  1. Getting involved in crafting is also a nice way to slow down the pace. But the best way to not feel over-leveled has been shared above: fight without your companion. Also note that once you are a few levels ahead of the quest level, your progress will slow dramatically, since you will be killing green mobs, and getting minimal quest exp. So the exp pace is a bit self-moderating at that point. Note that in Beta, by the time I was up in the 30s, I found some of the class-quest bosses were much harder than expected (e.g. elites with guards who started right next to your inquisitor before you could raise a shield.) Re-doing a wiped story quest was actually a downer, since it broke all the suspension of disbelief (since you then respawned and got him the second time). So this time I will gladly over-level early on, and leave my companion behind when I feel too powerful. That way when the key encounters come, I can call my helper and win the first time, and feel like the story played as intended. Enjoy! -D
  2. My gut tells me that an RP-PvE server will support the least-objectionable behaviors. This won't be LotRO, but it will have a chance, especially over time. Is there an unofficial "grownups" server? I would love to find that one right away.
  3. Actually pre-ordered in November, but didn't get a working code until this week. Still excited.
  4. I am very grateful. Not confident that my Target order was going to deliver. Happy Holidays, -D
  5. I never saw the schematic for the transport beacon in beta, either. Did anyone else ever use one? Glad they are coming in live, but it is a surprise.
  6. Earlier in closed beta, slicing was very profitable. But during the latter builds it was balanced down so that you don't make money sending out missions. It was nice for picking up cash while questing of course. Because of the specialty items needed for blue and purple crafting, you can't afford to waste a skill slot on slicing if you really want to make things. Each crafting skill now really requires a basic gathering skill (e.g. salvaging) and a mission skill for otherwise unobtainable ingredients (e.g. underworld). Waiting for the auction house to provide what you need when you need it at a price that seems reasonable is just asking for frustration. I enjoy crafting, so I will do it. But if I was just in it to make money, I would just be a gatherer, like in so many MMOs. Also, expect crafting to get revised quickly and often as they get their arms around the player economy: Beta was never in place long enough to have a fully realized economy under the current structure.
