  1. as a gunnery commando, i have no problem killing knights/warriors, troopers/BH or shadows/assassins in pvp. the key is to ignore any concept of your dps rotation at all. why would you ever just stand there and take a lightsaber to the face? move! get away from them and spam your instant abilities. weve got a hell of a lot of them. if you can stack 5x grav vortex then great! if not then live with it. if you need a couple extra seconds to stack them, throw a cryo grenade and then line up a concussive round, or vice versa. theyll break the first cc and the second will last just long enough to get off a grav round. the key to winning that kind of fight is to keep moving. they cant hit you from ranged, so why let them stay melee?
  2. what are you talking about? healing might be a tad bit weak, but dps is fantastic. vanguards AND commandos both pull awesome numbers. dont expect to be playing a faceroll jedi class when you roll a trooper though. youve got to pay attention and work for it. also our AOE is the best in the game. forcequake may be bigger, but theres rarely a time when a 5 meter radius isnt enough to hill all 5 targets. toss on plasma grenade, sticky bomb, explosive charge and pulse cannon and everything is dead before you ever need to touch hail of bolts. also keep in mind that force quakes damage is horrible. our aoe also makes smugglers look bad as well.
  3. outside of pvp commandos do fine. we are the top republic guild on our server, and im arguably the top trooper. we run 4 commandos in our 16 man. 2 dps 2 healers. commando dps is just fine if you actually know how to play the class and optimize your gear. i am usually #1 on the dps meters, and if im not, its only ever our vanguard that beats me. as far as heals go. for pve its just fine. i never have trouble keeping a group alive in my sub-par healing gear. really the only limit i ever feel as a trooper is ammo. obviously running out sucks. classes like jedi knights/sith warriors and those telekinetic sages who dont have to worry about resource have a much easier time because they never go empty. if you want to compete as a dps commando its all about managing your ammo. learn the tricks to keep yourself full. figure out when hitting a hammer shot will keep your ammo in the 3+regen bars. also keep in mind, a geared trooper spamming nothing but hammer shot can pull a solid 600-700 damage per second. hammer shot is NOT a bad ability. what im saying here is, just because you have to work alittle harder than some faceroll jedi to be the best doesnt make trooper a bad class.
  4. hail of bolts is pretty awful. if i need to aoe a group of mobs my rotation looks like this. mortars, instant/free plasma grenade, sticky bomb, pulse cannon, hail of bolts. usually they group is dead before the hail of bolts. also i should probably point out that im talking about my rotation in operations. all in all, yes, pulse cannon is great aoe. far better than hail of bolts. and dont go pointing out that hail has a pushback... it doesnt really do much
  5. getting banned for using a program like a log parser would be the same as getting banned for having mouse drivers, or video drivers. did BW officially approve your mouse drivers? thats a third party program that you are using to DIRECTLY effect your game play. hope you dont get banned for them.
  6. for healers alacrity is important. that heal going off a half second earlier is the difference between a successful boss fight and a wipe. even if youre waiting for the 1.5 global cooldown your heals are still hitting faster, and suppose you only need to heal someone once? same deal. either they get healed, or they die. also, (for ANY class) there are abilities that are longer than 1.5 seconds. lots of them. lots and lots of them. not having to wait as long for them can really help. but mostly, its a healer stat. lastly! @Gariuys... as stated above, your not noticing the .1 second delay. either its latency, or input lag or an aspect of the mind not noticing a tiny tiny delay like that. if you really wanna test it. set a timer on your phone or something for 15 seconds. you should, in that time, be able to get off 16 power shots/missiles/grav rounds. i promise that in the time youll only see 15..... ammo/heat should last through that spam right? even if your target does not...
  7. so whats the general feeling on the operations loot distribution system? I ran EV today and i got a drop from every boss. which should be awesome, except that i already had EVERY piece that i got. my buddy who was tanking could have made use of EVERY piece that i "won". now i know automatically distributing loot will save a lot of loot drama, but it will also get people stuck getting the same item multiple times when simply being able to pass on a roll would distribute the loot where its needed, rather than randomly. sure... you could have ninjas stealing whatever for companions, or credits, or because theyre upset with someone, but thats just as easily solved. just wondering the general opinion on the system...

  9. so ive cleared FE every day for the past week or so with no problems on this boss. today, after the first rotation of "shoot the ship" the target lock would not break and the ship would not fly away. attempted the fight about a half dozen times with the same problem. our dps was high enough that we even decided to try to burn him until the ship hit 300%, then shoot the ship. then burn him down the rest of the way, yet we didnt have nearly the dps we would have needed to pull this off. im in all pve epics and our other dps was no slouch either. idk if its a bug thats causing the ship to not fly away or if its something we were doing wrong but nothing has changed from how weve beaten this guy for the past week. anyone else seeing this?
  10. ok so i know the guide says you can get a T2 artifact from reverse engineering a T1 artifact... but it also says that once a RE schematic reaches artifact quality it cant be further improved. so has anyone actually reverse engineered a T1 artifact and discovered a T2 artifact schematic? ive done some searching so far and not found much. i just want some proof. THANKS!
  11. usually, yes is is worth it. you might lose ~20-30 of your primary stat, but i usually gain over 60 in my secondary stats. for weapons however, its better to just use an orange with the daily barrel
  12. anyone opposed to damage meters is either not serious about endgame content, or is a poor player themselves and is afraid of being singled out for it. damage meters are a necessity, not a convenience.
