  1. Its not like the rage/focus spec can crit everytime liek crazy. In order for that spec to get a really high crit they have to: 1> Either leap or Obliterate ....this gives us 14seconds where our smash crits 100% 2> Force Choke/Statis for the full duration to get the bonus dmg for smash 3> use trinkets/adrenals 4> SMASH you have about 14 seconds to line all that up then you gotta wait 2 minutes before you can even attempt all that again. Considering we dont do much dmg aside from that if we are able to line all that up in that little time frame and you cant do anything to prevent any of that you deserved to get smashed at full power. This isnt like you hit 1 button and autocrit for 10k every 30 seconds. If you dont line it all up and u do something like a leap then smash you crit for about 3k if it crits. every class has some sort of use my trinkets in succession with skills tomake big hits. focus/rage spec's are at the bottom of the pole for they super skilled heavy crit that takes a perfect line up of keystrokes to perform uninterrupted
  2. I havent been directly farming for battlemaster or i'm sure I would have it. I probably put more time in while I was grinding the dailies away but I have my rakata peices and skip over them more now. I maybe play 10 pvp matches a day and run about 2 dungeons at this current point. And I spent alot of time helping other players with whatever comes up. Ya i'm use my time invested well for gearing myself up and playing with the community. out of the 1032 hours o possible playtime (this doesnt count server being down or anything like) i've played 432 hours of it In those 432 hours I've got a full columi set near full champ set. almost got a 2nd champ set (theres 2 types of heavy) 14 million credits Had all the epic patterns for artfice but just dropped that for biochem this morning. and i mean all the epic patterns for all lvls of the crew skill. I've interacted with probably 1000 players directly on both factions valor rank 47 Ya i know ***! I;'m in my off season for work so I'll only be able to play crazy liek this for another month before I go back to grinding away at the dollar signs.
  3. Only champ gear is rng if your not at lvl 60 valor. The PvP gearing process doesnt really take effect till your lvl 60 valor at which point you get even less bags/day but you are now able to control what battlemaster gear and champ gear you want. Champ bags should give the chance to aquire champion commedations. Battlemaster bags give champion commedations and a chance to get a battlemaster commedation. Champ bags should follow the same model champ bag should have (and they arleady do give cent comm's with a chance to get a champ comm. Battlemaster gear should also be raised in price to add to the grindyness that champ and cent comms are. or all should be reduced. The original post i made has nothing to do with what the bags drop currently. The gear is easy to come by and i got a near full champ set but I use my columi set just as often or a mix of the two ......ideally you'll be mixxing the 2 untill ya have a full set of one anyways. My gearing had nothing to do with luck but 100% to do with time invested. My character currently has 18 days played time on it. I've done my dailies every day since hitting lvl 50 pvp and pve ....works out to be about a 3 hour investment in playtime per day to complete all dailies - this includes the 17 daily quest on belsalvis and illum. After the 3 hours i usually screw around in pvp or run a couple more flashpoints. I've invested my game time effciently to aquire my gear probably be a few more weeks before I see battlemaster. How much time have you invested for your gear? You may think your more skilled then me but we are both working the same job for the same rate of pay ..........dont cry cause my paycheck is bigger.
  4. I edited the main post and turned 200 to 168 for all you ppl using the term can now go correct yourselves All i'm saying is the player that has no life and can play crazy hours is gonna make it to his top end gear first. I play about 4 hours a day general after work hobby and i've got a good group of ppl i play with and i'm full champ/colmi this is tier 2 gear. Randomness on the champ gear bags is cheesy but essentialy you go for lvl 60 battlemaster gear anyways so in the endgame picture its not so random middle game ya get the shaft a bit but u can mix up champ with centurion peices to make a nice expertise set to help pull you thru. Rift had bad pvp design for a game that ppl didnt take seriously as a pvp game out the gate. The major playbase of rift where ppl wanting to get out of WoW's PvE storylines. Look at Aeon ......terrible PvE game but endgame PvP was loved by so many people.
  5. See the incentive is the medals. The early game PvP while aquiring gear is a hit and run style play simlar to league of legends. If your warrior melee range type player .....u leap in throw a couple slaps ....to your cc stuff and run the hell away. Your supposed to contribute to your team in a warzone not be the player that is able to kill everyoen toe to toe ......as you aquire more gear your able to sit in the combat for a longer duration and pull off more abilities and get some kills before ya have to pull out of combat. Ranged players are favored here cause they can rack up points and not have to run away as much as melee. Yes your going to get 3 shot from time to time. Eventually your gonna 3 shot ppl form time to time yourself. If all your doing is running in and getting killed over and over and over ......stop running in to much ....its pvp! you have to pick and choose your moments to be combatant. You cant just run in go toe to toe with someone totally geared. The games incentive for early players is to pick your poitns of attack and get the extra medals for valor to gear up faster. I've got a gear sith warrior that had to pick and choose his moments and now that he is geared i can fight toe to toe. I have a total no gear bountyhunter where i'm still playing the hit and run style while i aquire gear. There is definatly some class balancing issues and probably always will be but thats not the topic i started this thread with. Exepertise is the stat rewarded for time put in and allows you to pull away from the hit and run style of play. My fully geared sith warrior loves feeding off you undergeared guys that want to go toe to toe, on the other side I hate them little bastards that pick me off from range or use there CC to slow me down so there team can take me out. guess point of the story is .....if yoru getting 3 shot cause ya keep running in and dying ...learn to play better all the gear in the world isnt gonna help ya get any better just gonna make ya get 6 shot like an idiot in the middle of the ring.
  6. I replied to someone complaining about expertise in another thread and wanted to repost it here. First of all expertise is the stat that is rewarded on the gear of a PvP player...(ya i know you know this ).... More TIME you sink in the more of it you get. So exertise is a defining stat of how much time one has spent playing. So the guy that currently is lvl 50 that is living his life in the battleground is beating the crap outta the guy that just turned 50....And alot of ppl are whining cause he has more gear and its not fair. Here's how it works for you players that want to play very little and be rewarded for simply logging on: Player A spends 10 hours a week playing this game. Player B spends 168 hours a week playing this game. Player A things he should be at the same normalized gear level as Player B? I think NOT. Player A may be a better player and have more skill then Player B but Player B has more time to sink in and to get geared out so he can stomp Player A early game. Player A logs on forums yaps off in general chat and all in all just complains about how unfair the game is but in reality Player A needs to play for another 158 hours to catch up to Player B in gear. A month or 2 go buy.... Player A is now as geared as Player B. The battle continues and Player B can't hold a candle to the might of Player A's skill. Player B now comes to the forums and pisses whines moans and complains cause Player A is now playing an "overpowered" class. Another month goes buy... Player C installs the game runs into Player B......the battle rages on. Like every other MMO in exsistence ...there is a time commitment made and one that has to be achieved before you can be all crazy geared out regardless of how skiled you think you are. (most of you are terrible and are still learning to throw the ball and not stand on edges where warriors can leap at you). Side Note: World PvP -- (not illum i'm mean actuall world pvp) - STOP ************ IF YOU GET CAMPED ON A PVP SERVER! ---- you rolled on a pvp server if someone wants to be a douche bag and pin you down and your to stupid to learn how to get away from them thats your problem and you shoulda rolled on a PvE server. Fix the week to hour conversion rofl
  7. Sounds like you just want to penalize the ppl that live in the battlegrounds and have aquired so much expertise gear. Your playing an MMO ....the game is designed to be time sink. put in more time get better gear. Some maniacs race to be the top player as fast as they can and then they stomp on the slower paced players. All in all it comes down to .....player A spent 300 hours playing this week player B spent 10 hours playing this week...........this thread has player B whining cause player A has an advantage with a gear stat that player B still has to spend about 290 hours to get. Player B may be better skilled then Player A but guess what Player A spent more of his life preparing to sh*t all over Player B. Player B now plots his revenge advertises the game on multiple forums and complains to every player that he comes across for the next 4 months (marketing?). Player B finally catches up to Player A in gear ......Player A now cries that Player B's class is Over-powered. And the cycle continues as Player C installs the game and runs into Player B. Exerptise is not a bullsh*t stats ......its a stat rewarded to show time committed. Rakata gear is rewarded for PvE players that follow the same line of a time sink. Every MMO is about time invested into claiming your pixel rewards. This game rewards PvP players that sink there life into the game with expertise. its not fair you say ? Its not fair that one player can sink 300 hours into a game and come on the same playing field as a player that puts in 10 hours. You want to talk about skill. Either sink your time in to play with the best gear or wait it out till you can be competitive. I'm sure several ppl will have there say but all in all if your not sinking your time into any MMO your not gonna gain the best rewards in a timely fashion. And a fresh 50 with interest in PvP should already have some decent gear on and his skill will allow him to overcome the ****** battlemaster that just afk farmed his way to the top.
  8. First of all I play empire on Vulkar Highway which feels like we are 5:1 against republic. Illum dailies is very hard to complete at off peak hours and dont get me wrong i'm the kind of player that can grind away at quest objectives for hours if needed but 30 kills/collections over the course of like 4 hours in off peak hours is insane. Now understand Offpeak hours on my server also mean there is still a mass amount of empire collecting the armanets ......and on a side note before ppl start saying anything .....pvp isnt a same faction circle jerk for collection items which is pretty much what illum is in the offpeak. Now couple ideas i'm gonna toss out there and be warned they sort of fall under PvE in a PvP zone. Now we have 3 capture points (5 if ya count the bases) when one faction captures a point it would be nice if it spawned some really tough mobs that require a small group to take down sort of like an 8 player raid boss .......this way even the pubs on our server have a reason to want to control a point as their PvP bonus for caping a point would now have a Guardian of some sort to help hold it longer. At the very least when either facton controls a point they should be able to collect armnets at the points they control........i know this leads to multple circle jerks. thats all I got at the moment and i'm sure there not perfect but lets throw more ideas at the guys making this game and maybe they'll hit something that makes it better....the idea of illum is on the right track but with alot more player feedback on how to improve what they are doing and not ******** about how this isnt fair or that isnt fair lets try to help smooth it out. PS: i'd love a spot in illum where i could kill my own faction just cause alot of them need a good ***** smack.
  9. Taking gear from a player for an NPC isn't right. If your creating a group to run anything best is just to set loot rules from the start before the first boss and if someone breaks that groups rules remove them from group. All loot until operations is gonna be fairly useless anyways so if anyone wants to gear there companions over a player right now its better to get them off your friends list early
  10. okay lets say 100 players regisitered on day 1 then another 100 on day 2 then anothter 100 on day 3 now the first batch of access now contains 300 players that will be randomly selected thru the course of the day. being one of the first doesnt mean you get in first it means yoru fighting with everyone to be part of he random batch that is sent out to everyone that pre-order in a certian time frame. so roughly everyone who pre-order between July 21-August are all in the random lottery to be in the next batch sent out. if you dont get in on the first batch its creating a bigger chance for you to get in the next batch.....doesnt mean you will be in right away just means your gonna be in before the september pre-orders start getting randomly drawn to go in
