Well technically my internet runs at around 30--33Mbps. I just gave the 30Mbps because that's the number my ISP quotes.. they actually deliver better than what they advertise. I regularly test my internet speed (multiple times a day) because I work from home. I do not have any internet connection issues and if 30Mbps is all but impossible to hit then I guess I need to play the lottery because of all the times that I've tested my internet speed over the past 6-8 months, I've gone below 30Mbps on a speedtest maybe 2 or 3 times. I also use speakeasy/megapath's speedtest plus that tests latency, packet loss and jitter and my results are consistantly stellar. Anyway, going to try that SWTOR Unleashed thing that was posted above and see where that takes me.

I do not have any issues playing any game thus far be it a MMO, offline RPG, FPS.. this is actually the first time I've had some sort of issue running any game on this PC and I always run games on max graphics settings. I agree its odd, that's why I posted here. In fact, what you describe as your loading time is exactly where I was when I started playing the game at early-release. I didn't have any sort of speed/loading/lag/anything issues in terms of performance. I came back right before Thanksgiving and I noticed that it was taking 1-2 min for loading times and thought that was bad then after they released the pvp expansion.. well I described in the OP where I'm at now with loading. I'm using the exact same PC (fresh install of SWTOR when I returned) with the only difference being that when I played SWTOR at release, I had an internet speed that was about 25Mbps SLOWER than my current connection. So, if nothing else, I'd expect an improvement on load times. I'm not beyond upgrading my PC.. its about that time. The thing is.. I don't get why a game that used to run wonderfully all of a sudden runs crappy on the exact same machine with an upgraded internet connection. To me, that points to an issue or change with the game as my PC has been a constant. ----- No it doesn't, no lag or anything. I also don't experience any lag whatsoever once I'm in game unless I have to get on my ship and go to another planet. In that case, its the loading time problem again.

I pre-ordered SWTOR and played it for about the first month before I decided to hold off on continuing due to bugs with my class/companion storyline progression. That being said, I returned right before Thanksgiving to give the game another try. I enjoy playing the game except the load times, which seemed long when I first came back, now seem ridiculously long. There aren't any issues with my PC.. I play other games (MMO, FPS, solo RPG, etc) with no issues at all. This game, however, is a completely different animal. I'm finding that I log in and hit play game and basically have to wait 5 min before I get an option to choose my char.. then another 5 min wait to get into game. Maybe I'm exaggerating by a min or so but pretty much it feels like about an 8-10min process just to get into game. It takes so long that I now end up forgetting that I started the game and doing something else on my PC (because sitting watching it load is just boring). I play the game with a few other people and they all experience the same (or worse) when it comes to loading. I talk to guildmates and random people in teams and it seems that they experience the same problem. Is the game development company not aware of the problem? It could be my imagination but it feels like since the pvp expansion thing came out that the load times doubled. From my perspective this is frustrating. I enjoy playing the game but I don't enjoy the load times and waiting (not just at the startup of the game but as I change worlds or have to zone anywhere). I'm almost at the point where when my 60-days runs out I'm thinking I'm just going to call it quits (if not before). Anyone know if there's a fix incoming? I don't feel like I should have to buy a SSD just to play one game and that's the only suggestion I've read on forums or seen expressed in game. I'm posting in New Player Help because I would imagine with so many people still playing that maybe someone has found a work-around be it a setting that can be flipped to pre-load, or some configuration adjustment with game files. I'm simply too overall new to the game to get why the load time is as long as it is or to know where to begin to fix the problem.
