  1. The tips for Novare Coast are great. I am starting to see this trend as well. Watching where the other team goes and capture the other node. What are the thoughts on sending a stealth or two to the other sides battery and trying to take that? Im not so sure about holding it as its closer to the teams spawn point and will most likely be retaken, but it would give you time to cement the other two batteries.
  2. Hello all, I was hoping to start a discussion on advanced pvp. I have seen many guides explaining the basics, but what are some neat tricks that you use to help win warzones? I'll start off with some that i've found help win the match. Voidstar - Attacking The name of the game here is DPS. Your team is spawning back at a ridiculous rate so even healers should be dpsing a bit here. Alternatively, if you a really good stealth or two have them attack the other door. I cant count the # of times our team has had our stealth go over and try for the door and a non stealth goes over and brings half the team. If your not stealth keep pressure on the main zerged door! Stay away from the other side your only making the stealths life harder. - Defending As the name implies its all about defense here. The pillars right outside the spawn entrance are a great place to set up camp as you can easily LOS the enemy and keep an eye on the door. Dont chase anyone. "But their a healer!" Who cares they'll be back in undeer 10 seconds after you kill them anyways. Your goal here should be a stalemate. If your range dont you dare stand in front of the door. I see this way too much. Post up on the defending side of the pillar and rain hell on people. - Alderaan Depending on how your team is set up we like to go 1 of 2 ways. If you playing with a mediocre team send two over to left and the rest to zerg mid. Have a range split off from left and jump on the wall seperating mid from left. Keep an eye on left but annoy the apposing team from your perch. If you get the slightest hint of opposition going left jump back down and get over there. If you have some good players in good gear ( especially stealth ) send one or two over to right. This will still allow mid to slow down the opposing team tremendously and hopefully let right cap. You can still send the one range from left over onto the wall to help stall / annoy the other team. - Huttball Its all about position here. Alot of people are still playing team death match here and thats sad. Have a sage sprint over the acid at the beggining and automatically throw the ball to a tank, Healers focus on the ball carrier while everyone else should be running ahead for passes / rescues / taking the stuns or knockbacks so the ball carrier doesnt have too. Why are you standing behind the ball carrier! You are wrong. The only time you should be fighting people 1 on 1 is when there is 1 or two people who are smashing you. Lock them down if you have to but know they'll be right back. Sometimes its better not to send someoene back dead. If you can keep them busy instead they wont respawn and possibly hinder the ball carrier at the goal with defense. WIth that being said it depends on who close the ball is. When defending this shouldnt have to be said but dont stand in a position where you enemy can jump up to you avoiding the traps. Shadow / Assassins / PT / Vanguards should be saving their pull for getting the ball carrier into the fire. Healers go unnoticed sometimes while everyone is focused on the ball carrier. Try to take them out of the game for a bit or focus on healing themselves. It all depends on how well they are keeping the ball carrier up. New Warzone This is still new so I for one do not feel i have mastered the different tactics needed to secure a win everytime in this. We have been using 2 west / zerg mid. The main point to remember this is keeping people from channeling on your battery. Its easy to see so keep watch on who's doing it. Alternatively make sure you keep it capped to full so your team can keep ticking towards victory. All around good tips for every warzone Situational awareness is the key to winning in every warzone. You should be keeping an eye on how many are where / who's defending or attacking what / who's health is going down where / what defensive position is vulnerable. Communication is pivitol. Call out how many are going where. Dont wait until you are dead to call out. Stay out of the DPS / healing tunnel vision zone. The point where you get so focused on killing or healing someone that you forget whats going on in the warzone. This is probably the hardest thing to do but its what really seperates the average from the stellar. Keybinding is very important unless you are so good at clicking that you dont have to look where you click. Key binding allows you to keep your eye on the prize and gets your abilities off faster. In conclusion play smart :-) Truth Return to Sender Dalborra
  3. Nothing special, no tricks, just a typical healer build imho. Feel free to give any opinions on what you feel is stronger / more needed. I find this one to work for me. It must be noted that I am full Battlemaster geared ( But then again who isnt? Haha ) http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#800rfRoodcdkqZrcoM.1 Truth Return to Sender Dalborra
  4. Since 1.2 I have seen a massive amount of hate posts regarding the changes to commando / merc healing and healing classes in general. Having played combat medic in 140 warzones wins and counting since 1.2 I believe i have found a great niche for our class. While yes I cannot run into the middle of a team and drop heal bombs out lasting 2-3 DPS ( Most of whom dont interrupt :-/ ) I have found that I can still contribute a great deal to my teams success. What I have started doing is being an objective watcher. At the start of the warzone I will immediately go wherever the mob doesnt. In Alderaan this is ussually left, in voidstar whichever door is not being zerged, in dalborra west, and in huttball its business as usual healing the ball carrier. I have found that this is the place where we need to be. I can still keep myself and one other person up against 2 people regardless of class / role. If 3 come we can hold off long enough for reinforcements to arrive. We are suited much better then going with the mass of folks to zerg from one point to another. A sage or operative healer is better suited to go along with the mass as they have better escape mechanisms then we do. I know alot will find this boring, but remember pvp is about objectives. Its not team death match. You wont put up the big #'s but people will realize that you are contributing greatly to winning the game. Claim your node / door / artillery battery and dont give it up for anything! Truth Return to Sender Dalborra
