  1. I have just returned from watching Episode 1 in 3D, and I am completely baffled at some of the major plot points, among other things. I watched the midnight premiere back in its original release, and as a kid, I enjoyed it... Of course I enjoyed it, its Star effin Wars. This doesnt mean however that you can have such a stupid plot line up the rest of the saga.

    1) The biggest plot hole is the decision for a vote of "No Confidence" in the former Supreme Chancellor. If he was backed by greedy corporations or bureaucrats, then while the hell would Amidala's proposal even get acknowledged, let alone get accepted? That makes absolutely no sense.

    Read the novel Darth Plagueis

    2) The whole midichlorian thing to explain the power of the Force.... I dont need to explain this, and if I do, you are on the wrong forum. Its dumb, pointless, and backwards.

It doesn't explain the Force, just why a Jedi can access it and others can't, read Darth Plagueis.

    3) As technologically advanced as this universe is... Why did no one believe Amidala during her Senate hearing that Naboo was actually invaded?? I guess this galaxy has no form of media whatsoever.

Again, read Darth Plagueis, and realize there was a blockafe and communications blackout.

    4) The whole Anakin blowing up a Trade Federation control ship is absurd...

To each their own, it was ridiculous that they built a massive ship the size of a moon too.

    5) The lack of an actual main character baffles me too. If anyone knows who the real main character is in Episode 1, please explain this to me.

Doesn't need one. A New Hope didn't have one until 20 minutes in.

Other gripes, be it small or big, I guess:

No Han Solo-ish type characters in the prequels. We get to see plenty of bounty hunters, but no daring, charming character.. Although I feel like young Obi-Wan was quite charming throughout, just not the same as Han is.

Jar Jar is the Han, except unlike Han, he isn't brave or sly, just what we would be acting like if thrown on a Jedi adventure.

Do Jedi, or better yet, anyone in the future, not mind the smell of burning flesh? Theres better ways to burn a body..

Haha, it had to smell horrible in there.

I am not sure whether every cast member just did their absolute worse, or if the direction Lucas wanted were for cardboard acting... No one displays emotion.. I get the reason behind Jedi, as well as Queen Amidala, but Shmi? Padme? Especially Padme, through this character the Queen can say or show her emotions as she pleases. When C-3P0 shows more emotion than your actors.... Something may be wrong.

    On the plus side:

    Podracing!

    Duel of the Fates!

    Qui-Gon Jinn! = Liam Neeson

    Natalie Portman!

    ::End gripes::

My Mandalorian armor isn't done or I'd use that. ;)

  3. No planet to planet travel would be possible, short of between Coruscant and Carrick statio, Dromund Kaas and their fleet and Nar Shaada and Nal Hutta. What your saying just adds another step to travel and thus another loading screen. There is no point in exploring in space. It's blackness with a bunch of Stars or insane amounts of dev time to make unique stuff to explore that will feel like clutter.

"Traveling through hyperspace ain't like dusting crops, boy! Without precise calculations we could fly right through a star or bounce too close to a supernova, and that'd end your trip real quick, wouldn't it?"

You can't pilot manually in hyperspace (short of those who chart hyperspace routes in the first place), so the only time you could do it is in real space. Not much reason for that except PvP space combat.

  4. Although I like day and night cycles, you also have to remember that they would have to change all that in the cutscenes as well to match the day/night cycle. That might not be an easy thing to do. I don't know because I don't work for them.

That said, if they're really going to put some effort into something aesthetic that can also be extremely useful, I'd like to see them go ahead and complete their UI revision so I can have more bars on the bottom, and be able to resize/move UI elements.

I'll take that first, then there's a large list to complete, then we can start worrying about the in-game weather and other aesthetic elements.

Not only would it not be easy, the cut scenes were designed with the current sky in mind, some cut scenes would lose impact they otherwise had from a planet's perpetual day/night

  5. The best part of this is people complaining about painted back grounds are probably also the people who think George Lucas ruined Star Wars by -gasp- fixing things the that matte paintings, no matter how wonderfully painting, can not do.
  6. Problem is, some planets were designed to look better at different times. Having Coruscant having nightime would be cool, but why have day on a planet designed to to look cool at night (Nar Shaddaa). Dromund Kaas is stated to be perpetually dark for canon reasons. Quesh looks great with an orange sky, why take that away?

Not to mention planets differing day/night cycles and atmospheric makeup. Coruscant has a 24, which works out dandy. But then you have Tatooine with two suns and a 23 hour rotational period (Same for Hoth). Nar Shaddaa and Hutta's is 87 hours. Tython is 31.5 hours. Logistically, doing a properly immersive day and night system would be a nightmare.

Who cares about realism is stylized realism looks cooler? Why not remove sound from space combat to add to the immersion of space?

  7. Pretty standard hybrid. I would take the points from blockout and put it in forcewake though, I love that root (especially around fire/acid). Also I'm surprised with the points in inner strength instead of mental longevity. I don't know about the exact math, but I seem to have less force regen issues with a larger pool rather than 9% force cost.

So Force Wake does root targets in PvP? If so I'll switch the point over to that. The reason I went with Inner strength is a reduced cost + the force regen from Disturbance + the 1% force point restoration from TT means I almost never go below 50% of force points short of when I need to self heal.
