  1. Makeb- Heroic 2+ Guarded Research- I've noticed recently that when you enter the personal phase portion of the quest at the first check point with Gold NPC and 2 silver Turrets, AOE dmg does not damage the turrets and any ttype of channeled abilty will not work because an "Unable to see target" error pops up. I've noticed this on my Lethality Sniper

Instant single target attacks do work however such as Frag grenade, Rifle shot, Corrosive Dart and Shiv.

Corrosive grenade, frag grenade, Suppressive fire does not hit the target. The animation happens however there is no Miss or resist prompt, it simply does no damage.

I don't recall seeing this error happen on other toons like my Merc- which I've completed as Arsenal and Pyro spec

  2. We are all so surprised by the OS nerf, it just came out of the blue. It's totally not like they spcified months ago in the Q&A that Orbital is not working the way it was intended, and is going to be nerfed. Bioware has an evil mind, nerfing poor, underpowered class even further behind the others, just to force all the snipers to QQ and reroll, who were of course playing it because they truly enjoyed the class, not because it was fotm. The class now lost its unique feel, so everyone just go and roll a merc. Quickly, before they fix pyro too.

  3. 7400 crit hits x4 down to 2900 x3

I understood the swapping of the PvP set as it made PvE a different ball game but this nerf is obscene.

20-30% nerf I could live with. 60%+ is just crazy.

My un specced Corrosive dart did double OS damage in every fight in HM DP last night. Previously ran 36/7/3 but now swappe to a 36/4/6 to play with buffing dart even more.

Who knows, maybe I'll be swapping to full lethality

  4. Short answer: No HP is not a reliable measuring stick in my opinion.

That being said for any 55 HM content if you had less then 30k I would be nervous and most likely remove you. I would be a 17 y/o drama queen and ***** at you but I would tell you I'm not comfortable with your stats. SM run? Idgaf if you're wearing a potato bag, it can be handled.

I'm not calling you out however I can not fathom a person in full 69/72 and properly augmented being anywhere south of 32k. My Op is one of my weaker toons with mostly 69s a few 72/78mods and has @33.5k hp

Most Comm gear is END heavy and when I see DPS with 40k hp I shake my head.

Personally I prefer to inspect gear prior to making the under geared claim on people unless the hp is glaringly low.

  5. i play gunslinger and i know when i will most likely pull agro.

As some mentioned, tanks best threat generating ability is taunt. But they have to use that taunt at the right moment or they will have to use AoE taunt again as soon as their single taunt wears off.

I also play Vanguard tank on occasion and would never start to pull a boss with a taunt. Waiting with taunt for when someone takes it away from you is best use of your best agro skill. If range DPS will get 50k threat and this will be 30% more then your threat, boss will move away from you and you taunt. This will generate 15k of a threat in a single GC. The more seconds you can hold threat for (during initial pull) the more your taunt will generate.

Once fight is into first minute and there is not boss threat drop mechanic, no DPS should be able to pull him off a tank.

In an ops, this is much much easier for a tank unless there are more then one target tanks needs to concentrate on. If your DPS is good and they generate a lot of threat you can just alternate taunts and after 30 seconds threat is no longer an issue.

There are bosses that you can not loose agro at the start (tyrans hm) as if he moves to ranged player he can cause havoc with his thundering blast. But other bosses you can either wait to loose agro and then use your taunt or do taunt rotation after few seconds.

    ^ understands Agro.

I'd run with you if you weren't a dirty Pub!

  6. Most tanks dont use tauntrotations the very first seconds after pulling a boss, therefore its their fault when you pull aggro except in fights where a tank cant use singletaunt+masstaunt+singeltaunt in his opening rotation.

To the "carreer" tank : When your able to hold aggro the first 10 seconds on a boss without using a single taunt your dps are doing something wrong. Most dps at my guild do about 80k-90k dmg to a boss within the first 10 seconds so you have to use taunt on cd. Btw. this also is coming from a "carreer" tank whatever this is supposed to mean.

I used career to depress I'm not a casual herpaderpa that's just spitting a random opinion like most of the vitriol that contaminates these types of threads. Perhaps 10 seconds is an over estimation before I taunt however I always complete at least 1 whole opening rotation of force pull>shock> wither> discharge >filler> filler > Shock> *taunt or force lightning if Agro not pulled yet*. I'm no expert mathematician but it's pretty close. Also as I originally stated I wait for that initial target swap to taunt to boost my threat higher then I can make my own.

I typically run with 2 marauders/sniper/Sorc or Merc. By the 3rd tick of OS is when I usually need to taunt which is fine because it matches up with my standard opening.

Between guards there is no reason for a DPS to pull Agro prior to that timetable(unless the tank hiccups/lags).

Taunting at the very beginning of a rotation is a waste of a GCD in my humble opinion since taunting with zero Agro gains nothing since as soon as it's effect is over it multiplied no existing threat and you're forced to taunt again which is another waste of a CD when I want to be working procs.

Just my experience, Everyone has their own styles that work for them. And don't work for others.

  7. Typically, If you're pulling Agro at any point of a fight outside of the first minute then it's the tanks lack attention in my opinion. This is coming from a "career" tank. All tanks have a solid opening rotation that grabs Agro without needing to taunt immediately. On most boss pulls I do not use my first taunt until about 10 seconds in and after that I typically only need to taunt on tank swaps or adds.

As a Dps(sniper/Merc) if and when I pull Agro near start I wait for tank to taunt, THEN use threat dump. Why? Because taunts boost your threat over the highest threat person- so as a DPS if you use your Agro dump right after the taunt you're actually hoping the tank get a nice jump start on threat numbers. When you dump prior, there is less of a boost for tank.

After the first rotation it's not a bad idea to rotate your drop in as others have said- it costs nothing.

Now that being said I'm speaking strategy for groups that understand what their doing and communicate. straight pugs my advice is subjective to how lucky/unlucky you are with group members IQ

    *edit- Damn you iPhone autocorrect.

  8. No idea what email validation you're talking about.

Did you create a thread in the Customer Service section? They are typically pretty quick on responding there.

You're no going to get a valid answer here because frankly no one gives a crap about your whiny OP.

  9. Ugh, they haven't hacked anything.

Shoving a stuffed animal into a toilet and clogging it doesn't make you a plumber. Which is exactly what DDoS is.

I think that's one of the funniest analogies I've heard in a while.

    Thanks for the chuckle.

  10. Never said anything about not using a parser or not believing in them.

Personally I think they tend to be far overvalued because as I said, anyone can hit a unmoving, noncombative object for minutes on end. A Sniper for example can Wallbang a target and suddenly have top 10 dps world wide. Parser don't show a persons "smarts" it shows someone's muscle memory which we all know we can train a mouse to walk through a maze.

I see WAYYYYYY to many people "LFM 3300 dps minimum" (example)

I'd much rather have a person with 2800 dps that stays a live the whole fight vs the 3300 dps that doesn't move out of fire, poison, Arc beam of death etc, etc

  11. Just 3 words not gonna make

My hand more dirty than needed

    PARSERS ARE USELESS

    Thats it thank you ^^

Decent baseline, but anyone can perfect a rotation on a non moving, non hitting back .... Thing.

Situational awareness is where a good dps(any role actually) stand out IMO
