  1. We haven't been told because of one of two reasons:

    1. They don't know yet or haven't finalized it.

    2. They don't want to release the information yet.

No one is going to hand deliver you a road map of everything you want to know about. It's not going to happen. Accept it or move it. That goes for any game, not just TOR. What you might want answers on is simply not something they are going to release.

They don't owe you specific answers on anything.

They have what they want on Cartel Market. Call me crazy but it's not just random items. Unless it's a mystery box. It's planned items they have been holding on to for who knows how long. It's on the test servers we can SEE what they're holding back.

Not asking for a road map. Just a general direction. You are seriously going to just say "This is how things work" a MMO works with the company's speaks to the customers of what to expect. They could detail it in notes or a sticky or something.

  2. Many videos and interviews have been posted over the last few months. They have outlined future content many times. You are just stirring the pot to stir the pot. No one is going to hand deliver you a road map, especially when the F2P option is about to launch. That is big priority right now.

No one owes you anything, especially a direct road map on the game's development. Chances are the F2P option will drive what happens in the future. You are going to have to wait and see or go play something else.

That's just not true. We didn't know how much items cost on Legacy and a Majority of the users still don't know how exactly it will work. We need a clear question and answer shown to us in terms we can easily understand. They have a ton of new content.

They used to be so active, twitter all day. Now we're happy if we get a single update from twitter.

However it's only the free to play. Notice how Cartel Market have like seven different outfits. It seems like the only way to get new content is having to pay for it on top of our sub. That's what you do when you buy something at Cartel Store.

  3. Let's not forget once you already done the series of quests to obtain him. You can unlock him on you're other legacy's

    For one Million credits

    or

    350 CC

Does anyone have a problem with stuff on they're legacy should be unlocked on others. Stuff like companion the subs should got free is now going be used as an excuse to refill on Cartel Coins to unlock on all our alts.

  5. i want to see a link where they state it's episode 7 !!!

I know they announced a new movie but didn't see anywhere that it was going to be episode 7...

If disney have any sense they will move away from the skywalker timeline. Also afaik the EU after episode 6 isn't canon so disney doesn't have to use any of that material !!

Ask and you shall...well you get it.

  6. The Force is strong with this merger. Disney announced on Tuesday that he had purchased Lucasfilm for $4.05 billion in cast and stock shares. In conjunction with the news, Disney also revealed that plans for a seventh "Star Wars" film, "Star Wars: Episode VII," are in motion with eyes on theatrical release in 2015.

"It's now time for me to pass 'Star Wars' on to a new generation of filmmakers. I've always believed that 'Star Wars' could live beyond me, and I thought it was important to set up the transition during my lifetime," Lucas, who directed four of the six "Star Wars" films, said in a statement. "I'm confident that with Lucasfilm under the

leadership of Kathleen Kennedy, and having a new home within the Disney organization, 'Star Wars' will certainly live on and flourish for many generations to come. Disney's reach and experience give Lucasfilm the opportunity to blaze new trails in film, television, interactive media, theme parks, live entertainment, and consumer products."

Echoed Disney chairman and chief executive officer Robert Iger, "This transaction combines a world-class portfolio of content including 'Star Wars,' one of the greatest family entertainment franchises of all time, with Disney's unique and unparalleled creativity across multiple platforms, businesses, and markets to generate sustained growth and drive significant long-term value."

  7. 350 is NOT a lot of CC considering how many Bioware is giving people. He is playable at level 1 after you unlock him already. The gear is supposed to be adaptive and it is a bug on the PTS that it isn't right now, if you had taken the time to read that entire 5 post thread you would have realized that.

If you are confused by this you are just being dense.

I have 8 alt's. I've finished virtually every class quest expect for Jedi, and Trooper.

After I unlock him. 1 million in credits is a massive amount. Why are you down playing this and 350 coins is alot. I only have about 1100 coins in total. It's going to shave off pretty quickly if I'm buying XP boosts.

Yes you are right about able to unlock him AFTER you done the quest line once. You're misinforming about how. I have a ton of legacy perks right now I have never unlocked because the price is too high. When you're sitting there with no coins. It makes a big difference.

It should be unlocked on all your toons once you buy him ONCE. It sounds like it's going to be seperate. I don't know about you I don't have bundles of credit stocked up or cartel coins..why are we even buying him on legacy. We've already unlocked him by doing the quest line..

  8. My gosh man. People have already unlocked him at level one on the PTS, which btw have all been converted to F2P to test everything out.

    http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=549507

Just accept it, once you unlock him one time you will be able to unlock him on any of your alts for either 1 million credits or 350 CC. Consider all the free CC Bioware is giving everyone, it is cheap.

    I'm confused.

This is what the poster said

    Take a look here: http://imgur.com/L0JYx

HK-51's gear still requires level 50 despite it having all of it equipped. Its armor rating is 0. None of its stats are actually being applied to it.

Other than that, unlocking HK-51 for other characters in your legacy seemed pretty painless. It becomes a 1 million credit/350 CC character unlock after obtaining HK-51 on a level 50 character. After unlocking, HK-51 is immediately available for tasking.

    End Quote

That means it becomes 1 million credits AFTER obtaining HK-51 on a level 50 and it's Gear is applied to level 50 stats. One million or 350 CC. So I can now jump for joy because after I unlocked him on one time quest series. I can now unlock him on additional toons for a MILLION credits each.

You and I have a far different view of what "unlocked" means. I thought it meant he is able to be unlocked and played. Yours does too.. slightly. Expect to mention I have to have a million credits or 350 coins. Kinda a high price for just a companion.

  9.

    It says

SWTOR Legacy Perks unlocked with Cartel Coins – a list! It is interesting to note that HK-51 is unlockable via legacy (I am assuming once you done the quest at least once) on a per character basis for 1 mil credits or 350 CC.

    The problem is

A: He assumes. Meaning not fact, based.

B: It's confusion. If you do the whole series or quest. Do you have to go through all the other work to do him on an alt ONLY if you have a million credits to unlock him or 350 CC

I don't know about you but people are going to be go through they're free coins very quickly. That's 350 for one legacy. If he doesn't come unlocked like how when you unlock one thing on one legacy. They are not unlocked on other. It's reasonable to assume you have to unlock at one million each for each alt.

I don't know about you. That's pretty high priced.

  10. I don't understand this. This people are casual community gamer just sitting back and reporting what they play. The problem is they don't speak on behalf of the entire community. You can't just put up a show, and make people interested in what you're saying.

They should be straight forward in the video. Who's going watch an hour long just to see facial expressions back and forth? yes it's look they have they're own studio set up. Viewers will lose interest rapidly.

  11. You do realize that after you unlock HK-51 on one character, you can unlock him on a level 1 alt, right?

I would like a link to back up that claim. No where I read does it suggest that one you unlock him on one. You unlock him at all. If anything it suggests you're have to re-do the entire thing again. If you have a good source link that say's that then that's something different.

  12. So what should this quest be? A series of 4 soloable missions? Complete in 2 hours? Thats the expansive content you want?

This isn't hardcore raid gear. This isn't selected for the elite 1% of the playerbase tackling the toughest content. There is no PvP required at all. NOTHING will make you hit another player. You may not be instantly able to run up and grab it, but you will eventually. The hardest part of this, the ONLY part with any difficulty aside picking up items and talking to vendors, is the hardmode flashpoint. Nobody seems to mind that.

It is content for everyone. Its available to everyone. At all times. Dread Guard Gear is available to, though for a LOT more work and investment. This is an 'epic quest' with a low level of difficulty.

The DDE came with some novelty items that they announced ahead of time. Would it make you feel better if HK-51 was purchasable?

Games must evolve. Creators must change to the world around them. I'm sure none of the developers saw how far their game would go, good or ill. They can't put that all on the box. "Buy SWTOR now, Get subscriber benefits for F2P in the future"

Nothing here is taking away from your story based adventure. Its a fun quest that most players are going to enjoy. The other small minority just found something else to complain about besides the inherent unfairness of the rakghoul event, which was widely enjoyed.

You are confusing that I have an issue with a quest being in part in PVP. I have a problem with it being in a PVE area. One of the items of the quest requires you to join a Hard Mode PVE. It's not a story based one. It's a hard mode. There is virtually no need to make gamers who prefer to level up a different way to have to join something that should came with the sub.

I sincerely don't know where you're getting all this rabble about having to work hard. I tested on test servers opening up seven mystery boxes at level one. It's actually VERY EASY to obtain Leet Gear that's not open to everyone. Two rares are in the mystery box. You could be have gear easy.

. You have to understand there is story is a hard mode PVE content. I have never done once and I been subbed since the game started. They are holding up a nice shiny object and say "do this' before we get it. It's a grind.

I think they should understand people have different playlifes, A: PVP, B: PVE C: Both and then make the companion easy to access. Is it so wrong I want walk to my mailbox and obtain it?

  13. You don't want to invest the time. Thats all it boils down to. I've played just as long. And here is a game thats trying to make people stick around to pay the salaries of those people you mentioned. You don't do that by just giving out high tier rewards. Games don't survive that way.

If its not ultra hard, then why are you complaining about hoops of fire? Because you don't want to actually play the game to earn the rewards? Then I hate to say it, but your time with SWTOR is probably over. They are teasing it so that people will spend the time. To help jump start world pvp. To encourage people to use the group finder and do flashpoints. To encourage people to play the game.

More quests like this will help the game prosper. And I don't believe a single person here who is saying "if its like this at launch, i'm going F2P". They're either going F2P already, or they'll keep subbing. They just hope Bioware will go "Oh no! They won't pay! Quick, make it easier to get! Give them campaign items too!".

I can't wait to do this quest. To get a group excited about some flashpoints. To rally up some people at the speeder to knock the PK Guild off the vendor. To butcher the republic guy that stealthed up. To run when his friends come to back him up.

    Good stuff.

This is a story based rpg game. I played it because it had "Bioware" in the title which is interested in compelling story's with unique people that is what I invested in almost a year ago when I pre ordered for this product. We got every item from the DDE in the mail. Same with Founders title. Virtually everything came in the mail.

    Did anyone complain? no

The companion is content for everyone. Yet they are only making a small slice of cake to those who play in those areas. Some of us have no interest in PVP or PVE. Telling us to do it in order to get an item. Doesn't make us enjoy the content all of a sudden.

Game Company's have tried and failed with "Making people grind" another expansion from a mmo was cartered to hardcore. was the worst expansion ever. It drove MILLIONS of people away. All that was left was the hardcore mumbling about how great they are. I am against the idea because I have see it fail. I am not in favor because when they teased the companion.

They never mentioned a "series of quests" this is like when Legacy came out and we found out we have to double unlock, and double buy to be rewarded.

  14. This is ridiculous whining...

Yes, you'll have to go into a PvP area. Gasp! You know what? You'll also have to do a normal flashpoint, a Hard Mode Flashpoint, and some open world content.

This is just like whining that you can't get Dread gear in the warzones or war hero gear in operations. Should I complain that i'm being FORCED to pvp to get war hero gear?

There are some rewards for doing content. Some incentive to do that content.

Bioware is not forcing you to do anything. They're just putting in a reward for those that take advantage of all the content. If you don't want to, you don't have to.

    So much whining....

This is not a war zone. It's a virtual game. Where people who have been here since launch. Put their hard earned money to pay for a sub that goes and pays for the salary of people creating this job. It's discouraging to have to jump through hoops on fire to get it.

I'll still get it. I can bribe people with credits to "carry" me in PVE. I have the PVP part down. It's not ultra hard just time consuming. I don't want have go through all these mazes to get a quest that's been teasing for months now. It's a video game.

  15. Get him in the mail? Thats a joke. Why not just get rid of the ability bars and put a big fat I win button in the center of the screen. Log in, hit button, have max level and full end game gear. Game over. Thanks for the fish.

You are gravely misunderstanding. This is not for gear. Actually I have an easier time on the cartel coin market obtaining random items of epic purple already all fitted for me. I can take that same gear into PVP and become Leet.

How is it we got gear super easy to get to. Just "logging in" as you say. But for companions something nothing to do with PVE groups we're needed to put effort into it and work to get a "Companion" does anyone else see the difference.

A thread was made when people learned you had to go through PVE, and now PVP. It's being made to do a playstyle you don't enjoy.

  16. Because being handed things for no work is no fun. This is why people are leaving the game, it is too easy. If you have to face a challenge to get something you will appreciate it more.

Kids these days, you're all spoiled little whiners.

Let's take your argument. Warcraft created a game called "Cata" for Hardcore people. Those people complained of everything being too easy. The result was going from 12 million to dipping below 9 million in under a year. They are the biggest MMO in terms of subs.

It did not work then and it will not work now. The balance is letting everyone access him without jumping through these hoops. Why can't we simply just get him mail.

  17. What's the point in paying for content, if you don't actually DO the content? the quest for HK qualifies as content. And you want to just skip it and get handed the rewards? Maybe you should start clamouring for the dread guard mainhand too. That way you can get the rewards for clearing TFB HM without actually doing the content.

    The Companion is CONTENT.

Some want to level solely on PVP. That's why rewards were offered for extra experience. So we can level how we want to play. Same with PVE. Anything you interact with that's not included when the game comes is content. Some content we want to interact with the same way a person might want do A: PVP or B: PVE.

I for one like to get companions. This is a Story Based Game for me. I'm not worried about getting ubar gear on nightmare mode. The problem is they're offering a companion for a non story hard mode like requirement. They're charging free to play users 600 cartel coins to unlock it for NON SUBS.

Grinding shouldn't be a requirement in order to get to the fun stuff. When you're doing something that you do not enjoy just to get to point B. They should re-think that. We're all subs. Since free to play started we see how much exactly free to play users don't get.

Just saying they chould make him easier to access to people with ALL types of playing style. They sent our founders title in mail and all our items in DDE. Why can't we walk to mailbox and just play this one. Why is that so hard to do.

tlder: Games shouldn't be work. They should be fun.

  18. I read a very similar thread people were complaining about it's PVE requirement. You have to do a Hard Mode to complete the chain of quests and it looks like you have to do a PVP. My question is. If they ignored the thread that was the biggest concern for weeks.

I doubt they would look at this one. Just my sincere thoughts. I know one world event they had. I never even started it because it was a "quest line" to complete different quests in order to obtain one goal. I decided it wasn't worth it. Just like this new companion.

Subs should get him FREE. What's point of unlocking him if you have to jump through all these hoops. Are you really getting it for free then. I think they decided to make it harder on non subs to make you want to sub to the game to get the perks when it comes to the new companion.

Again. The subs paid for their content and should get it FREE. We're already paying for content we should got free with free to play. I just hope they change this.

Soloing a Warzone. The video proof belows is proof of something that's been going on widely ignored. Since I don't want make a thread, to just complain. I thought I'd make a video out of it.

I am the only one in the Warzones. No one else is, it plays like a regular Warzone expect no one is in it. You can see on my chat panel it says people are join and leaving but I don't see a single person on my map on either side. It's a short vdeo to show just what i mean.

    This started on Saturday.

I wanted to see what were inside those mystery bags. So far there are crystals, Speeders, Gear, Companion Affection items. It was interesting to see I

Rolled Ravens Cowel about a minute into it. It's a level 50 item. It looks pretty epic.

Rumors about Ravens Mask and other items. Appears to be true. I got a nice speeder in it. It looks like it truly is random

The store appears to have a recent polish over since they put it back on Test Servers. I haven't found any bugs so far.

It's clear with mystery bags. You're going to get random stuff, more then likely some epic gear early on which is a little disturbing because that's an advantage early on in PVP and stuff. But mostly good things about cartel market. Watch if you're interested to see what's inside those bags
