  1. Sure 50s are trucks--- but if youre not a 50-- youre still leveling. Give it time and lvl up and you too could be a 50 melting face. It doesnt take THAT long. For everyone else-- I rarely find anyone in a bg higher lvl than me and feel like there is nothing I can do to kill or at least neutralize that person in some way. The bonus system they use is fine. The real problem, at this point, is that certain classes are outperforming other classes as a whole. They need to nerff those classes or buff the others to make everything more level and then you will see things become pretty fair I think.
  2. Most are complaining about it because they get the same map over and over. So they QQ without thinking about WHY theyre getting it over and over again. Mainly, because its the only map that allows for cross faction teams-- and with huge faction imbalances, youre more likely to get stuck playing it over and over again if youre on the larger faction. What I would like to see in the future: More cross faction maps. The ability to que for specific maps (Ill admit that the reason I want this is so people will see how long the que time is for the other maps and realize how sweet huttball was for getting into PVP quickly as opposed to hour long ques). In huttball itself-- I would like a more intelligent ball passing mechanic. It would be nice if when you hit it--- it would auto throw to the furthest team mate in the forward direction with the highest health, or something like that, within X yards-- or the currently selected team mate if one is selected. I also think it would be cool if there was a way to sometimes throw players off the upper walkway if theyve been up there for so long. It gives range a huge benefit on that map and I find the most useful thing I can do as an assassin sometimes is just not the sorc. and bounty hunters off the top so my team can kill them. Only problem is there is no reward for doing so outside of a possible win-- which is nice-- but Id like to get some credit for it too.
  3. Not likely. PVP isnt why people left WOW. Its not why people came to Old Republic. PVPers are already playing other PVP games-- mostly console-- that focus solely on PVP. PVE is the bread and butter of any MMO that stands the test of time-- and few do. So far, TOR looks to be the first game since wow to do that-- and its hit a million players faster than any other game including wow. We could use a couple of new Huttball like maps to allow for more variation in maps--- but for the most part, pvp is actually pretty good. I was worried about the lack of brackets-- and while 50s do smash face in-- for the most part lvls dont matter in pvp. A good lvl 20 player can smash in a bad lvl 40 thanks to the buff system they have in place. Furthermore, the teams are usually pretty balanced. Sure one team might smash the others face---but I have yet to get into a map where I felt like it HAD to be that way. Usually it because youre on a team thats more worried about kills than winning, or is just making dumb plays. Bio cant fix stupid.
  4. The game is fun as is. We dont need this to become wow 2......... wow 1 is now dead because people are tired of it. What made wow so great was its early days---- when casuals and hardcore players could both play together and have a good time. We have that now with TOR, taking a step away from that and adding a complication that isnt necessary is only going to widen that gap between player groups again. Keep it where it is, Bio------------- your initial success speaks for itself.
  5. I havent played one, but juggernauts seem pretty decent in pvp. Ive been told theyre horrible in pve-- but they often rank well and make for great ball carriers in huttball.
  6. What this guy said. I love Huttball. Its unique and feels innovative, and I really hope we get more battlegrounds like it in the future. Why?.......... for the same reason some of you hate it. You see-- the reason you guys are getting huttball sooooooooooo much is because of faction population problems. If they removed huttball-------- instead of getting into battlegrounds really fast like you do now-- you would instead be sitting in 30-50 min ques like you sometimes did in wow. Instead, if you really are PVPer and enjoy the act of PVP---- youre able to get into a pvp zone very quickly thanks to Huttball. Now, if you want to help fix the problem--- you could always reroll the other faction.
  7. umm there is no endgame in pvp. New to pvp much? But alas--- come on people, the game has barely launched and we have some great pvp maps. The real focus for awhile, and it should be, is probably going to be on making sure everything is balanced class wise and in developing end game pve content. However, Im sure we will eventually get some more pvp maps--- and when we do, there is a good chance they will be huttball like as well. IE-- fun and game kind of maps that enable faction vs faction in a way that makes sense. There are some severe imbalance issues with factions that cant easily be resolved short of find new ways to make people want to reroll. Because of that-- its pretty much a given that these are the kinds of maps that will have to be developed if theyre going to let people enjoy the any new maps that they might invest their resources in.
  8. Been doing PVP to kill time. I enjoy it for what it is, and will not sit here and say Im any kind of PVP expert. But I have noticed that the charts in map after map after map is usually dominated by sorc assassins and bounty hunters ( I havent payed enough attention to notice if its one build or multiple). It would seem that range with these 2 classes and the damage they deal is a little off balance. Its one thing if its one guy-- a good player is just a good player. But when it starts to become the trend in every map-- it becomes clear that the chances are pretty low that every great PVPer just happend to roll those 2 builds. I dont know that the answer is to nerff them, but there must be a way to bring them in line.
  9. MVP votes needs to go away. Its more about friends than performance. Team success is how it needs to be. I think theyre doing this right. If you feel that youre getting bad teams and that youre so good that the problem cant be you-- go premade. No ones stopping you. But the objectives here are team based--- not solo based. The rewards should go to the TEAM that plays like one best.
  10. Let me offer up a couple of counter arguments: 1) An in game economy where people can easily get their old gold negates the need for buying it 2) buying said gold is the most common way to get your account, credit card, etc hacked and stolen/used/account banned. Add those numbers up.
  11. I agree. The story is excellent. I dont want to skip parts I havent seen, just parts I have seen already. I just cant remember which parts give points and which dont, so I was affraid to skip blindly and risk a loss of points.
  12. Nah, my interest is for areas that Ive already done on other toons. I enjoy the story VERY much, but sometimes if Ive already done something I dont have the desire to do it again more than need be---- if that makes sense. Other times, like I am now, Im in a hurry to catch my bro so that I can start leveling with him and so that Im not holding him up too much but I dont want to miss out on rep points.. that sort of thing.
  13. Hey everyone! I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a penalty for skipping conversations? I know that in some conversations there are opportunities to earn light/dark side points or even companion points-- but I also found out that if you hit the space bar you can skip through conversations for faster leveling. Being new, I dont know which conversations result in a possible gain of points, so Ive been too affraid to use this option. If you skip, do you lose the chance to answer? Or will it just skip dialogue that has no real consequences? Any help is appreciated!
