  1. Primarily commenting to say I love the title of this thread. "Premades" are destroying "normal" players- as if people qing with their friends in an MMO are abnormal and BW must protect noble solo q'ers from their machinations:rolleyes:

This is a topic that has been created regularly for the past 9 years, the posters are different but the points are always the same. BW has never budged on the max group size of 4 for regs. It's not going to happen, nor should it.

I wish both sides would open up and stop insulting each other I play both lots of solo and lot of premade when guildies are on-line and I definitely see both problems my guildies like to play in a group some of them wouldn't queue alone because it's "frustrating" to end up with people that have no clue and when I play solo I notice some premade just tend to humiliate/ruin the fun as well as some people is really clueless.

I don't take one side over the other I just see there is a problem and the best solution would be player base solution more communication between people and some players really need to grow up. Nothing that can really be fixed by the game. Solo player needs to speak up be more social ask to join a group if they see one and group need to be more open to split and welcome new players even the bad one especially if you are really really good, grab a noob and group with him or them! Be a leader takes initiative and invite them up.

But looking at the comment here (not just the one I quoted but most of them) I see no solution.

  2. I usually leave the second I get in and i accept the warzone the second it pops

that make easy for my replacement to get before the countdown even start

so maybe you got in 10-15 seconds before the counter start unless you check the timer every time you enter in a warzone you cannot really be sure 100%

  3. obviously if a lot of people drop hutball we experience a lot more in %

so think about it if 16 people enter in hutball and 6 drops it means they get replaced so 1 hutball has 22 people seeing it

the more people drop the more it will feel it pop often because one pop will be experienced by many more people

you got 9 hutball out of 12 because probably got my spot 3 times and the other player spot 3 time and 3 you weren't a replacement

  4. Yesterday I have done probably 30 warzones but I queued for at least 37

    I got at least 15 4vs4

7 Hutballs (that I left every time before start)

    6 Civil war

4 the new one forgot the name (the one with the 5 objective to hold)

    3 Pylon

    2 Doors

I had the feeling Huttballs pop every time because it makes me a waste a lot of time but after I wrote down the % it looks like it popped the right amount statistically speaking the problem is that there are 3 maps! (2 would be enough)

  5. ehehe ranked now is all about killing and u are trying to replace it with ranked all about running away with a ball

no amount of popcorn will be enough for the drama on the forum if this happens, tell me a couple of month before the change so I can start stock up popcorns

  6. hutball just made premade vs random group difference, even more, pronounce as is a team game

I agree on make hutball 6 would be nice but not sure how easy to code.

overall hutball is hard to think as pug game it would be ok if everybody had a clue but some people doesn't even know how to link the pass bottom to a keyboard key because is a temporary bar

  7. limit premade to 2 is silly and it wont happen in my opinion

(it works out just because as u said you mostly like to do it so it fits your agenda)

or you remove premade or you allow it

I like to play with people from the guild but lately, they are busy and I solo 99% of the time.

I honestly enjoy both I just don't think they should mix them up as they are now

just make it "solo only" under 75 you still have 50% chance to end up with your friend is not that terrible

and group-solo at 75 where there is a lot of people

  8. world pvp unless is a world at 75 with bolster would be very gear dependent, wouldn't it? I always go around with pvp switched on (and as other said is usually only 1 or 2 people at best) I like to be surprised but I would not really attach anyone knowing i can maybe one shoot them, it feels so silly gear make huge difference
  9. I think I saw that too BUT my ping has been horrible and I am in California probably not too far from the server I can only imagine the ping in Australia so as much as I believe I saw something weird last week that I never saw before I have to say I have had the worst connection ever last week.
  10.

And before you object with your repetitive nonsense, I perfectly understand the perspective of the number farmers. That doesn't make it right.

you understand because is right and make sense and is logical then you stop being logical when you say it doesn't make it right. who decides who is right and wrong you?

Only solution to fix the problem is to remove that number from the leaderboard and differently from what you think i am all about removing it

people can still use their own log and check their number if they want but it won't be on the scoreboard

that is a logical thing. on the other hand to say do say " it doesn't make it right" it's illogical. But from your rude answer is obvious you are not one of the very reasonable here. it's your way or is wrong (you cannot accept other people point of view)

  11. This is what confuses me too. I'm a ranked player that plays a lot of ranked (mostly because I find arenas more fun than warzones). I can number farm as well as anyone. But I get no satisfaction from number farming. It's not hard and it proves nothing. Playing objectives (ie, playing to win) is what's fun about regs pvp to me. Playing to win while maximizing your damage is definitely more challenging than just number farming, especially in a premade. It can certainly be frustrating if you're playing hard to win and the team around you is not, but that's just the way it goes in all online games. You can't control your teammates, but you can control yourself and your actions.

if you do objective you will be bound to do less kill and damage there is no scenario in which if you pay attention to an objective you can do more damage as instead of focusing only on doing dps and kill you need to watch out for other stuff like people capping and you need to stop doing damage and run to do other stuff or running from one node to another instead of just killing on the spot you are so you will always do less damage and less fighting it's a direct consequence of doing objective and they don't like it.

  12. I am in Star forge i started 8 characters one per story on all 8 I switched to PVP from the very start Lvl 1 (obviously the starting planet make no sense as there is no other faction) and I never ever met anyone to fight in 3-4 month

now I have 2x72-73 2x64-66 and the other 4 are all below 40 so I am on several planets

only once I saw an event on Tatooine where 15-20 players were zerging around (i hope it was an event otherwise why group in 15-20 to fight single players?)

anyway unless you are in a guild that makes an event there is no world pvp

  13. Who says im premading anything?

I don’t know what you do but the guy in the first post is talking about premade of ranked player so if you don’t premade you shouldn’t fell called out as you seem you did by your post so I assumed you did premade

I guess I have more right thinking you did if I follow logic

  14. What If I liked playing unranked better than playing ranked despite having hundreds of thousands of kills on my name?

maybe if you like a challenge and not win-easy just group up with some noobs and teach them rather then bring your premade from ranked down to unranked to play vs noobs

or join solo and let fate group you up, just an idea.

  15. And sometimes not. I don't get people only always seeing half of the reality and focusing on the "you can do objective and do great in dps"

most of the time you won't both Civil war you guard the turret that is not being attached you are doing a very important job and doing terrible final stats

in the pylon you guarding pylon and not killing not gathering sparkle you are doing a very important job and getting awful stat at the end of the match

in 2 hutball you are playing the ball and passing and running ahead to wait for a passage you will do terrible stats

I don't like how you hide behind "sometimes you do objective and you still do great stats" yeah it may happen but is not normal and shouldn't be a good example to fight an idiot that think that low stat in objective game means you are bad. With this mentality sometimes you can do good stats and doing objective you are not helping at all actually you are doing against the concept of objective that you were trying to defend.

but whatever I already notice that people here cannot really once see the other side of the discussion even when they defend objective they are as moronic as the one saying all that matter is stats.

  16. ultimately I think the best road is to add rather than remove players react better

    add incentive to do objective

quest objective-point based with good reward and extra medal for objective point

I don't agree that mara can't guard if there are 2 people guarding one can be a dps class maybe not the optimal but sometimes you have to work with what you have.

Plus snipper with the range makes a good cap interrupt.

So I don't buy into the "there is a class only DPS" everybody can do objective if you are a team player

  17. I would agree that winning is not everything with respect to sportsmanship, but I absolutely think that coming into a match with no intention whatsoever of playing the game to win is "wrong". It's a team game, where the stated goal from the people who made the game is to fight the other team and come out on top.

I think MMO's are the only group activity I've encountered where it's considered perfectly OK to just do your own thing after you sign up. Do people get into pick up basketball games and then, "hey, I'm just going to shoot free throws while the rest of you play the game - because I only want to practice my free throws"? Or go into a baseball tournament, and then run round and round the bases, "I'm only here to get my jogging exercise, and this is the best track for it - you guys don't mind, right?" I know I get into chess matches, and pull out my checkers. I can't get checkers games, because the chess people have all the boards, so this is perfectly justified.

I don't know where this idea came from that "I pay my sub, so I can do whatever I want". Sure, you *can*, since bioware has the say and they don't stop you. I can also routinely drive 10 miles an hour over the speed limit where I live, since the police don't really pull you over for that, and EVERYONE does it... doesn't mean it's not illegal/wrong.

depend on what do you consider winning for some people winning is having fun and making high dps number as they cannot choose their team-mates and they may end up with people that don't know how to play make an exercise in frustration to try to win the game as it is supposed to be played

again fail to see the perspective of other people won't help you fix the problem "it should be" or "theoretically" won't help the specific cases

until you don't accept that people can think differently than you and your theory you cannot start figuring out alternative

  18. Makes sense now. Self oriented and shiny things/reward wanting.

Anyway lads you can have your fun or whatever and a win too. How crazy is that? #mindblown. Like farm your numbers on right targets and get you 1v1s at enemy node. Guess you would know how it can be fun and competitive if you played ranked in the past. Or any sport outside of the basement.

Ehh 14k dps you can do on the dummy if that is fun. And I know man, there is no point getting out of your way if teams is hopeless or care too much, it’s just a game that has no competition but lose a game cuz people think they are “ too good “ to win or to try that is funny. Or have “fun” and maybe get pat on the back and participation trophy.

Anyway like other fellow said, you guys keep losing , suits me fine :)

Aww telling other people what they should do to have fun and how to play and call everybody that doesn't think like yourself "live in a basement", this is a real mature person.

I was taught that winning is not everything the important is to play together and have fun since when this is considered "bad".

You see people that think only about winning is not any better than people that like to do dps or to have fun in any way they want but they think for some reason they are right and everybody else is wrong.
