  1. Go to the top right of the page (when logged in) and left click on your name (it's yellow with a solid down facing triangle.)

You'll see you thumbnail, and to the right, Private messages, subscriptions, my account etc

Click on your thumbnail, and you will come to your "page". Click statistics and choose threads or posts :)

  2. I've had no problems with F2P people. In fact, I don't even ask. Yes you get the odd person who is new to this game, or MMO's in general, but who cares. Everyone has a first day.

By all means, you sound like you've had shockingly bad luck with some players (I assume you ask each and every person if they are free to play, or this thread would be baseless!) But my personal experience does not mirror that.

As for your server not grouping with F2P or accepting them into guilds, that's nasty

  3. Dunno, I could probably top that one. Shame I didn't screencap it, would have been a chuckle.

"Reporting your team for speedhack! Enjoy your ban <insert general internet swearword and insults>

    .........Predition......

I always save them for when people call incs :)

  4. I see hackers all the time!

Entire teams using speed hacks where they run 50% faster.

Entire teams in stealth, even non stealth classes.

Characters that stealth away then come back with half their health recovered

Sith assassins that disappear from one location and immediately appear in another.

Commandos that can't be slowed down.

They should be banned for using these cheats to win games over my team!

    ;)

    This made me smile :)

  5. It takes both the company AND the player base to deal with naming violations.

Company: stipulate policy in writing. Enforce policy.

Players: Report naming policy violations using the in game /report system so it's logged and routed to the appropriate game enforcers. If you don't, enforcement is almost impossible as there is no effective way to do it electronically and no company is going to station name police inside the servers to look for naming policy violations.

As to the offender in question... if he get's dirt_napped on that name.. get ready for his cousin "fourdollars" and maybe his long lost cousn "sixpesos".. because you know it's coming :p For all we know.. there's already a pricing war on the server. :p:p

Ok, that bold bit made me laugh.

And you're right, it takes both company and players to enforce these things. Which is why we (as RP'ers) have been asking for RP naming policies for a long time. So that we have more powers to report. :)

  6.

But as you and others say, if no one reports them, BWEA won't do anything.

    Pretty much this.

While the poster above me does make a good point of it being hard for the company to police. He does make a good point that it is upto the players to do something about it.

  7. Some people RP differently then others. What makes your RP so damn important?

I am usually very easy going with RP names. Even more easy going on how people RP. That said, no matter how people spin it, "Suckyfivedollar" is NOT a role play name.

In my OP, I gave an example of how a name such as "Dagger" could be seen as RP, or "Shadowkiller" even (especially for a Sin :p). But, that name in the pic, is clearly not.

    Edit:

And I know I come off Trollish. But I dont sugar coat for people. Its the same in most MMOs...At some point, we as players need to not always have the company hold our hands through the game and save us every time someone is "mean" or "annoying"... let people make stupid names. As long as you like your character's name and story, etc....then its all good.

We're not asking for hand holding. We're asking for some small, easy to go by rules to prevent situations like these. If that person did not wish to put any effort into RP, why roll on that server?

I expect if they had no vote to kick for FP's, you would ask BW for some kind of way to help you enjoy your gametime

  8. Hello everyone and welcome to the Off-Topic Forum! I wanted to explain a little bit about this forum, our intent in opening it, and the rules that exist around the forum.

We think we have a pretty awesome community here on the forums and we know that sometimes, you might not want to talk about just SWTOR with your friends that you made here. Maybe you want to talk about your favorite pizza topping, or your favorite rollercoaster. Now you can. The sole purpose of this forum is to talk about subjects which simply don't involve SWTOR.

On occasion, you will also see not only the Community team in here, but it is also our goal to get some other folks from around the studio to jump in and join the conversation. Of course that won't take away from any development time or anything, but it is a fun opportunity to see the more human side of some of us here in the studio.

With that being said, there are some rules which must be followed. Basically, all of the normal rules of the forums apply except for the topic must be about SWTOR. Here are a few rules I want to call attention to specifically.

    • Discussion of religion is not permitted.
    • Discussion of politics is not permitted.
    • Call outs of any type are not allowed.
    • Always remain respectful towards other forum members, even if you have dissenting opinions.

You should treat this forum as if it was any other forum here on the site. Report any posts which you feel are in breach of the forum rules and breaking a forum rule can lead to a warning or infraction respectively.

I look forward to seeing you in the forums!

    -eric

Awesome, thank you Eric. Incidentally, what is your favorite pizza topping? Mine is pineapple, mushroom, jalapenos and red onion (with lots of cheese!) Yum!!

  9. For the healers; they couldn't stop us from running orbs or taking pylons. Our kill counts were truly embarrassingly low, but I'll take my x5 round win any day of the week!

What?! What did you expect this thread to say? :jawa_tongue:

    Aggressors Vs pacifists.

Your little match kinda shows poor Gandhi had it all wrong :D

  10. In this particular case...just /report the name. That name is offensive as it has connotations that violate the ToS.

As for RP naming policy..there is none.. so there is nothing to enforce. You don't have to like it, but that's the way it is.

As an aside.. you break forum rules if you post directly or indirectly information about any character or name in the forums.

Yes, I know there are no rules enforcing naming policies in RP servers. That said, I (and many other RP players) would very much like some, and this is a clear (if not, extreme) demonstration why. :)

I'll need to check up on your last point in the ToS, but you're probably right. However, it's not like this player has any issue publicly running around with "Suckyfivedollar" above his/her head. :(

  11. ok. fine....ill be the one to say it...ITS AN RP SERVER....no one cares. they made rp servers to keep the freaks away from the people that love to play the game and be social. lol. If you dont like someones name? uh ok here is an idea...put em on ignore list, or ignore it personally, or move on.

It's attitudes like that which demonstrates why we ask for some form of naming policy for RP servers. Thank you for demonstrating my point so delicately.

  12. Mine would have to be part of the SW storyline, purely for it's dramatic effect.

When you realize you just fought the decoy and the base is about to explode. You manage to sneak into the bunker to find your target

If you pick dark side, you reach for your saber. Then, a shot from outside the bunker shows just the giant door of the closed room. You hear the *vrooom* aarrrgggg *pew pew* *crash* SSSHHHKKZZZ* AAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!

Then the doors open, with just you and your companion walking out

    after the blast

    Very chilling :)

  13. Next time you log in, go to server select.

Theres a big warning about how names wont be enforced.

Your server is better off than some of the others though, be thankful for that :)

Yes, it states clearly at the bottom (even double checked to see if memory served correctly :)

However, it's names like this which cause me to openly ask for some form of (loose) naming policy in RP servers.

    Edit:

We always, in our guild, like to find the worst names and share them on Vent. We call one the winner and send them 5 credits in the mail. LOL

Or, you could report it, I guess.

Tbh, I usually laugh them off. But this one me mega mad!!!!!!! :rak_04:
