  1. Huge irony that the difference between NiM and Nim Lite is that you are meant to hit the adds.

I guarantee you Narci could top any of the silly rankings form the first page.

3.3 k DPS on Draxus - I can do that easly on Powertech AP if i AoE like crazy, and I hear he can do 4k DPS here.

    Nefra - I score 3,5 k DPS there without even trying !

Maybe i am looking at bad leaderboards but the numbers there are silly - every decent player can score top 5 there anytime !

  2. those scores on the first page are standiing ranking ?

Beoceuse yesturday on Grob'trock NiM 16 man i scored 5 000 DPS quite easly ...

With Powertech Advanced Proto. not even single 186 mod on me ...

I would submit it if we won ;p but we died in enrage cos a lot of ppl died early.

But still i belive that even 6 k DPS is achiveable here is you are godlike AoEer.

And btw - We use Parsec not Tor Parse in our guild (Honour) - is that why the diffrence in numbers ?

Heh I see Narci is here as well ;]

  3. I am Powertech on Advanced Prototype build And i do all HM easy.

I also do NiM with my guild and almost never drop below 3rd DPS.

On Bosses Like Grob'trok or Draxus I am almost alwyas 1st DPS.

AP is awesome Burst Mobility and AoE. Pyro is good on bosses like Nefra.

It is diffulct Clas to play as DPS beocuse Heat is far worst of Resource in game to manage, and you lack jump move to close distance quickly - so on some bosses that require you to switch targets a lot and run it migfht be difficult to catch up with range DPSes.

BTW I think Powertech is the best DPS to kite Raptus.

  4. Hard to say with any guarantee, a good run of DoT crits and HiB procs help a lot. That being said, with a DM implant and belt, my average parse (about 10 so far) is probably ~3900. So it's certainly doable.

ok - i must have been unlucky now it was 3650 without super huge crit scores.

Still i like my Ap better is reliable always, has awesome burst and AoE. NOt to mention 15% speed increase wi\ch is a god send in NiM.

(BTW i jsut cleared Draxus NiM yesturday ;] )

    PS

I just noticed RS is Ranged damage not Tech ...

  5. PvE I recommend ~300 crit rating for Dread Forged gear. This gets a 27.87% crit rate on my current gear (which is slightly less than optimised cause im still using a comm earpiece/implants), which when you account for explosive fuel gives a ~31% crit rate for rail shot.

The rest of it is luck :p

(For reference, the only people who have scored higher on a parse than me in that leaderboard are either in half dread masters gear, or have a dread touched offhand. Im not even in full dread forged)

I came to the conclusion of 309 crit for dread forged by making a very basic simulation of the pyro parse, and just brute forced 380 different crit possibilities into it (so every combination of crystals/earpieces/implants/mods/enhancements) and it got 309 crit for dread forged, 475 crit for dread masters. And testing on a dummy got about the same results.

And what is your score on Dummy then ?

Suprisingly enough - I score about the smae with Ap and Pyrotech on Dummy ... I have 30% crit chance with Coordination buff. and My score on dummy is arround 3400 on both AP and Pyro.

I am full 180 withgout singe 186 mod yet.

Someone told me that it is possible to score arround 3800 with Pyroi now with Dread Forged gear, but i find that hard to belive.

My rotation are and % are about the same as in all guides exept of luky Rail shot crits wich are only arround 30 % for me ...

Is it all RNG ? how much shyould I score on Dummy with full 180 with Pyrotech build without super lucky crit rate ?

  6. Pyrotech (Powertech)

Power Bracer now increases the damage of periodic elemental damage by 35% in addition to its other effects.

Rapid Venting has been replaced by Critical Venting. Critical Venting increases Critical Hit chance by 1/2 percent, and reduces the cooldown of Vent Heat and Thermal Sensor by 15/30 seconds.

    2.8 patch notes

Is that the improvement you talked about ?

just this 2 improvements will skyroket the DPS by 15% ? to 3900 on dummy in 180 gear ?

  7. how exactly is it stupid if they still derive enough enjoyment from playing for the to justify doing it? ~but being f2p is so frustrating!~ yeah well, maybe to you but that doesn't mean that other people have to be all that bothered by the restrictions, enough that they think it's worth the money for a sub? And the 6 month sub might be the cheapest but that doesn't mean everyone is gonna use it. I only get the 2 months one because I a) don't really have any financial security as a jobless student whose income consists mostly of what I get from my parents, which might be nothing for months at a time depending on how well my mother's shop goes (and before you start with "get a job" I can get most of the stuff I want just fine anyway :|) b) I dislike feeling pressured into playing, like someone else said -- I'm fine paying a few Euro more for not committing to half a year when I don't know if I don't wanna take a month long break once my 60 days are over or if there's another game that keeps my attention long enough that I'd rather not be subbed for the duration I'm playing it because I'd feel like I wasted money that way far more than by keeping to the 60 days sub. (And I can only get my friend the 60 days anyway because as far as I know, the only way I can gift a sub is via cards and there only seems to be 60 days ones.)

Like... dude, just cause you wouldn't like being f2 p doesn't mean that everyone who decides they either prefer it that way or that they can't afford to sub but still like playing enough is doing something stupid.

    again ... read read read

    I said it before.

OFC ppl enjoy playing as F2Pers - its not like someone forces them to play.

I dont deny the enjoyment. I question the eficeincy of beeing a F2P for a long time.

"People still enjoy eating Icecream worth 1$ they bought for 5$."

Dont make me quote myself again.

  8. I would like to weigh in if I could.

F2P saved this game from disaster IMO. That said, certain prejudices that full subs have against F2P players, the ones that never spend a penny are understandable IMO.

However, it is important to point out that often we paint judgements with a rather wide brush. Some things we might think about.

    1) In games that use a hybrid F2P system in the market, F2P players tend to be the source of the VAST MAJORITY of income the product receives. This game appears to be the exception, at least based on dev comments.

    2) It is not unreasonable IMO to make a connection between perceived value in the market and F2P cash flow in this game. In other words, if the majority of F2P players are NOT paying out more than subscribed players, that to me indicates one of two scenarios

    A. The game is not valuable enough to the F2P to warrant spending cash

    B. The games F2P system is so prohibitive compared to other games on the market that F2P players convert to subs to avoid being penalized.

The second point could be healthy for the game, but that all depends on whether or not the sub spending volume has maintained itself....and if not, there is a serious problem in the entire system IMO. It is unsustainable. If traditional F2P spenders are converting to subs, and therefore spending much less than they normally would, that will effect cash flow for this product in the long run in a very negative way IMO.

IMO efforts are underway to make the game more appealing to casual players, which I think is a very smart move...though I am a bit wary considering the misfire (IMO) that was Galactic Starfighter (not a failure by any means, but certainly not likely to have gained support from the community or pulled in new players the way Bioware expected it would).

This dev team seems to be more competent when it comes to knowing and recognizing what the game's players actually desire. We will see if that holds true.

    Good observation there.

And as usual the true case is mixture of both A and B.

The game as it is for F2P is too restricted to be valuable to new players - thats why many leave it, those who stay become subscribers in most cases. And this is how it should be.

Bioware should ofc make an effort to increase percentage of ppl who convert to Sub.

And they do with things like early access and giveaways for subscribers.

  9. What a pile of dung. If someone chooses to be F2P, what gives you the right to criticize them for it?

    Let's see...

What I get from your posts is this: People who choose F2P, in your opinion, are childish, irresponsible, stupid and foolish and deserve to be ridiculed.

Your words are harsh and merciless. But they are also thoughtless and offensive. Especially since F2P's can only read the forums, and have no way to defend themselves against people like you.

Lol pure damagogy no logic arguments.

I dont criticize them - lol - like that would even matter - I am only pointing out how obviously stupid is to be F2P for prolonged time IF you are spending a lot of time on this game. This is proven by my post - and you are only playing a role of blind "protector of the week".

Belive me 8$ in my coutry is way more than 15$ in USA. And why dont you use cost of a 6 month sub - cause it is lot cheaper - and we are talking about ppl playing this game for a long time not month or 2.

Lol and picking at my education (without single argument why would it be lacking) and personal attacks directly at me are totaly valid point in that discusion !

And about you final words !

NO I am not talking about F2P peaople in general - I dont know if they are stupid or not - most of society is tho, so there is strong possibility that many F2Pers are indeed stupid. But I neighter try to prove that nor I have intention to. And ofending ppl I dont know is hardly thrilling enough to be my point. Your failure to understand that is lamentable.

I mearly stated that staying as active F2P for prolonged time is stupid - the action is, not the person !

And contrary to your pittifull attempt to subvert what i said - my statements were well thought out and suported with rational analisis. While your words are hollow, Your whole point was to boost your ego - to jump in defence of something you feel is right, but you dont understand why.

PPL are free to do what they want - YES YES YES - they can eat poo and delight how delicious it is !

Pardon me for telling them they could eat ham instead.

And yes - I enjoyed this conversation - decline of humankind never cease to amuse me.

  10. Lol I love how ppl always reject the harsh truth, and prefer to life in false sense of security.

What I said before is just a fact - you can still do otherwise but it is counter productive.

Staying in the game for prolonged time without sub is jsut stupid for the reason I allready mentioned.

And dont give me BS about not beeing agle to find a job or naything . Like you need a job at all to get 8$ a month. There are numerous small works you can do for that sort of money, seasonal works etc. Most kids allowances are way above that this days.

If you wish to spend that money on smoking and drinking its your call but it only proves how bad organised you are.

When you play as F2P you waste 2x much time as sub to get the same thing, not to mention how much flustrating that is. And btw if you check statistics you will noticed that average F2P player still spends a lot of money on unlocks etc.

Simple math will tell you the truth.

    Option 1

You can play for 1000 hours as F2P to get - 1000X*

    Option 2

or you can play 500 hours as sub to get - 1000X*

work/ do small jobs to get money for 200 hours to pay fr the sub and still have additional money left

and you have 300 hours of free time more !

    * X - a fictional value of progress you make in game (ie how much you achived playig the game)

U loose as F2P everytime ! Money + Free time + flustration. Its simple mathmatics ....

And plz dont make up extreame examples jsut to prove me wrong - my thesis aplyies to general mayority, weird cases dont prove anything.

And ofc - people who will pick option 1 can still have fun. Like ppl still enjoy eating Icecream worth 1 $ they bought for 5$. Its just they were foolish.

I still expect ppl to object to what i said - after all ppl this days have big problem thinking logicly ...

But its not my problem do what you want - just dont beg and exploit subbed ppl to boost you since you are "poor".

(and yeah - my words are harsh and merciless - but they must be - I dont mean to offend F2P ppl just show them how pointless that is. Everyone have fun whatever you do. )

  11. Been a F2P for two years and not complaining or whining. I take those f2p restrictions as an added challenge to the gameplay. Besides if I grind enough credits I can get most of the unlocks off GTN. Maybe I like the game enough to dedicate my time playing the game and farming, working to achieve what I want and the feeling of satisfaction would be more. I can only afford one subscription and that belongs to my brother who I am paying for his sub now. I'm Preffered. Using my bro's account to post on forums.

I have befriended a lot of F2P players, and all of them are decent players. Some of them are decent PvPers. Some of them even swing NiM ops like a breeze. Just pay those passes with credits and we can still enjoy the game. Not every f2p are cheapskates. In some countries dollars are worth a lot more than their currency, and believe it or not there are people who own a laptop and internet but that's all they have. I would sub if I have more money but I also have RL stuff I need to pay for.

I get a lot of discrimination from genchat (subs to general f2p players) and people who I PUG with. "How can you live with being f2p??? Gosh" Still not complaining here, just enjoying the game.

You can be ofc Decent player like that - I wont discriminate ppl like you in game, but you dont realise how wrong you are.

If you played this game for over a year grindind 2x as much to be able to afford OPS passes etc - it means you spened 1000+ hours in this game ! If you used 200 of that time and worked for exptra money - that would cover your expenses for Subscribtion and still leave you some money as a bonus - and in SWTOR with Subscriber account you would have been able to play more comfortable and achive more becouse you would not weaste that much time grindind as you did.

And that no matter what country you are from !

I am from mediocre poor country (compared to US or UK - Poland - and I am currently unemployed - but subscribtion price is only 2-3 hours work worth of money anyway - for the least payign jobs.

As i say you might be a decent player who is not a hurdle for others in game, but you wasted your own tiem both in real life and in game. Your time that is way more valuable than money. I will not aprove that ! Never !

This is childish and unresponsible way of thinking.

  12. This is a bad generalization. First off, you might think its cheap, but for someone that may be unemployed or is having to take care of family/kids maybe even a child that is special needs, that money may just not be there. So some people have to take time off subscribing and they still want to play.

Also you forget just how many Soldiers play this game, and not everyone of them can pay supscription fees.. some of them F2P while they are overseas. So dont start thinking that ALL F2P players are somehow greedy little kids.

You sound to have had bad experience with F2P players, I get that... Everyone has had to deal with players that are jerks. But to generalize all of them as greedy kids, what you do is alienate and create a mindset that may cause you to become just a big a problem as those kids that made you mad. You will treat other players baddly all because of their way of paying for the game and not them themselves or their actions. You will end up making what might be good players or fun people ticked off and or disheartned that there is no one to help them and that the only people they meet or rude and dislike them because they are unable to subscribe.

This is an issue I have heard while in the game talking to F2P players as they are in starting worlds. Some great people I have met were upset that they couldnt find any real help and the people they had met had been rude to them just because they were F2P. I have met just as many subscribers who are jerks.. and who do things people blame F2P players for. Dont overgeneralize!

    You still dont get it

If yuo CAN afford to waste 20+ hours in month playing MMO, you can also afford to pay subscribtion fee. Simple.

And dont give me BS about ppl who, play F2P a lot becouse they cannot afford becouse of their family problem unemployment etc.

If you have money problems you shouldnt waste your tame playign games to start with ! Go out and work for the money ! If you spend 40 hours in month on MMO jsut spend 5 of them doing small jobs and earn those 8$ ! OR dont eat sweets / drink vodka / smoke cigs ...

    Its simple !

You want to play for a month or 2 then quit -> dont sub at all. But dont even bother with End game.

You decided you like the game enough to spend here more of your time - go sub - otherwise you are missing out on game.

You dont have the money for sub ? - > go out and make money !

You cant go out and make money ? - > quit playing games and get a hold on your life.

    see now ?

Staying F2P after finishing story is just an example of greedy and selfish thinking in itself

    - "Give me stuff for free, I dont want to pay, and I dont intend to work for my money, but I still want to have everythign free ! "

  13. I have come across alot of people who will need on everything. There is 2 different guilds on JC that are very well known to bring along people wearing blues and greens in a FP and 16mans just so they can need on items. Its very big practice that has our guild blacklist them.

1 step to do is to explain at the beginning of the FP or OP to see what the loot rules will be. Make sure to ask if anyone is F2P and if they have done these before. Just to clarify the rules. It can also lead to good friendships with people who may be new and need help.

I got blacklisted 2nd day after game started because I was in Black Talon and Needed on an item that was an upgrade but was actually Bounty Hunter Item. I apologized and told them that I looked at the upgrades it gave and never even looked at the item itself. But the guy went off anyway.... and flew into a fit over it. (they were boots) I stopped playing that character and went Republic.....

Simple rule - avoid pugs like fire.

If you still want to do some SnV 16man SM for Coms - dont expect any human behaviour from those monkeys (not to mention - dont expect that anyone will do their job at all). Just go through it need on everything you need and prey for the high score. If you want something done right join the guild - or beter yet - find firends in game !

  14. I see no point staying in this game as F2P for longer than compleating a story is worth,

You eightrer comit yourself to playing, investing your time and emotions in what you do, or dont even weste a time and move to something else.

And yes F2P are mostly bad becouse they are mostly greedy, selfish kids trampling over everyone looking for fast enjoyment. Some eventualy grow up some dont. And yes there are subs like that but I doubt they stay in the game for long time with that attitude.

The worst kinds are anoying kids joining your guild expecting for everyone to give everything for them for free - carry them through HM ops, even as the do nothing and dont know what is intrerupt key. And when they fail at Coruptor Zero with 12 stacks of Concusion Mine they ragequit the guild, ransaking the bank, and complaining that the guild are noobs becouse they couldt get him through OPS. That ofcourse after they extorted everyone to give them free crafts / money / helping them level, and beging to give them all drops "since you have better anyway" - yes I do becouse i worked for it 2 years !

Besides Subscribtion is really cheap - I mean if you want to spend in this game some 10+ hours a week it is. If you cant do that MMOs arent for you.

  15. Agree Kolto overload is bearly usefull on NiM DF. It cannot even stop things like Afliction from killing you. And most bosses hit you for more than 30% anyway even with basic attacks. So if for exampt tank dies on Calphyus and you need to take the agro fro a few seconds for healers to res them your kolto overload wont give you **** wihtout shield.

But I still stand by the point that DPS Powertech needs Jet Charge, you have low dps anyway and you still waste a lot of time jsut running from add to add. Not to mention Corruptor Zero Mine on Nim - which you haqve to drop ASAP, and if you are 30m from the boss when it hits you ...

  16. Since when did shoulder cannon contribute 650dps to AP?

if you shorten Shoulder Cannon cd by half, you could actualy spam it every minute. Maybe I exaggerated a bit - but DPS improvement would be HUGE from just that - at least 150 -200 DPS improvement.

Al AP needs is easier access to Jet charge (like making Jet Charge in 2nd tier of shield tech tree), and 5-10% damage more on Immolate n Rocket Punch.

  17. Thx seems legit.

I could probably drop that interrupt cd tallent when doing NiM - since on Draxus u have debuff anyway.

But I think I will keep damage reduction. I can switch of Harmstring in NiM too.

    Thx for good advice.

btw my 6/40/0 build is what I use for Daylies/FP etc. in Nim OPS some things are redundant I agree.

And from what I hear best parses on Dummy are made on Pyrotech anyway.

  18. Hi guys

I recently tried myself first time on Operation Dummy.

I mena i run a lot of Hm NiM Operations before so I know I was at least decent, but It is the first time I recordem my score for comparison. Outside of my Guild.

    BTW I scored 3313 with powertech DPS - 6/40/0 build ; ] - my gear is full 180 no 186 yet.

So I am wondering how are my scores compared to what is expected from DPS with similar gear.

The scores on Torparse are for ppl with the best gear possible, and I see that most ppl use Pyrotech build on Dummy.

So what do you think about that score - good, ok, can I somehow check the scores of ppl in 180 gear to compare myslef with them ?
