  1. Lost Island is still overtuned for what it is and I'd rather progress my gear more slowly than run it. By the measure of being content, it's a failure.
  2. Just a gentle reminder that literally everyone who thought like this in WoW was not only wrong, but dead wrong and it cost Blizzard millions of subs. This game doesn't have millions of subs to lose.
  3. Just a reminder that WoW went in this direction. 3 Million Unsubs later, they nerfed the then current raid tier (firelands) HARD, then later released the LFR tool and 3 easy 5-mans that crap epic loot of the item-level needed to hit the final raid raid tier. They also gave people free level-cap characters, mounts, etc if they resubbed. And you got D3 for free if you bought a year-long sub so their numbers wouldn't further decrease. Catering to grognards kills your MMO. Sorry.
  4. Weird. The issue with had with Zorn/Toth is that the stupid charge would target the ZORN TANK sometimes. I mean, ***?
  5. We noticed that a lot of the AOE ground markers randomly didn't show for our raid on storymode 16-man. I doubt it's intentional.
  6. We went straight into 16-man hardmode and didn't get the first bosses down but I don't think it needs -severely- nerfed. Tone down the raid damage a bit and make that stupid rock-throw you need to break the berserk NOT TARGET THE TANKS and I'd be happy myself. I'm not a fan of gatekeeper bosses myself. I prefer progressive difficulty myself.
  7. Lost Island is overtuned and there's no two ways about it. Just got done in a guild group in pretty much full Rakata and it was ridiculously unfun. The first boss is massively overtuned if you have any melee, which we mercifully didn't. I tanked in the center, the ranged/healers ran around the room and it was actually fairly easy. ...but we had no melee. This fight needs some retuning to make it less melee unfriendly. Maybe raise the CD on plasma arcs or something so the tank/DPS don't have to move quite so much. Incinerate is pretty ridiculous too. I have no idea how a tank that could legitimately use the gear (i.e. someone in say...mostly Tionese with the odd columi piece) could survive without an over-geared healer. Second/Bonus bosses are pretty easy. They're fine. Last boss is just annoying. For the gear level that SHOULD be running this place (a mix of mostly tionese/columi/daily-modded oranges) the damage output on the tank from the stacks upon stacks of satchel charges is pretty crazy. The DPS output/healing output at the end is a bit too intense as well. The vial AOE in the first phase could probably be shrunk down/less frequent IMO. This is meant for gearing people, not for amusing aspergers-inflicted grognards decked out in full Rakata who want to play dressup with their companions. It needs tuned down. I know I'm not running it again. If we want to gear alts we can always go sleep through another candy run of story mode EV/Karagga. Why the hell even bother with this place?
  8. LFG is pretty much going to be a staple of DIKU-type MMOs from hereon out. SWTOR is going to get one and there isn't anything you can do about it.
  9. I don't get it. I tanked FE blind with some guildmates, and he started channeling before he reached a ledge. I ran back towards one of the ledges, harpooned him to me, then sidestepped around him and hit with a grenade to knock him down. Took like 5 seconds.
  10. I finally got around to running Kaon on HM the other night and have to agree. I mean, we only wiped on trash once and that was just some bad luck with a screamer blasting me into to another group of mobs but good GOD the mercs were annoying. The Mercs and Hunters aren't terribly hard to stop but it's just not fun dealing with them. The hunters are fun because their incapacitate is fairly short and as far as I can tell interruptible with damage. The mercs are just irritating. The worst is the bonus boss however. Good luck to you if you don't have some good CC and coordination. Vent is your friend.
  11. All your posts are a really long way of saying this: Rift is arguably a better game in every single way mechanically and it was also the first MMO of the company, they had no real MMO vets on their team, and they did it on a comparatively shoestring budget. The problem with Rift of course was its completely uninteresting who-gives-a-**** world and story.
  12. General consensus on Hero Engine: +Great tools for content creation. Multiple people in different locations can simultaneously edit stuff live. Lots of good tech integrated. +Covers literally everything; backend, frontend, client, world building, scripting, shaders, etc. -The backend is apparently GARBAGE, the client also hasn't gotten many kind words. -The above is really important. This stuff from their website is even funnier. Emphasis added by me. Explains a LOT. http://www.heroengine.com/2011/11/heroengine-meets-starwars/ lol, whatever we'll fix it when we got it! The Million Man Hour Myth itself is a myth!
