  1. High forum activity and claiming this = bored troll.
  2. I think I'll play. Oh wait I can't because of this staggered launch.
  3. Tryhard troll #1. @songofprecept: you are #2, don't worry.
  4. It doesn't. Instanced zones can be run on a separate server - there isn't a Coruscant server where every single instance of Coruscant is run, it can be split up, otherwise the solution would be totally useless. @Eital: This morning a friend told me there were 37 republic players logged on his server. I do think they need to be more flexible in how many and how often their waves are.
  5. People who want to play the game.
  6. Strain on realms was what the mentioned weekend beta stress test was for. The realms can handle it, and will have to handle it after release during peak hours. If the player load in a zone is too much, instanced zones are in place, and if there are too many players overall a server queue is in place. A server queue of people who actually are trying to play as opposed to a selection of people who may or may not be trying to play.
  7. SWtOR uses instanced zones to alleviate over-crowding.
  8. Woah, new trolling techniques, never seen before on a forum.
  9. Apologist scrub #6491. How many more of you are there? It would be really witty for someone to reply to this with 'EGA complainer #xxx', difference is, one set of people have a complaint about something they disagree with, another is just a group of trolls/flamers/fanboys who are just as bored as the first group waiting for their early access.
  10. Server queues and instanced starting zones were something that seemed to relieve starter zone crowding (I didn't find the beta bad in terms of crowding, even on the weekend beta). I was going to power level to 50, the leveling race in MMOs is pretty fun, the EGA has really removed the incentive for me and with that some of the fun - not sleeping for a couple of days to get to 50 isn't something I'm going to do when people are 20+ levels ahead of me from the start. Competition is where I find the fun in an MMO, this has been affected for me, hence my complaints.
  11. Why not just stop everyone who didn't pre-order on the first day from ever playing the game.
  12. If the access is based solely on when you pre-ordered, then they should be able to give you a pretty good idea of when you will be let in, so far nothing so I'm having to check every wave. I thin the EGA method is bad enough, but obviously they won't change it now. They could at least give people a good idea of when they will be in, instead of letting us guess based on asking people who are already in when they pre-ordered so we know around where BW is up to in terms of letting people in.
  13. It's a fact, not an opinion, that with this method there will be people let in who aren't even trying to play, which is unfair to players who actually want to play but can't try.
  14. It's not the same, if you want to play you should be able to queue and wait to play. You shouldn't have to wait for access behind a load of other people who won't potentially be playing. The server has queues so it doesn't crash, and the servers will have to handle full loads during peak time after launch, so they can handle just pre order players now. I don't know about you but I haven't seen much on these forums in the way of praising this.
  15. Number of constructive replies giving reasons why this method of EGA is worth using: 0 It's funny how this community is already trashing the WoW community when you are just as bad as they are. Full of trolls and flamers.
  16. Not everyone shares your view which is evident by the amount of forum activity relating to this. The fact I will be able to play sometime in the next 6 days, but I have no indication when isn't something I'm happy with, if they are going to use this trash from of EGA, at least tell me when I will be able to play.
  17. Wipe the forums of QQ, way to respect your community. People are annoyed because of the way something was handled, ignoring it then acting like it didn't happen isn't the best way to treat your community.
  18. Did you forget about instanced zones? Sorry but you are wrong.
  19. I don't like how this has been handled at all, what's worse is the apologists on this forum constantly trying to justify this to aggravated players (can we even call them that since they aren't able to play? hurrhurr). The servers were stress tested in the beta weekend, and everyone was let in at once, I found there to be very little in the form of server stability issues here - sure there were queues, but these are the lesser of two evils, though I'm getting ahead of myself and will get to queues later. Anyway, the beta weekend was fine letting people in all at once, and if people are let in all at once now, I don't see how that is going to be worse than any peak time after release. My point is, the servers should be able to handle it, and queues are in place to make sure they don't get overloaded. Queues versus the arbitrary first come first serve wave system. There is one huge flaw with the system being used, in that it is effectively one big queue, but not all the players in the queue will necessarily be able to play when they are let in. With traditional queues, you are waiting behind other players who wan't to play and are waiting to do so. With this, there will no doubt be a lot of people effectively in front of you in the queue who are let in and then don't even play. This is in my opinion the main flaw, if people want to play, they should be able to queue and be given their place in the queue (woohoo we are foreshadowing the next point), that way players who aren't trying to play aren't in the queue. Next up is the way people are being let in, 'waves' of people let in throughout the day. Firstly I'm told by people that there are very few people actually on the server (at least the server they are on) sometimes which leads me to believe that the previous point (people not actually playing after being let in) is occurring, or that simply not enough people are being let in. Who could blame people for not playing once let in though? When you are given no indication of when you will be allowed to play, instead you have to check throughout the day each time a wave is released. Patch days are a similar scenario in which lots of players will be trying to log onto empty servers at once eager to access new content, I doubt that this method would be used for them though so why do it now. The point of this thread? I just think the EGA method is trash and I can't see a reason to do it like this, maybe someone can point a legitimate one out.
  20. What a crap way to launch your EGA lol... I'm potentially waiting 'behind' people who have access but are at work or unaware they have access etc. At least with mass server queues I know I'm waiting behind other people who are actually trying to play the game.
  21. Really disappointing how this has been done to be honest. I planned to power level to 50, but server first is out the window because a load of others will be let in first. Now I am stuck checking constantly if I'm in or not because there is no estimate at all, really great fun. This first come first serve thing is atrocious unless you are a fan boy or an apologist.
