  1. Unfortunately, they already killed off the best [new] character ....

I don't think he is dead because Pau'ans have two stomachs so that can be some sort of plot armor. Then again he didn't look exactly like a Pau'an. Could make him come back towards the end of the series and go after Reva. I have a hunch Reva will turn "good" per se. Besides the grand inquisitor is in SW Rebels so unless it's just a title that's held by the highest rank, which coincidently would be held by another Pau'an (highly unlikely or would work if he wasn't really a Pau'an) then the whole scenario breaks cannon. However, Disney has been known to retcon Legends and Canon to fit storylines. We'll see.

They are happy enough to retcon Legends, but they are a lot more cautious about retconning canon.

They do do it for small things, (ex. Ahsoka/Maul duel) but

An entire, rather significant character appearing 5 years after he is killed? Nope, not happening.

Don't really even need to use Pau'an plot armour. Just regular plot armour worked fine for Fennec Shand, who received the same kind of injury.

So no, 99% chance the Grand Inquisitor isn't dead, nor is he even a new character as the previous poster suggested. Just new to live action...

  2. The fact that he WTFPWNED Darth Maul in seconds ?

That occurred approximately 8 years in the future from this point in time.

The Obi-wan we have here is not the same one we had in Ep III or Ep IV (which is basically the same as Rebels Obi-wan)

Shows need character development. What would the point of the show be if he had already made that full transition? what development could be done?

The trailers already made it perfectly clear this was Obi-wan at his lowest.

Now he grows (if the writers have any sense at all anyway)

  3. New species must:

    1. Speak Basic

    2. Have human sized/shaped models (that is, fit all existing armour, with heads being the exception)

    3. Be romanceable by the existing humanoids (aka, "kissable lips")

    Wookiees fail all 3

So best you could hope for would be a bonus chapter type of deal like Shroud of Memory

    /request (for the thousandths time...)

  4. Not an upgrade at this point. If AMD had one more generation coming id agree 100% AM4 is a dead platform

On intel I have an upgrade path. I can move to 13th gen Raptor Lake later if I choose. Also I will have all the new upcoming features with the z690 boards. Its just a smarter investment atm.

14th gen may be LGA 1700 too we dont know yet. But we know for sure raptor lake is.

Depends on your personal hardware refresh cycle

For most people, this is about every 3-5 years, which makes generational support on Intel completely irrelevant (which updates usually every 2 years or so).

So realistically speaking, for most people the "in the moment" biggest bang for their buck is the optimal choice (which could go either way these days)

  5. 2. The trends seen here (increases and decreases in percent) are representative for all players, because the sample-size on steam is a statistically significant group.

how can you prove that ?

Think of it this way, election polls will typically have a sample size of a few thousand people (at least where I live) to provide a sample.

This represents a tiny fraction of a percent of the general population, and it is statistically significant.

It is safe to assume that Steam makes up a far higher portion of the population than an election poll would, so claiming that steam charts are statistically significant is a pretty safe claim.

That being said, statistical significance can say many things. As the old saying goes, there are "lies, dam lies, and statistics"

IE. by selectively choosing what dates you are comparing, the charts can say very different things. (ex. before and after expansion numbers vs year over year numbers)

  6. As far as I'm aware, there never has been a truly definitive answer to this

In TCW, it was Yoda's assertion that Bane could only be an illusion (which he proved correct on in that case)

The article linked also makes the assertion that these wraiths were in fact spirits, and not just manifestations of Palpatine's will and control

Neither of these are actually definitely stated as true as far as I'm aware. They are opinions (both in and out of universe)

So while it does seem likely, the door is still open for new lore to turn this assumption on it's head.

  7. Ok, that's definitely a bug, and I don't think anyone (even support) can help you really.

You could try resetting the chapter to see if it helps, but otherwise, you'll just have to wait for the bug to be fixed, or run through the chapter with him naked (companion stats are not affected by gear, so it shouldn't be any harder)

You should check the known issues list and if it's not present, file a bug report though.

  8. We're going to need a lot more details than that.

Where are they dying? how are they dying (just random instant death or the actual content is killing you in combat?), what are you doing when you die?

  9. Server merges are... troublesome... to put it mildly.

Name conflicts being a big one for a lot of people. Also means you effectively "lose" character slots unless they double the amount you currently have (fat chance of that)

The population of both SS and SF are perfectly healthy as it is, there is no reason to add additional problems for what margin improvement there might be in queue times.

  10. As Fossman said, this isn't the appropriate place for this, there isn't anything we can do.

Anecdotally the best results come from the support email, support@swtor.com. Email them with the details, including credit card transaction record showing you were billed for the 6 month sub at a specific date. If steam sent you any confirmation, or you can look up any transactions there, that might help too (I do my sub through swtor.com so I'm not exactly sure what records are kept for steam subs)

Note, you'll need to send them the email from the same address as is attached to your SWTOR account.

This shouldn't be too hard for them to sort out.

  11. Assuming the issue in question is the lost origin story from the linked thread, there isn't anything we can do here

What you need to do is review the email you sent them and confirm it contains all the information as requested by Jackie without the added complaints about their CSR, which are not relevant (preventing duplicate tickets being created is a necessary system to keep trolls and harassers at bay) and might very well trigger automatic filters if the content is problematic

If you have received no response to the email within 72 hours (I think is their response window), then email them a followup, with the details Jackie requested only

EDIT: Oh and forgot to mention, make sure the email you are sending from is the email on your SWTOR account, or they won't be able to verify who you are.

  12. just coming back from a 7 year break and it seems I'm getting terrible FPS in PvP (in game shows RED fps numbers, so GPU?) I feel like my old rig 7 years ago ran PvP Warzones NO problem but for whatever reason my new rig is struggling. No idea why. I've experimented with shadows off, bloom off, etc and nothing seems to work. My current rig is a GTX 1080 (slightly overclocked) and an Intel Core i7 4790 3.60 GHz. Monitoring my core usage it seems like my last core (#3) is always at 85-99% usage while other cores remain fairly unused (like 10% or less).

Is there anything I can do?

Red means you are CPU bound, not GPU bound.

Simply put, that is an ancient CPU and is going to struggle in the modern world (I have one in my work computer. It was fine 5 years ago when I started work. Not so fine now)

Keeping in mind, the game today is not the same as the game from 7 years ago when the 4790 was a very respectable chip.

Lowering your graphics settings are unlikely to help much in PvP in this case (though if you're going to lower something, turn shadow map resolution all the way down). It's sounds like it's a non K model, so overclocking is probably out of the picture.

Other people with ancient hardware might have some specific settings to suggest to help, but the only real fix is to upgrade your CPU. If you're on a budget, I'd suggest an AMD 5600 or Intel 12600. If you're not on a budget, wait until April 20th and check out the AMD 5800X3D

Another thing to keep in mind though, is that this game has rather serious optimization issues so even with top of the line hardware, it can struggle in PvP and Ops

  13. Can someone explain to me in kindergarten language what the difference is between NFTs and items from the Cartel Market?

Ok, first you need to understand the concept of cryptographic digital signing.

Digital signatures are mostly used to verify the integrity of a file and that the file is actually from those who published it. This is generally enforced via Certificate Authorities who can validate these digital signatures. Any time you see a certificate security warning in your web browser or an "Unknown Publisher" error in your OS, this means it's not digitally signed (or not correctly) and the browser/OS cannot verify what you got is actually what it claims to be.

(and yes, to the tech saavy members of the community, I know this is a gross oversimplification)

Now with NFTs it's a similar idea, except that the digital signature isn't there to verify the integrity or publishing identity of the file, but to verify its uniqueness. The Certificate Authority in this case is replaced by a blockchain (usually Ethereum).

What this means basically is while anyone can have a copy of that digital file, you would have the true copy of the digitial file. The one and only.

Art is the most common analogy for NFTs (and in fact digital art uses them fairly extensively). You can buy a print of a famous painting for pocket change, but the original will cost millions, even though most people won't be able to tell the difference.

By buying the NFT digital item, you can lay claim to having the "original", with the general hope that it will somehow gain value in the future.

Of course, it's much dumber with NFTs than it is with actual art, because the original content creator still retains copyrights and publishing rights for the digital item.

So to compare this to the CM, when you are buying something from the CM, you are buying access to that item (the files are of course already on your computer). For all intents and purposes though, you can think of these as just copies. There is no "one and only" version of Basic Women's Underwear for example

Now if that all sounds useless and stupid, it's because it is.

  14. Other than the healing ritual already mentioned, the only other skills ever really mentioned/shown in cutscenes are a couple (rather spectacular) demonstrations of telekinetic power and a case of using the force to mentally torture someone (depending on convo choices)

While the JK story never demonstrates these kinds of abilities (at that scale at least), lore wise there is no reason a JK would not be able to do so.

  15. I'm highly upset and irritated by us not being canon I mean who does Disney think lead the rise of palpatine? everything in swtor and Kotor has everything to do with rise of the empire where did Disney think Luke got his training? it all started on curscant then dantooine and for sith it was horrible I'm a most avid fan of starwars

KOTOR and SWTOR have basically nothing to do with Palpatine and Luke

KOTOR and SWTOR take place 4000 and 3700 years before the movies respectively. Heck, it's still thousands of years before Palpatine's incarnation of the Sith order began with Darth Bane

Honestly there are too many inconsistencies between SWTOR/KOTOR and canon lore for them to really make it work. WHich is fine I think, as it gives more creative freedom to BW without Disney feeling the need to micromanage them.

  16. I did. She was a civilian in most wars you get the civilians to safety first.

Ok, that's fair, but the point is that Senya objects purely because you didn't choose her people, nothing to do with civilians

It's the same Zakuul centric attitude that is so infuriating

  17. So if I buy it on the cartel market it will then be available in the appearance change station?

    Yes

I also believe it also counts if you change an existing lvl 50+ character to a Twi'lek, though I think the species change is more expensive than the legacy/CM unlock so probably want to go the legacy/CM route unless you already wanted to change that character to a Twi'lek

And of course the cheapest way of all is just level a Twi'lek to 50 the old fashioned (but slow) way

  18. These two really annoy me, and are excellent examples of what is horribly wrong with Zakuul culture. Arrogant, self-righteous and spoiled.

    Senya in particular.

"Just because he betrayed your enemy doesn't change the fact he is a traitor"

    Um, and *** are you?

"So it's the worlds you know over Zakuul?" (when choosing who to save in escape pods and choosing the rep and imp)

    A choice between

    A. An influential politician with strong connections, particularly to a world known for weapons manufacturing

    B. One of the empire's most decorated and experienced fleet admirals.

    C. A Zakuulan entertainer

What person in their right mind would prioritize C in that list in a war?

  19. So i have a issue with the Male togrotas in the game SPECIFICALLY the ones you can play as. If you choose to play as a female togrota you get the clasic adult Lekku and Montrals. However if you play as a Male you get a entirely seprate verrient that is SHORT and not like it should be for an adult of the species. now ive seen people saying how " the lekku cause clipping on male player models" and " the males are based off the clone wars tv series" wich are both ok and all but then you have characters like Ralon Nys. A Male Togrota NPC that is VOICED. and is WEARING a outfit buyable in the shop and HAS the full adult lekku and montrals like the Female PCs and NPCs. this is a species we have to PAY for so why is it the male PCs get this treetment?

First of all, this is the wrong forum for this. This forum is for discussion of the wider Star Wars universe, not SWTOR (see forum stickies)

Second of all, the clipping issue has nothing to do with the male Togruta lekku length and everything to do with them choosing to use the sexually diverged Togruta from TCW (canon) rather than the older Legends models used in the base game (the playable Togruta being introduced several years later and use completely different models)

I don't like it either to be honest, but short of them offering a new slider on character creation/appearance designer, (unlikely) this will never be "fixed" (some people actually do like the short models, and altering existing models is a big no-no)
