, you are allowed too complain about a product that you purchase here. That is 1 point of these forums, too vent frustration.

I'm now taking my aim on the anti-complainers, who inadvertently (or not so much) complain about other people complaining about a game full of bugs, inconsistencies, and low server populations (making it mostly unplayable).

Nobody is forcing you guys too come onto the forums too read other people's negative posts about Bioware and their game which seems to anger you.

EA is a company rooted in indecency, failure, lies, greed, and stupidity. It's really no surprise that former subbed players come on here too laugh at what a failure the game now is because of their lack of basic morals (mixed with a lack of intelligence), i mean they did have this coming, which makes it pretty amusing. So it's not like you can feel sorry for them.

So yeah please just let people vent because it is their right. This is coming from someone who re-rolled from a dead server too a thriving one, only too have it become dead a month later, so understand that a lot of the time, our frustration is warranted.

I hope you consider what ive said and keep your petty insults too yourself, thanks.

  19. Ok we all know the truth right now, their is no denying that server population is a HUGE problem in this game and prevents people from doing operations.

On my server *Sword of Ajunta Pall* that was always standard-heavy when i joined it, were now lucky too have more then 30 on fleet at primetime.

Every raiding guild that i have joined so far has ended up falling apart because so many people just quit and i haven't had a steady raid team for a solid month now. I have already canceled my sub because of this and i don't see the point in playing when i cant even find groups for any endgame.

My solution is simple, fast, and EASY. I believe it would be a huge help in combating the inability too take part in endgame content.

Just get rid of the raid-saves that occur when people complete operation bosses? Or atleast make the saves only last 1 day, not 1 week or something. So that way finding a group would be a LOT easier for everyone.

This is purely from someone who really only enjoys PVE, it's not that i have the desire too raid the same ops every day or 2, it's just that it seems impossible too find a group (aside from a few teams) as a PUG OR guild on my server right now.

Guys, the truth is i have low standards for MMO's and enjoy this game.. And this *fix* im suggesting would allow such easy raiding and wouldn't take any longer then a week too implement. I hope everyone supports it and Bioware ends up considering this.

  20. The irony is those 100 + light servers were put there because of people complaining about having to queue at launch screaming I will quit if I have to queue so extra servers were put up. Now those same people are here screaming that they will quit if server mergers don't happen now. That is exactly why devs need to ignore the community and plan according to what is needed to operate effectively.

    Quiet u covert Bioware employee.

The entire population on this game can be put into 5-10 servers right now.

They wont do it because its humilating, making a game that everyone has obviously quit.

  21. Who in their right mind would leave a high population server after LIKELY re-rolling thier from a dead server... to take a free transfer back to another dead server? What incentive are they giving people to do this?

I am sorry, it just makes no sense to me. And im curious how they think this is going to help the problem.

  22. LOL

you just won my argument for me. If you are unhappy with the service you recieve, or if you find a fly/hair in your soup then why would you go back to that resturant. I wouldn't.\

I'm not crying. I have a very vodka soaked grin on my face atm.

I'm here laughing at everyone who is crying about the situation.

I've always done this on forums. I only do it when servers are down because otherwise I am in game and not paying attention to the drama.

The best way to prove how unhappy you are with EA/BioWare is to unsubscribe and not come back.

    period.

Dont post another thing on this forum. Just go unsubscribe and never come back to this unfun cestpool of patching doom.

bet you actually quote me in a few, and tell me about how wrong I am.

In the meantime, go read http://trenchescomic.com/comic/post/exile

It's from PVP and Penny Arcade, and it fits this scenerio quite well!

What people end up doing is not your concern, and its not painful to listen too if you don't care about it, but apparently you do because you and many other frustrated nerds decide to troll people complaining about a service they aren't recieving.

Such a thing does not happen in real life, ever.
