  1. To be honest, if you're already saying you're not that good at PvP, I wouldn't suggest a Merc. They are pretty much bottom of the barrel atm for PvP unless you really know what you're doing. And it doesn't look like they're balancing classes for PvP in 3.1 either (PTS is closed and no word on it), so it could take a while for them to receive buffs. In PvE, either is great. But for a mix I'd definately go for Powertech, since they are pretty dfamned good for both. I'm not saying that Merc is completely aweful atm, it's just a lot harder to play in PvP. It really depends on how much you want to be ranged.
  2. Except for my Bounty Hunter, I've disliked every healer companion in the game. As such, I've always run a DPS/DPS combo with my companion on everything besides the BH. As long as you keep the companion gear updated, it's not a problem. I also find that it makes tougher fights a lot less boring. You actually have to use interrupts/stuns/etc on certain boss mobs instead of just railroading them by rubbing your face across your keyboard. That being said, getting the +Presence bonus from leveling a Human character to max level and getting companion affection maxed out, really really buffs you companion. At this point, anything pre-55 can be solo'd by just sending in my DPS companion. At pre-30 levels, my companion is far stronger and has much more HP compared to my actual character. Also, if you have HK-51, he's completely awesome for dailies.
  3. To have a 99% chance of getting the mount at a 0.01% droprate, it will take 46100 coins. Or roughly 34.5 million credits. Nice
  4. Somehow I'm half expecting them to screw up and make the Walkers have a 50% drop rate. VENDOR ALL THE MOUNTS!
  5. I usually try to keep around 3-4 million. Mostly for outfitting alts and stuff. Anything beyond that I spend on 'fun' stuff, like Satele Shan's armor or a nice mount. Personally, I think its pointless to hoard more credits. It's not like I'm receiving interest or anything.
  6. Hehehehe... I almost missed the /wink and was all ready to laugh at you
  7. That's the whole point; not everyone considers it so. I don't rush/skip anything if there's even a single person in the group who hasn't seen the content yet and wants to, including myself. If people want to kick me out of the group for it, I don't care.
  8. Ehm, how would you think people would respond if they screwed up PvE aspects... Oh wait, the whole Ravager thing explains that. It's even worse than the slot machine stuff. You're only looking at it from your own point of view and not from those who enjoy other aspects of the game. It's natural for people to be upset if the game they enjoy, more specifically the aspects they enjoy, are pretty much made obsolete. And you keep bringing up 'chore' this, 'job' that. That's one of the most pointless arguments ever made. The whole point is, it isn't a chore to them. They enjoy it.
  9. No offense, but it seems like you don't understand the concept that some people enjoy different aspects of a game. Just because you don't enjoy them, doesn't mean that aspect of the game has to be killed off. Right now both crafting and playing the market (besides cartel stuff) are pointless excercises.
  10. Cheaper materials doesn't equal virtually worthless. Right now for some professions it's actually unprofitable to run crafting missions. This means that both the people who do enjoy playing the market and those who enjoy crafting are boned. I agree that some of the prices were bordering on stupid levels of credits, but thats to be expected at the beginning of an expansion. Prices would've dropped naturally with time as supplies would grow. But right now materials are literally not worth farming anymore as the market has been oversaturated. And screwing over everyone who enjoys certain different aspects than you, is just not a good thing. Hell, I'd rather have massively overpriced *rare* materials compared to the rare materials being turned into common trash mats. At least getting them would mean something. Now everyone and their grandmother can deck themselves out for a few pennies. Note that I too don't enjoy having to buy stuff at high prices (who does). But instead of whining about it, I usually try to get the stuff I need myself if I find them unreasonably priced.
  11. Pfff, Overlord's Command Throne, damnit! Overlord Command Throne for you! For you! You! Overlord Command Throne FOR EVERYONE!
  12. It's still great. I can farm certificates to outfit every one of my characters with them fancy hoverchairs now.
  13. An exploit in an MMO is using any part of the game for your own profit in an unintended way. How in the hell can it be an exploit when you are using it the way it was designed to be used ?
  14. It all boils down to this; They pander to the wishes of the majority. Not the wishes of the minority. And rightly so for any competent business. Every time I see this 'listen to the top players' crap, I facepalm. If you honestly believe they are going to do that in a game that doesn't even pretend to want to have anything to do with e-sport type gameplay, you're basically deluding yourself. Now, don't get me wrong, I wish they did. I really do. But if you want competitive and balanced PvP, you're in the wrong game. If anything, they need to fix bolster (yeah... lawl, like that's every going to happen ), because it affects every segment of the PvP community. The entire mid-brackets are FUBAR and it's become beyond retarded at max level on a fresh 60. You need to wade through a 40-page forum thread to finally understand how bolster works for a fresh, non-pvp geared toon at 60. And like it or not, it's still a fairly large part of the player base that actually plays in mid-brackets. Bolster screws up any semblance of balance anyway. No matter how balanced the classes themselves are, as long as bolster is quite badly understood (even by the devs themselves apparantly) and complex or just downright retarded (mid-brackets), the majority of players will suffer more then the minority that does understand/handle it well. After you get bolstering on a level playing field, that's when the class balance should be done. Otherwise the class balance will be shot to hell on the next bolster change anyway. Why they don't just give everyone a balanced stat level that is used in lowbies to avoid gear-related bolster altogether, is beyond me. In lowbie PvP there isn't any PvP gear progression anyway. Everyone should be on a level playing field and let the skill determine the winner. And why they don't just bolster everyone's level 60 PvE gear, regardless of level, to a PvP tier 0.5 or something in stat budget (including expertise) is also beyond me. This entire bolster system is just overly complex for no good reason whatsoever. If you PvP in PvE gear with such a system where every class gets a flat PvP budget in PvE gear, you'd be less effective compared to anyone in any sort of actual PvP gear, but at least it'd weed out the need to understand a needlessly complex system and there'd be the exact same gear progression. But meh... I've given up hope for competitive PvP in this game. If by some miracle it does happen, I'm going to cry rivers of joy.
  15. I don't care if they're not moneymakers. At least now I can get those hoverchairs for ALL my characters without spending a crapton of credits or real money.
  16. Midlithe crystal on my server 8-9k with loads of 99 stacks.
  17. So, basically you guys being ***** for 31 minutes? Pretty much the whole reason I play on a PvE server; world PvP means exactly zip, nada, nothing in this game beyond random ganking.
  18. I've had moments where Flashpoints (non-tactical FPs) actually popped before PvP. Not that I mind, I quite like being able to run story flashpoints every now and again instead of that boring place that is Kuat Drive Yards.
  19. "Correction: The Maker defies simple organic views on cuteness. The Maker provided this unit with unparralelled levels of cute. Meatbags like you are blinded by their own arrogance and quite simply cannot comprehend it. Not only has The Maker provided this unit with such, but also allows for splendid liquidation of undesirable and bear-shaped meatbags."
  20. Nope, still laggy as all hell and still have ability lag in certain zones. On top of that, the patch has broken the mail. Some characters have new mail but it doesn't show up. Others it shows up at first but magically disappears. And I can't send any mail such as companion mods in legacy bound gear, because it gives an error 'Recipient doesn't have enough space in their mailbox' or somesuch bull. That recipient has an empty mailbox. For once I wish a patch, which is supposed to introduce fixes, actually fixes what it's supposed to fix and doesn't break different stuff. It's gone way past understandable mistakes and is fast approaching laughable levels of incompetence.
  21. Also, if you want to use HK-51, turn off his aggro dump ability. Stealth Suit, I think it was called. I see many DPS classes running around but with this still turned on (it's on by default). I found him to be a relatively decent (single target) tank without that ability on auto-cast. I usually sicced him on the tough mob in the group, while I mopped up all the trash. By the time I got to the tough mob, it was either long dead or he had so much aggro, I actually had to work to get aggro myself. With his leaping back and forth, accuracy debuffs, self heal and root he makes a very decent tank.
  22. Not really a dumb question, because the DK/Coruscant parts go in the normal inventory and the rest in the mission tab. If you don't know this and pick up the DK/Curoscant ones first, you'll expect all parts to be in your regular inventory.
  23. While I appreciate your attempt at writing a guide, please for the love of all that is holy, unholy or made out of cheese... Use capitalization! Reading your posts make my eyes bleed.
  24. Treek is better to level with. And with 'better' I actually mean easier. Though, with HK-51 it's way more fun and less rage-inducing due to her nagging voice. On my Sorcerer, if I need a tank for solo Heroics and such, I always look to Khem. Treek has been relegated to mission running/crafting on all my toons due to the fact she's just so damned annoying if you have her out more then 10 minutes. The thing with HK-51 is that you are pretty much required to keep his gear up to date by crafting moddable droid armor and slotting new mods every 3-4 levels. On top of that, you should keep your own armor up to date as well. As someone who has Cybertech maxed out on another toon, it's no problem at all. I just start crafting the next set of mods before I even get there, so I can relog and send it to my Sorcerer when needed. With Treek you can keep the same armor for 10 levels and still be perfectly fine. Except for your ears. They will bleed.
