UPDATE: I installed the client from Steam, and it's working fine. I have no idea why. I didn't change anything on my PC. LOL... Every time I install and run SWTOR (main website client download, not Steam), something very odd happens to my desktop. The case fans spool up, the whole PC bogs down, everything loads slowly, and I keep getting the little, spinning icon by my mouse pointer. This happens even after I shut the game down. There are no error messages or crashes. The only fix I've found is to uninstall and reboot the computer. My PC is a mid-range gaming rig from a couple of years ago, I have checked for viruses, and I don't have this problem with any of the other games I play, including MMOs. Any idea of what the issue might be? Why is SWTOR, specifically, causing this? I don't even have to get in-game to have the issues start, just to the loading screen. I have tried changing the res to 1440 and 1080. EDIT System Specs: Windows 10 64 bit 16 GB memory I7 8700 3.2 GHz GeForce GTX 1070 Thanks!

OK, thanks guys! I'll try a Vigilance Guardian, I think. I tried the Consular story, and the story and voice acting were just so bland.

Hey guys, I want to try playing a melee Jedi. I want to go pure DPS. I'm only playing solo (and possibly some easier group) PvE content, no PvP. Problem is, I have a hand injury, so I need to keep things as slow and stationary as possible. Rapid button mashing isn't great. An easier rotation is ideal. So, for my low level of play, what are my best choices? Possibly Vigilance or Focus guardians? Thanks!

Just curious, do you guys play just for the solo story content, or also for group PvE and/or PvP? I'm super casual these days and I have only been playing for the class stories.

Which do you guys think are the best and worst class stories? So far, the best I've played (not to completion) is Agent and the worst is Consular. Smuggler is kind of bland but the dialogue options are entertaining.

Oh, didn't know that! So will I want to use a healer for most solo PvE content, as a Lightning Sorc? Or a tank?

Hey guys, I mainly plan to play a Sorc in story mode. I have a problem with my hands which makes attacking while moving and a complicated rotation difficult. Which Sorc spec would be easiest to play? Something where I can sit back and let my companion tank would be ideal. Also, is there a website that lists current rotations? I tried Noxxic, and the SWTOR section had been archived. Thanks!

It's been a good while. When I played before, some classes and specs could be challenging to get through the story combat sequences with the boss NPC's, if I remember correctly. I guess they simplified things!

Is it possible to play a tank spec Jedi in solo PvE? Can they make it through the story's combat scenes OK?

Hey folks, I'm just coming back to SWTOR. I have a problem with my hands that makes a complex rotation or tons of movement while attacking very difficult. I play mostly solo PvE, maybe some PUG dungeons. No PvP at all. Is there a DPS class/spec that I could play now that has a pretty simple rotation and is pretty stationary? Ranged or melee is find. About the only classes I'm not terribly interested in are Trooper/Bounty Hunter, since I played those last time. Thank you!

OK, so a few votes for Vigilance Guardian. I'm a little concerned that I'll roll one now, and they'll change it in the future to be much more complex. Do they have a history of doing that sort of thing? Thanks again!

Combat Sentinel doesn't look too terrible. Guy who wrote the guide said it was OK for beginners. Still, maybe I should stick with a Gunslinger. Is Sharpshooter the one that drops those portable shields to hide behind?
