  1. Rift (which was developed on a much smaller budget by a team who had never done an MMO before) managed to have a fully featured and customizable interface without the need for add-ons AT LAUNCH. Stop making excuses for the incompetence of the UI team at BioWare. They failed and failed hard.
  2. I'd honestly like to know what you are occupying yourself with at level 50 that is such a blast. Are you grinding flashpoints, operations, or warfronts? Do you find this enjoyable? Do you find this more enjoyable than other loot treadmills? If so, why? I really want to better understand the mentality of people so satisfied with the status quo.
  3. Initial Character Leveling: 8/10 The main storyline is fun and decently written. A notch above other MMOs, but nothing to write home about. Side-missions are tolerable, but extremely repetitive and beneath my character most of the time. Alternate Character Leveling: 3/10 Again, the main storyline is fun, but everything else at this point gets space-barred. I don't care about the mean beasties ravaging the countryside or how some of your people have lost their minds and gone feral. But sure, I'll kill fifteen of them because I have to in order to level. Endgame: 1/10 Copypasta of Rift, World of Warcraft, and any other generic loot treadmill you can think of. Why the hell would I play this shallow, vapid excuse for an end game here when I left my previous game(s) because I wouldn't do it there? There are many ways you can design end game content, and this is hardly the best one. We are not rodents in a Skinner box; stop treating us as such.
  4. No. - Endgame is another generic, shallow, and vapid loot treadmill. - There is little to no exploration due to how small zones are. - Crafting is completely and utterly pointless due to being overshadowed by commendation vendors and daily vendors. - Space combat. I don't think I need to elaborate on this. I could go on, but these are my biggest problems with the game. Maybe I"ll come back in a year if BioWare can pull their heads out of their asses, admit they released a sub-par product, and fix it the same way Square is doing with FFXIV.
  5. Lazy developers who put out nothing but boring loot treadmill after boring loot treadmill are ruining MMOs. People who have more time and/or ability than others are not. The more these lazy, talentless developers keep putting out the same game with a different skin the faster we will complete it. It's time for something new and innovative, but this is not it.
  6. I was there for Warhammer, and I understand exactly what you're saying. I'm still extremely disappointed that a game with so much potential was ruined by being launched prematurely and incompetent developers. The reason the mistake has been made here is because the management team for this game, for lack of a better word, are idiots. They are unwise. They fail to learn from the mistakes of others and end up repeating them instead. With that out of the way, do your worst, browncoats.
  7. Yes, and no you cannot. You can come close, but not actually hit 17k without being buffed by a Bounty Hunter/Trooper.
  8. Neat. What class? Healers on my server that assume I'm DPS because I don't have 18-19k health with Champion gear. I'm not. I'm describing the situation that "neutral" players are in. Why should they have to grind normal dungeons to fill those slots when you and I can just purchase Light V/Dark V relics from the vendors or get prototype quality ones off the GTN? Seems extremely unfair and the exact opposite of what BioWare originally stated.
  9. You can't get to 17k health. As a Jedi Guardian, I have orange gear in every slot possible and L:50 blues in all other slots. I have 16640 health, 45% damage reduction with 22% defense chance, 37% shield chance, and 34% shield absorb. Apparently that's not enough to do hard modes on Lord Adrass. Who'd of thought you needed to out-gear hard modes before you can do them? Now, to the point of the original poster, imagine if I didn't have one of my relic slots full because I was a neutral character. I'd have 520 less health. Imagine if I didn't have a matrix cube (not everyone likes platforming as much as you or me) in other slot as a neutral character. I'd have 1120 less health. These numbers assume tank players will be using the +52 endurance relics rather than the somehow crappier tank relics (+35 endurance, +24 power IIRC) along with the tank-focused matrix cube. You currently gimp yourself pretty hard if you don't pick an alignment. If you want to have those slots filled before you go into a hard mode, you have to grind normal modes ad nauseum until you get lucky enough to see a relic drop and win the roll. Awful design.
  10. People will take a tank into a hard mode who has 1000 less health than the next guy because he's neutral and can't equip alignment-specific relics, right? I'm already being told I need a minimum of 18000 health (read: poorly statted PvP artifacts) to do hard modes. What makes you think people are going to bring someone who's missing two entire equipment slots?
  11. There's a whole lot of meaty truth wrapped in a tortilla made of hyperbolic nonsense. Lots of drama, but much of the criticism is accurate. Browncoats, do your job!
  12. Really? You know, maybe I would have been okay with this ten years ago when the genre was still obscure and developers didn't have big budgets. However, the genre is fairly mainstream now, there have been countless games released on a variety of budgets that DO have "fully fleshed out" end games. Better yet, they have end games that aren't an insult to player intelligence and have us play the role of a small (but adorable) lab rodent in a box pressing a button. Yes. People like you, who think its acceptable to purchase an unfinished product who lacks features that became a standard in the genre years ago. The more you defend unfinished trash, the more of it we're going to get.
  13. I really don't see how that's a positive article. It reveals what many of us already know - the story stops at 50 and the game becomes another mediocre loot treadmill full of mindless Skinner box style content. Its old hat and frankly its insulting... unless your idea of fun hitting a button over and over again until the RNG decides to bless you with a food pellet.
  14. http://www.torstatus.net/shards/us We're actually down from the 22nd. Stop making stuff up. The two dips on the 20th and 1st are from server caps being raised. After that you can see a slow but steady drop in players. This is bad. It's not a catastrophic situation, but it's definitely going in the wrong direction. This.
