  1. This is a great post, almost no one uses the LFG tool. Although it´s undeniably quite limited, it´s also very underestimated. I hope that people will start using it more if they read this thread!
  2. I think you have two different issues here. One is the message you get about having to complete missions to get other ones: that´s solved by abandoning some of those you have on your log (or completing them), just as some guys stated above. The other one is that you actually are a bit low lvl for the zone you are in. I guess you have been doing almost exclusively your class story missions and skipping all the rest. Maybe you should backtrack a bit to a lower lvl planet and complete some of those missions you skipped, to gain xp and lvl up. Other options are, and stated above: warzones, flashpoints, space missions... your call!
  3. I´m quite a fan of both series (although only read the Frank Herbert´s book from the Dune saga, not his son´s). There may be some similarities, but I wouldn´t say George Lucas was derivative, at least not regarding the similarities with Dune. The stories play in very different scales, if you take into account that the Dune saga spans for thousands of years (comparing the Dune books with SW´s movies here). Also, SW main theme is good vs. evil, humility vs. greed, etc, while Dune has a much broader theme scale (IMO, at least). Also, the idea of the Messiah is well known from, like, forever. So I wouldn´t say Luke = Paul as easily. And, btw, I agree with the poster above... I seriously doubt anyone can make a movie that successfully adapts Dune in all its complexity.
  4. As stated above, you gotta be lvl 50 to run hard mode FPs. Also, not all of them have a hard mode. I think that the ones which you access from each faction´s fleet that are shared by both factions don´t have a hard mode (Hammer Station, Athiss, Mando Raiders, Cademimu, Colicoid and Red Reaper).
  5. I´m with you all the way, Miyi! Agree completely!
  6. I haven´t reached lvl 50 yet, but I´ve read that you actually need to run the normal mode FPs before you can run the hard mode ones. Hope that helps!
  7. If you´re a Jedi Shadow you get a box with the lightsaber, a shield and a focus inside. Are you sure you didn´t get anything? (I suppose for the Sith Assassin it´ll be the same, so don´t look for the lightsaber).
  8. It´s great to see this thread is growing so much and so fast! More pictures of me, I´m going to promote a bit of my country (Argentina) for you guys to visit, lol! This is me during my trip to Iguazú Waterfalls... incredible place! This is me in Salta, a province with beautiful rocky landscapes! And to show when I used to play other things apart from SW:ToR... Rock Band, yeah!!!!
  9. I think it´s a great thing that this game attracted new people to the genre. I always try to answer questions and help new players if possible. Though it´s true they sometimes are too shy to ask (which I can understand if they were mistreated by certain individuals too full of themselves in other games... been there myself).
  10. Just finished the survey and bumping! Great idea!
  11. I don´t think it´ll be Dead Rising in space, as there are some very interesting plot themes they could play with. You have to go through Taris to know them (at least as a Republic PJ), but: I´m personally really looking forward to see how the story progresses.
  12. I totally understand your point. The war is fun to read initially but gets boring soon, lol. Regarding the LFG tool, I think you´re right in that there shouldn´t be a cross-server tool. Personally, I would also like the tool to not form groups automatically... The tool already existent would be perfect with some tweaks, IMO. If the /who command gave you a full list of the people present in your server, not just your planet, and if you could filter the list by flashpoint, heroic or operation, I think that would be it. Maybe also including the option to see if someone in your friends list is listed for LFG would be nice.
  13. I´m in your same situation, OP. Personally, I enjoy questing, so I´m doing all the quests in Nar Shaddaa. Also, I´m gathering money to get my mount so extra questing credits are nice to get. Those are my reasons for not skipping Nar Shaddaa. My advice is: if neither of these reasons apply to you, just do your class quests and move along.
  14. This is a great thread!! Here´s me: http://i1136.photobucket.com/albums/n491/Gedierond/Foto.jpg And here is me playing a mage in WoW: http://i1136.photobucket.com/albums/n491/Gedierond/Gandalf.jpg Actually, in that last one I´m supposed to be Gandalf, lol!! See ya in game! (Gierond is my PJ, in Dreshdae Cantina)
  15. There may be some non-orange items with mod spots, but they are not completely moddable as the orange ones. As far as I understand, these limitedly-moddable non-orange items can randomly be obtained by crafting.
  16. The flashpoints do have a heroic difficulty level for when you reach level cap (although I read that some of them are bugged, the intention is for them to be there). Although I agree that the level scaling dynamic sounds interesting, it´s not the idea of the game. You are supposed to follow a path of progression to reach endgame flashpoints and operations. I don´t know how CoH works, but from what you tell I guess it´s a sandbox game, while this is a theme-park game... different dynamics.
  17. Can´t tell too much since I´m lvl 17 (about to finish Coruscant), but I´m liking it quite much so far. I hear it gets better later on, so I´m looking forward to see what happens!
  18. Latin America is a common term used to refer to the part of America that was mostly colonized by Spain and Portugal, because Spanish and Portuguese are languages both derived from Latin. Thus, Latin America does not only include South America, but Central America and Mexico as well (I honestly don´t remember if Mexico is considered part of Central America or part of North America, my excuses for that). Either way, I don´t see how your post contributes in any way to the thread topic.
  19. I agree with this reply. I´ve played WoW, not as a PvP player, but I have raided end game content. I agree that there is some responsiveness delay, but I don´t think it´s an issue really. It´s the way the developers found to fit the improved animations in the game. Is it perfect? Surely not, but I don´t find it game breaking so far. I´ll probably have a better formed opinion once I get to do an operation, but I doubt it´ll be too bad. However, I sympathize with the PvP guys if this really is an issue, and I hope they can solve it somehow.
  20. Hey, I´m from Argentina! And you? My PJ is in Dreshdae Cantina!
  21. I´m from Argentina and, although I would like to play in a Latin American server, I understand that the game so far is officially marketed only in US and Europe, so I can´t really complain. I´m sure eventually EA and Bioware will launch Latin American servers if there are a lot of people here playing the game, but I don´t think it´ll be any time soon.
  22. I´m really very satisfied with the launch so far. I started EGA on the third day, created a character on a standard pop server, and have been having a blast since then. The server got full a couple of days later, but I only got a long queue once (which I used to create another PJ in a different server, no problem there) and I haven´t suffered a single crash so far.
  23. I guess that´s why they put different difficulty levels for the raids, so that everyone can see the endgame content with the challenge they deem worthy. The thing is: there will always be hardcore guilds that blast through content, no matter how hard it is.
  24. I agree with you: I don´t think that kind of logic really adds up. But I also think that a lot of people really doesn´t care much for some features. Using your example: the character creator is too shallow. You´re probably right, but it really isn´t such a big deal for some people (me included). Could it be better? Sure, but it wouldn´t change my appreciation for the game. So, when some people tell you "WoW´s character creator was worse", maybe what they are trying to say is "WoW´s character creator was worse, but I didn´t care back then, so I don´t care now either". That´s just me trying to understand the logic you are pointing out. Otherwise, I agree with you regarding that logic not being very logical.
