  1. You can already automatically control what goes into the Mats inventory and what does not. The setting has been there since 6.0 launched and was in the PTS. You control what goes in there. If your not happy with what mats are in there, change the setting that you have been given control to set.

As stated, open you Inventory, at the top click on the Gem Icon and then you can set what quality of mats go into the mat inventory automatically. The lowest you can set it to is "Standard" so basically only the Standard quality mats you buy from the crew skills vendor will go into the Mats Inventory and everything else will go into your regular inventory.

Lastly if you want to pull mats out of the Mat Inventory, just open the Mats Inventory, then right click whatever mats that are in there that you want back in your Normal Inventory.

As you have seen, they simply gave you more control and added a feature to help those that want more inventory space. As a crafter myself, I just put everything in there because for me that is what works.

If it doesn't work for you, change the setting you have control over.

  2. coming back after 4 year they force to to pick something, I had no clue as forgot everything, but my lightning sith got corruption instead cus I had no clue she was lightning before, and now when I start to remember i have no clue how to set her back to lightning where she should be

You have to go to the fleet to find the Skill Mentor. They are located in the same location where you train for the different classes. They are in the left side cubicle area if your facing them. Talk to them to reset your Discipline to then choose if you want lighting. You can also purchase the legacy perk for your character in the legacy window. Open legacy window with Y, go to Character Perks and it is the last choice on the bottom left.

This will allow you to change it in the field anytime you want by pressing K for the Discipline window and then clicking the abandon button on the bottom for the Discipline you are in.

  3. There are multiple paths that are taken before you even get to their servers and the latency can occur at anytime between your ISP and their servers. If it's something in between there is nothing Bioware can do to fix it.

Best way to figure out where the issue is by running a patch trace through ping plotter or something similar to see where the latency is occurring at. You'd have to run it for at least 10 minutes or so to get a good amount of data to see where the issue is at.

If you want to see where the problem is then you can do the following with pingplotter to see where the issue is at. The program is free to use but without it there is no way to determine if its on BW end or not.

    Download Pingplotter at http://www.pingplotter.com

Install it so you can look at the hops to the server

To find out the server IP (it changes everytime you log in now) you need start swtor and then go back to your Windows desktop.

Now run command prompt in Administrator mode

(Depending on which Windows you have, there are different ways to run it in Administrator mode, so do a quick Google search on how too for your windows version)

Type this command into the command shell after you have opened it.

    Netstat -n -p tcp -b | more

(I usually have the netstat command saved in a txt file for notepad and just copy and paste it into the command prompt)

It will show you the 2 swtor connections to the server IP

It usually has an ip like this - 159.153.65.233 or 159.153.65.232

But because it changes each time you login it will be different.. Ie it could be - 159.153.65.235

This is why you have to run this each time if you want to get an accurate read on the server ping.

Once you have that ip, open pingplotter. You can then enter the swtor server ip you are connected to and it will run a live trace route, showing all the connection hops along the way.

You'll be able to see live statistics and information on what is happening.

  4. I am having the same issue stuck at 0% installing and disabling Bitraider gets the download started but then the download stops and completely freezes around 75%. I have tried:

    - Complete uninstall and reinstall

    - Disabling Bitraider

    - Completely removing Bitraider

    - Using the repair tool

    - Disabling firewall and making exceptions in AVG

    - Just about any and all troubleshooting guides related to the issue

I was playing the game not even a week ago and i am on my seventh attempt at installation i three days any new or obscure advice would be appreciated.

Did you make exceptions for both swtor.exe and launcher.exe in both your Anti-Virus and Firewall? You just mentioned AVG but needs to be added to your Firewall too. You also mentioned exceptions but wanted to make sure it was both .exe and not just one.

Since you are using AVG, also disable link surf scanner shield setting.

  5. Eric, i know i'm in your umm Akk-doghouse for "raging" about the whole Conquest-not-matching-with-ingame-values thing last week...but...question just to be certain here: If say we already purchased HK Chapter from Cartel but haven't actually 'consumed' it yet (still in my inventory as clicky item) , it's now SAFE to use? Correct?

And thanks btw for the new info.

Based on his response it is safe to use. The issue affects only those who used it before the fix.

  6. I have some items in my action bar and whenever my mouse hover over them, there's a huge pop up telling me what it does... How do I disbale this? They look like this... https://i.redd.it/9d4ersnw07u31.jpg

That's part of the UI redesign. They redesigned ba lot of things and tool tips are one. I'm at work so can't check but try either in your settings or in your interface editor. Note that if you do disable tooltips it will probably do it for everything including abilities, enemies, etc.

  7. My son bought HK on his knight and played through it without a hitch. He has been dying to get the chapter ever since he started playing! He switched to his warrior who also had finished all of the chapters and alerts, but there is no new alert for HK. In the legacy window it shows the unlock. We haven't been able to see if logging and re-logging pop the alert for this second character since the server went down.

The server is back up and he still doesn't have the alert.

Did he unlock the account wide perk in the legacy window in the "Other" section? The CM purchase is just for one character. You then have to go to the legacy window in "Other" and on the bottom right purchase the unlocks for account use.

  8. i myself and getting that exact thing then it tells me network error 310. tried to redownload game from scratch tried all fixes they sujested online from changing bitraider to true. i made a exception in my firewall still nothing been trying since 1pm my time its 4:15pm now

ensure that your anti-virus hasn't quarantined swtor.exe already and if so remove it. Add the exceptions to both your firewwall and anti-virus program.

  9. I was the inviter, trying to invite other people to my personal stronghold, where they didn't have a key and they weren't on the ban list. We tried it with them in their own stronghold, and then with them on fleet, both times it didn't work. Other players in the RP community on Star Forge are reporting the same issue and are not happy about it. It's a big deal for us, considering we run plot and social RP events and now can't invite people to any of them. Keyrings are very small, it's impossible to have keys to every single one of your friends' strongholds.

Well sounds like a bug that needs to be fixed then.

  10. Except it was NOT done well. It wasn't thought through. It's half-baked. There isn't even personal preference involved... the clunky way that mats are put in the tab and the complete lack of display options makes the new Mats Tab underwhelming and badly implemented. Glad you are satisfied with a "Less Than" result. So YOU can move on, but those not satisfied with the result will make that point known.

That's your personal opinion nothing more. Again some may agree, many seem to not agree with you. I have no issues with it.

Also in regards to Bioware not moving mats for you. What if someone didn't want them moved for them. How do you set which mats are moved? You can control what quality is moved and what quality is not. Do they do all green and below? What if others don't want that. What if some want just blue and lower, what if some want purple and lower? They should just assume which ones to move and done move? No they shouldn't and not moving any and letting players have the choice of what mat quality to move and which ones to not move is up to them. Not Bioware or you to decide for everyone else.

  11. Add swtor.exe and launcher.exe to your anti-virus firewall and safe list. If you have one of these specific anti-viruses, make the associated change:

    ESET - disable protocol filtering

Kapersky - disable scan secure/encrypted connections

Nortons (firewall) - ensure exceptions are set to allow not auto

AVG - disable link surf scanner shield

  12. I'm receiving dark side points on a light side character for any diplomacy mission.

What do you have your Dark Side / Light side meter set to? The crew skill missions may say one alignment, but they always use whatever you have it set to for your character. That's always been that way before 6.0. By default the setting is usually in the bottom right corner near the mini map.

  13. I don't think these are bugs, I think they're part of EA's greed, but I'm going to list them in case they are actually mistakes that will be fixed:

Subscribers now have to purchase a perk with credits/Cartel Coins to modify their gear "on the fly". Previously this was free to subscribers.

You can no longer invite someone to a stronghold (your own, a guild's, or someone else's stronghold you have a silver key to) unless they already have a key to said stronghold. This defeats the purpose of silver keys entirely and locks out any visitors to guild strongholds. The Invite button still exists and you can still send other players invites, but when they accept the invitation they will receive this in-game message:

    https://i.imgur.com/RRXrhao.png

The second one sounds like a bug. I don't jump to the negative aspect of it. As far as the modify gear on the fly? Are you talking about mods or something else. where is this mysterious perk because I just searched all the perks and there is no such perk. It's always cost credits only to modify gear. So please provide the exact perk, and a screenshot of what you are seeing as that seems false to me.

  14. I can't access the game right now, but I've seen there's an unlock in the legacy window next to HK-51 & Treek. What does that do?

Looks like the ability to unlock it via the legacy window instead of having to go to the Cartel Market. Whether its the 3800 or not remains to be seen.

  15. I want to ask you if someone know for sure if HK-55 mission and comp item grants acces to these for only one character or for whole account?

Because in the description it says it grants acces to your character, so I want to be sure.

3,8k for only one character is too much.

PS. I'll not argument here, I want only answer.

Looks like per character. Says so in the tool tip and when you go to purchase, there is no character and account option with two different prices. Just one option and a single price so based on normal trends with how Character vs Account normally looks when you make a purchase. So putting all that together. Just per character.

  16. I have just checked, and I still have the option to donate the Contraband Slot Machine to my guild for 50k credits.

What's interesting is that the Contraband Slot Machine is now available via direct purchase on the Cartel Market... for 1,500 Cartel Coins.

Really EA? Really? 1,500 for a single decoration that's been nerfed into oblivion on payout? That's a bit much, don't you think?

Well I mean you can purchase the HK-55 Bonus chapter from the CM for 3800 CC.
