  1. I don't mind going off topic if someone brings something up that seems relevant to the topic at hand. If my guild is the only guild encountering this problem and none of the top guilds are then that makes my entire post seem irrelevant. I believe that what he said is contrary to the population and most people are getting close or at least finished with the content.
  2. Seeing as to how I've been playing with most of my guild mates for a very long time in respect to MMOs and we have been a successful no drama guild since launch. Most of my guild mates are RL friends, family, or people I've been playing games with long enough to consider close friends.. I'd say I definitely have a firm understanding of the general consensus of my guild. This is especially true because we recently had an open discussion about it during a meeting in which all members conveyed the same general thoughts that I had in my original post. I can see why that's funny.
  3. We aren't hearing these things from larger more established guilds? Could you name a large established guild who plays this game who hasn't cleared all the content?
  4. I am fortunate in that 15 dollars month is not a bank breaker for me. I do however consider myself thrifty and value my dollar. That's the reason I play MMOs. You get lots of bang for your buck. Unfortunately the value in this game is being exhausted faster than myself or many others would like.
  5. I raid, I warzone pvp, I got to ilum to laugh, I level alts, I craft, I sell on the market. I'm not a one dimensional player at all.
  6. I agree and that's the likely what I will do. Unfortunately there is a point of no return for an MMO and end game content. Once the player base as a whole as advanced to a certain point then you won't be doing old content because there won't be enough people to do it with. Of course the devs will have implemented a means of bypassing the content to catch up to the population by that point but then you kind of defeat the purpose of taking the time off. Since you'll have skipped the content you waited for. It's a catch 22.
  7. I agree.. there's definitely too fast. And playing at a certain pace certainly does put a strain on your life and relationships. Unfortunately, that isn't the case here. I feel like I've completed content at a pace that is reasonable and have experienced thing at the rate they were meant to be experience or at least at the slowest rate I can imagine myself being able to experience the content without completely stopping gameplay. There were times that I would even consider my in game time as wasteful because I would be standing around in game socializing instead of leveling. I love 1-50, hard modes, and even my first couple of alts. Unfortunately, after doing all that the fun stopped. I just find it hard to believe that the people playing since launch aren't experiencing this same issue. I personally do have a suggestion for BW. And it is a pretty obvious suggestion. I played all the 4 man HMs and grinding them to get the items I felt I needed. It however was not at all necessary and a lot of people skipped HMs all together for that reason and went straight to the real raid content. They put a lot of time and effort into this content and they should change the difficulty on Regular mode raids so that people can't skip that content.
  8. Isn't that the truth. We have all been conditioned a certain way by the previous games that game before to clear content in a certain manner and to expect certain things from the genre. The game is even advertised to appeal to us experienced MMOers who have those expectations of the genre. I remember way back when they showed the first video of raiding in EV being incredibly exciting because raiding looked a whole lot less linear from the video. I had saliva running down my chin watching those first videos. I wish I could flip a switch and turn my personal drive down while playing. I do feel like this game did get me to stop and smell the roses during leveling. I never skipped anything during leveling. This was the first leveling experience I enjoyed since Eq1 and wow vanilla. There are plenty of games being pushed out that may better suite my needs.. I was just hoping this one would be it because they have a lot of polish here, just not gem ( or vice versa.. haven't quite figured it out yet).
  9. I answered that. And I didn't say they were compelling. Just said they took longer. The guy asked how long raids took in my previous MMO and I answered.
  10. Yeah Hammerknell was seriously that tough when my guild was active there. I'm sure it's been nerfed into the ground by now but Rift is actually doing very well according to their developer Trion. The truth of the matter is that people still have subscriptions over there but do not play the game. So once those subscriptions run out they will be in serious trouble. There's plenty of reasons why Rift activity died down. They changed a lot of classes to satisfy the PVPers which made the PVE guys unhappy. I personally left because my server was dead and it was getting hard to fill 20 man raids. Week after week we were recruiting to fill.
  11. No I haven't played 16 AC's nor do I want to. I have played a reasonable amount by my standard and yes they've made it to level 50 with a good amount of gear also. I refuse to do that anymore because like the other things I've grown tired of it. People are insisting that we are eating through content. This isn't the truth. I personally play a maximum of 3 hours in a day and rarely more than 3 nights per week. Most nights my sessions don't go longer than an hour. If I had pushed the content we could have been done with everything in late December/early January but instead we haven't. I feel like I've been working content at a rational pace or even slow pace.
  12. My current guild transferred from Rift. But we've all been playing MMOs for a very long time. In Rift you played for an entire week wiping repeatedly to the same boss mechanic in hopes to progress further in a raid just to find out that you don't have enough water resistance or that the 20th guy you brought can't seem to pull his head out of his butt and continues to wipe your entire raid over and over again. So it's not really a fair comparison. HK took a week to clear and it probably wasn't until your 20th week that you finally managed to clear it.. if you were lucky. These games are no where close in difficulty nor did I except them to be. I personally have also played WOW since vanilla, EQ1, Eq2, DAOC, LOTRO, runescape, and a few other titles. And it's not acceptable in any game to clear all content in one night. But I'm not trying to talk about what it was like in other games.. I'm trying to talk about what I see wrong in this game.
  13. My toons toon has a toon and that toons toon is bored of the game. I'm not a content locust. I've played, enjoyed, and repeated every aspect of the game so long though that it's grown tiresome.
  14. We are all in full rakata gear and have been for at least a few weeks.. some longer. We've cleared every iteration of EV and KP more times than we can count. Nightmare mode is now on "farm with your eyes closed' status. Those of us who enjoy pvp also have our full set of that also. At this point we've been playing the same content for so long that the game is really stale. Most of the guild logs in 1 night per week. We fully clear all content in one not so very long night. I'm afraid the new content being added in isn't going to be enough to justify continuing to pay the monthly subscription.
  15. Yeah we literally waited 20 minutes because he channeled the pylons for that long. We hoped that at the end of the channel something would happen. It did not. He just restarted the channel. It was at the end of the raid and we had breezed through so.. it wasn't a huge deal to wait for it. We had only been in there for 40 mins up until SOA.
