  1. Why hello there. I read and understood what you're looking for and I'm ready to help. Will I stay in the guild, or leave, depends if we'll have enough stuff in common to justify me hanging around.
  2. Don't lose hope, server forums aren't all that popular. Sometimes hanging out on the fleet and reading people's guild ads is a way to find a diamond in the rough
  3. Thank you for your interest. We're not rushing into anything a this point, so no choices have been made. We're in the stage of gathering information and eventually getting in touch with representatives of the guilds who are considering making a fatal mistake and inviting us in I know, it sounds like I'm taking it super-seriously, but finding a good community to play with, is most important element of MMO for me. So apologies if I sound like a bag of hot air.
  4. Thank you for your reply. I was reluctant to settle on some solid number - because even a guild with 15 people can be made out of strangers who don't talk to one another, while if I gave a number 42, someone with 43 people in the guild would say "damn... so close!". But all right - I'll give somewhat of an estimate - everything from 4 people to no more than 20-25 active players (preferably less). We could probably go to 30, if you'd be able to make a good case why you need 4 more people in your guild, that already have enough people to field two OP teams.
  5. Message = Incoming. Warning. Text > Wall. Greetings. I know the title of this post is somewhat peculiar, but I always had a flair for being original, and writing "few blokes LF a guild" just doesn't really sound cool enough. This is, as you probably see it already, a pretty long-winded post. I do apologies for it. But we take guild membership very seriously, and explaining who we are and what we’re looking for should save all of us some trouble. Speaking of – lets not waste more of your time than I have to. First - we're pretty specific when it comes to what we DO NOT like in our MMO experience. If your guild seems to fall under any of those conditions, just save yourself the time reading the rest. Big guilds. Hoard of players talking nonsense on guild chat isn't our idea of fun. Our main rule is – the smaller, the better. Tight-knit guilds are our specialty. Babysitting duty. Age is a tricky concept, as there are some mature teenagers out there, and childish 30-somethings. So putting a label +18 or +21 is somewhat sketchy. Bottom line is, we're not keen on hanging around with immature part of the player base. Drama. We don't do drama and we don't accept drama. Have rules if you want to, make them clear, follow them and be fair. We appreciate the no-nonsense attitude and friendly atmosphere above uberloot and millions of credits. Stupidity. Don't mistake this with general tomfoolery. We're completely capable of being silly, but there is a difference between having some mindless giggle now and again, and being a complete imbecile. That applies, quite strongly, towards guild name for example. I know, "Ewoks Gone Wild" was really funny idea and all, but I am not wearing a dumb tag like that. Now, enough with the DON'Ts. If you got to here, you probably would like to learn something about us. We’re playing together for just under 10 years now, going between various MMO and co-op games over the years. We used to run a raiding guild in The Old Republic since the launch till October 2013. We had extensive endgame experience in World of Warcraft over the years as well, with our own guild operating since 2008. We reached the point, where we don’t have time and patience to run a guild; deal with the bean counting, recruitment and most of the day-to-day basis administration of a working guild. We just like to play together and fight some big bad monsters. It’s as simple as that. What we need is a place where we can do that in a fun, relaxed and mature atmosphere. We’re mostly aiming at a highly social guild with a friends&family feel to it, that needs few extra souls to get their raiding team off the floor. We come to The Old Republic with very humble expectations. The game changed a lot since we played and we’re very far behind on… pretty much everything that happened in last 4 years. We’ll have to level up new characters, get used to the game again and so on – we’re not going to be end-game capable for at least few weeks. Keep that in mind. By now, we’re pretty casual raiders – doing it mostly for fun and enjoyment, not for the bleeding edge. We don’t expect our guild to be something amazing when it comes to Endgame content and frankly, we wouldn’t mind join a guild that has aspirations to start doing Operations, but lacks the people interested in it. Speaking of people-- how many people do I represent, really? It’s a tricky question, but a fair bet is the lowest number 4, the maximum 6. (We still try to access how many of our friends would be interested in playing&subscribing to the game) [ Wow! That’s almost enough to field a 8 man group on your own! You sure you need a guild? ] Yes. Starting our own creation is the last resort as this point. So even if you have 4-6 members in your guild and would like to expand, but don’t want to invite some random kids just to fill the ranks, we’re there for you. We may need one of us to be able to perform invites, but other than that, we don’t really care for leadership positions in the guild. If the need be, we have 2 people who served as raid leaders in the past, so we can handle that assignment, but we’re perfectly fine just being ground level grunts. Role wise, we’re all pretty flexible. While we have our favorites, most of us can fill any role in an Operation – only question is, what do you need? We’re very used to using voice communication in-game. Currently preferring Discord, but we could downgrade to TS or Ventrilo if that is what you fancy. On that topic: Easiest way to get in touch with me is through Discord: Ionis#8876 I’ll keep an eye on the forum too, of course. !!! Lastly, if we fail to find a guild for ourselves within (more-less) few weeks. Regretfully, we’ll have to start a guild of our own – so if you’re a player who’s looking for a guild, and read this topic thinking “oh my god, this is what I’m looking for as well!” Please, take the time to get in touch with me. We’re either going to direct you to the guild that would have us, or throw you an invite to a guild of our making eventually. !!!
  6. Killed Draxus on 8SM few hours ago, after wiping on him for two previous evenings - we're very casual raiding guild, using VOIP but never focused on getting anywhere close to bleeding edge. We had to pull up all resources - Adrenals, extra gear upgrades and augments into the picture before we killed him. And after that we finished raid with only 4 wipes on last boss (while we were figuring out the tactic). Everything else was one-shotted and we were done within 1h30min since downing Draxus. I don't mind difficult fights, but this fight - as it is now - is very uneven compared to the rest of the Op. Not sure if that was intentional or not but I think that fight requires either group of very good players or very overgeared characters (considering the boss drops Arkanian / Black Market level loot).
  7. Lies! Lies and slander! And to all those who feel turned off after reading about this ventrilo requirement - we're aware for some it might be odd and strange at first - but we're nothing than supportive towards people who try it out for the first time. And while I'm writing, I can make a little update - composed out of questions people asked me while considering joining the guild. Raiding status? Currently we're gearing up for HMs with 2-3 raids a week in TfB and S&V. How many people are in the guild? Active folks - around 10. People however got in a lot of alts of various levels, which artificially swelled up our ranks. How are my chances to join the guild if I'm below 18? Fairly good, if you can speak English without throwing abbreviations every other word. As always, feel free to whisper me in game - Shorr and Aossi are the characters I'm on the most nowadays
  8. BASIC INFO: Side: Republic Website: infopax.wordpress.com Size: Small Language: English Focus: (in order of importance) Social, Elder Game, PvE, PvP Age req: +18? But if you feel more mature than your teenage peers and you're looking for a mature guild - we'll give you a chance. Attitude: Casually hardcore. Subscription: We accept both F2P and Subbed players. Level: We accept members at all levels & experience Greetings, First of all, I'd like to thank you for visiting our guild ad and spending time reading it. And you'll spend some time here - since this is a bit of a wall of text. About the guild: Our guild was created in 2008 as a small, social-focused, raiding group in World of Warcraft. Known back then as Illuminatus Pax Portavi, the guild quickly matured and acquired a backbone of devoted members that form the foundation of today's community. The guild has gone through various games during it's existence; finally arriving in The Old Republic over a year ago. The original ethos of the guild, however, remained - exemplified by our drive to create a small, hospitable and social community of friends, spending time playing video-games together. The guild's heart and soul is Ventrilo - a voice communication program for clan/guild communication. Why is it so important? Voice communication is not only an important asset in the raiding environment - it's a great tool of social interaction and makes even the most boring grinds enjoyable. We actually like each other enough to spend time chatting, even while not playing any games at all. Now, to save some time let's start with the downsides... Pax is not for you if: You expect a large, always active community with a lively in-game guild chat. We barely use chat when we play - Ventrilo is where our conversations occur. You can generally always find people online during afternoons and evenings - but we assemble the whole gang only when we're about to raid. You're looking for a guild that is focused on Raiding/PvP as much as possible. We don't have time and/or the manpower to run Ops each evening. We do both PvE and PvP - but we're not 100% dedicated to either of these activities. You don't like/don't want to use voice communication. While Ventrilo isn't a must when you join, we expect you to drop by some day to say "hi" to your guild-mates. If you plan to join us doing elder-game content, listening to us blabbing is a necessary minimum (aka no mic needed ). Still here? Let's look at the plus sides then! Pax is for you if: You're looking for something more than just a random group of people drawn together solely by the tag below their names - that's a good start. But wait, there's more! Despite the intellectual level of our conversations sometimes, we're are a mature group of gamers. Our youngest member is 22 and the average age is around 30. Not that any of us hate kids, some of us have a few already, but somehow teenagers never really managed much of a foothold in our guild. It's probably because they got bored with our constant Ahem.. well, you get the idea, right? Jokes aside, if you're tired of kids running around yelling lol at everything for no reason - you may be on to a winner here. You want a guild that won't call you a noob, because you don't know the DR on Crit%. I dare to say we're very newbie friendly. It doesn't mean we'll give you 1M credits when you join, but we'll assist you in picking advanced class and crew skills, we'll lend a hand in running a Heroic or a Flashpoint. We'll assist you in learning everything you need to know to join us in the elder game at max level. Raiding - for fun and challenge. We're not a hardcore raiding guild - but when we're in the field we're not messing around. You don't have to be a raider to join Pax. If you choose to take part in the Ops we run, you'll need to learn how to play your class properly. It's nothing personal, and nobody will kick you out if you screw up - but we try to respect each other's time. And that means pulling one's weight in the field. If you need some pointers we'll let you know how you can improve, constructively, because we want you to be successful as well. Drama. Thanks to our specialized and highly dedicated personnel we make sure that the members we accept into our community are not causing trouble for others. Rude behavior, stalking, sexual harassment* etc. are not accepted and we've never had an issue getting rid of people like that - even if we were removing some key raid members from the community. We want everyone to enjoy themselves, that's why we play after all. Friends-and-family feeling. I think, after few years, I can honestly say that I earned a few good friends in this community. People I know on first name base, people I like to play and talk with. If that's all you're looking for - even if you're not into raiding at all, or are completely new to videogames - you're still more than welcome to join. But seriously, consider using Ventrilo If you want to learn a bit more- feel free to visit the thing we use as our official website: infopax.wordpress.com or poke me in game on one of the following characters: Ionis, Shorr, Aossi. (mostly around afternoon-evening time) *The guild master does not harass new guild members, he only makes sure they integrate properly with the community, any rumours to the contrary are malicious gossip (tongue firmly in cheek!) ___________
  9. I found heat management to be a pretty fresh idea - also ability to tank at range seams pretty neat. But above all those "new" concepts - I don't care about Force using classes, so BH was only option on Emp side as a tank. Also less problem forming a group for Flashpoint, better survivability in PvP and.. hey, burning kids who thinks they are unbeatable cause they rolled a jedi.
  10. Oh.. Thanks man! Quick question: Since Puncture is a filler, are there any talents in Shield tree one might consider dumping to get Rail Loaders - just to get more effect out of Rail Shot? (Would it even be worth it, for 6% bonus dmg?)
