It's not a story any Jedi will tell you. It's a Sith legend. Darth Sidious was a Dark Lord of the Sith. He was so powerful, he could create planet wide Force Storms with his mind, before crushing them with worm holes. He had such a knowledge of the Dark Side. He could even display such a genius in strategy, & tact, that he turned The Chosen One to the Dark Side, made him his apprentice while ruling over his hated foe nation & order covertly.
Naturally, the only thing that could stop him was his own extreme noob arrogance. Which of course it did. For while on his Death Star, the fit noob arrogance was so overwhelming, he forgot what a crafty genius he was, & about the bond shared between father & son that he had previously even warned that very father about.
His apprentice then snuck up on him, & threw him down a miles wide shaft.
Be wary young Sithlings, if you can't see your apprentice in your current line of sight, turn about, & short him out before returning to torture his son until he turns like you should have.....

Darth Vader caught him off guard and threw him down a reactor shaft, Luke took him and defeated him full on in a far more powerful incarnation of Sidious.
I'm of the opinion Sidious was at his best when he.....you know.....had his own real body. I've yet to really read up on the post timeline (cuz from what I've seen so far looks really stupid & uber), but if Luke did accomplish that then they're 1-1. Lest we forget how Sidious wtflol pwned Luke on the Death Star.
Teach him his technique of absorbing lightning, Yoda did not. Failed he did.....

The description and hints suggest that she either survived or her essence remained intact.
This sounds far too familiar for it to be just simply a coincidence.

Well in all honesty I think only if he started to reach the size of potential that Luke had reached in Dark Empire, would Anakin ever be able to take on Sidious.
Sidious kind of trumped all the Jedi, there was only one Lightsaber form that could stop him, Vaapad, because it deflected his Dark power, all the others were useless against him, but even then, all he needs to do is pull out his Force prowess and he defeats everybody including Yoda.
Only Luke could take him.
A battle for teh agez....

If potential could be considered Power, then perhaps, but it isn't and can't, so yes, Sidious was superior in every single way to Anakin.
Would've been interesting to see Anakin try it & see if he coulda made Sidious break a sweat tho. I also see your point tho. Anakin was 'the chosen one' after all. A couple years of teaching under Mace, or Yoda & maybe if again put in that situation.

I have ALWAYS preferred the Sith. My 1st thought when choosing to sample the Republic side after my Sorc was "...Dark Jedi time"
It's a blast, & yes, sooo good being bad.

Hmmm, which server?
Kaiburr Crystal. But yea enjoy, as it's easy too. I went for a Dark Guardian over Sentinel. I enjoy the massive amount of armor, & the damage reduction capabilities of this spec.
I'm trying to play as close to an Anakin like fall as I can. My DS JK is mostly bout getting paid, & killing for glory, & revenge.

He knew Anakin wouldn't attack, he had manipulated him to being a father figure and gave him hope to save Padme. Anakin was too weak to attack Palpatine, even if he was more powerful.
....Does not make sense.

Lol well no Dark Lord is ever interested in that happening to them. Happens when they can no longer help it. When the apprentice becomes more powerful. But Vader still seemed to be much his master's lesser then.
