  1. I will update the top post as well, but all PvPers should head over to this page

    http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=665628

where we will be discussing PvP questions for the sniper class. Paowee and I are coordinating since he is mainly PvE and I am mainly PvP.

I hope you guys will do the opposite when considering Gunslinger questions. I'm a PvE exclusive player here and want to make sure our concerns get represented since our rep is apparently primarily PvP.

  2. Forgive me folks, but where can I read about these changes?

    http://www.swtor.com/patchnotes

    Game Update 2.2.3 Patch Notes

    7/23/2013

    Macrobinoculars and Seeker Droid

    • When a buried treasure is found with the Seeker Droid, there is now a higher chance to find deployment boosts, reputation trophies, secure crates, or speeder parts.
    • The Seeker Droid no longer has a random chance to dig up items when the player is not near a buried treasure.
    • Junk items dug up by the Seeker Droid are now level 10 or below.
    • Gear can no longer be dug up by the Seeker Droid, with the exception of Dreadseed and Star Forager armor.
    • Special buried treasure (one per Seeker Droid digsite) now has a greater chance of being a rare speeder part.

  3. I really wish someone from Bioware would explain their rationale on adding the level 10 grey items as 'treasure' because it really just seems like they are giving us the middle finger with those. It's like leaving a two cent tip at a restaurant. It's worse than nothing.
  4. Two thoughts that immediately come to mind are:

Was this patch, and I mean this exact version of the game, put up on the PTS prior to going live? If so did Bioware actually pay attention to the bug reports? Because these are really obvious bugs that are noticeable right away by players. If this exact version was never published to the PTS prior to going live then why not? There needs to be more testing before changes go live to catch really obvious stuff like these chat and jumping bugs.

The other thing I want to say is that I don't think it's good enough to say 'We know about it and it's on schedule for the next patch'. The next patch should be for new features and minor fixes. Known annoyances that you guys just broke with your 'patch' need to be fixed with a small patch right away. There's no excuse not to. If you can't test properly then you need to fix issues ASAP and save the rest of the changes for the next patch.

The speeder companion bug was a 'known issue' minutes after that 'patch' went live and yet it was allowed to stand for two weeks, including over the Double XP period where people were leveling alts and the amount of companions they had sometimes would equal how many they could send. Very annoying to send all your companions out and then realize you can't get on your speeder or you'll ruin mission.

And really, how hard is it to just issue a small patch to fix that bug? That couldn't be done for two weeks? Really?

  5. People being obnoxious is not a new thing. It existed before SWTOR and will exist after. Every game has them. Beta is a bit different because it's a closed experience but once you open the floodgates you will get every sort of player. It's up to you to decide who you do and don't want to spend time with.

Instead of blaming the game and ignoring the fact that these sorts exist in every game, try doing something constructive like finding a guild to join with people you do want to be around. Also remember it's your time so if you don't want to be in a Flashpoint or any other area with certain people then don't. If one person is a problem then initiate a vote to kick. If more than one is the problem then just leave. There are plenty of other people to group with. It's really that simple.

  6. Agreed 100%. Let people dye what they want. Some of the outfits you can't dye look quite nice when you apply dyes to them in the preview window (which the game still lets you do ) and some of the ones you can dye have a 3rd or 4th or more color you can't dye and just generally look terrible dyed.

Some of the older stuff they didn't bother to even add slots to like the CE stuff and I also don't agree about the KotoR character stuff not being able to be dyed. Who cares? It's our game. Let us do what we want.

  7. As a subscriber, I think maybe you people should look less at what other people get

and realize that you're also getting something.

Us vs Them, however, will only result in even more unfriendly community relations.

And this community is already bad as it is. :(

Thank you. Exactly my sentiments 100%. Stop worrying about what other people do or don't have and how they got it and just get what you want in the game the way you want to get it. The more time someone spends obsessing over how person X got Y the more unhappy they will be.

People generally find whatever it is they are looking for so if you look for something to complain about you will find it and if you look for something to be happy about you will find that too.

Perspective is very important. No one can make everyone happy so why not try to be content in yourself with what you have?

  8. Are you always doing something productive in game? Do you spend 2 hours a day logged in and the moment you log in you're crafting/questing/queuing for WZs/FPs

How much time do you spend idle standing around on fleet trying on different outfits and just chatting with people?

How much time do you spend doing what you want and what is fun, how much time spent doing things that are less fun but you feel are necessary (such as crafting, arranging inventory, selling things on GTN, grinding)

Okay, I totally confess to spending way too much time in the outfit preview window via GTN checking out how various outfits would look in varies dye schemes on various characters. :o

That being said, I kind of like coordinating outfits and get happy when I pick a nice looking set out so I really don't find it a waste of time. Plus it's kind of relaxing to not be constantly shoot/slashing at stuff.

  9. Mail is screwing up on Harbinger right now. Can't access GTN purchases I made and can't transfer crafted items to a guild mate. And yes I sat and waited, and waited and waited. Mail is just hosed on Harbinger right now.

So the people who said the problems are just during double XP are wrong. It's not double XP right now, it's not a weekend, new content has not just beenadded and the mail is still hosed. I've seen numerous other people complain about it in general chat just now so it's not just me either.

  10. Mail on Harbinger is hosed again right now.

I crafted some stuff for a guild mate and was unable to get it to him do to the mail servers being down so I just logged out and called it quits for the night after trying multiple times and sitting and waiting with the mail open for 10 minutes at a time while it sat blank and nothing happened. I also apparently have mail that I can't access including some GTN purchases.

  11. Considering that's the entire premise of my bug report, I'm surprised the "OMG you're WRONG" brigade hasn't showed up to demonstrate my wrongness. However, I think it's extremely likely that the Regal set is modeled by a Rattataki simply because the skin colour is so close to the set colour: you give people the impression that it's actually a skirt, and they buy it for the skirt, but then it's "Nope, it has leggings for the male version, just as advertised, soz." because then no one can adequately complain about misleading and false advertisement,

In fact, my saying that the female version is missing leggings is really just a round-about way of asking whether the male version is supposed to have leggings, but no one at Bioware would have looked at that question. Cthulhu help us if the male characters in this game show a bit of skin, like the ladies.

I have that piece (Regal legs) and there's definitely leggings on the male version. It's not skin.

That said, if there is a change to add leggings to the female version PLEASE make a classic and non-classic version. I rather like the skirt on female characters and really don't want to see it go away.

  12. So is anyone else sitting around and clicking the statue over and over again now?

HOHO! HAHA! HOHO! HAHA! HOHO! HAHA! HOHO! HAHA! HOHO! HAHA! HOHO! HAHA! HOHO! HAHA! HOHO! HAHA! HOHO! HAHA! HOHO! HAHA! HOHO! HAHA! HOHO! HAHA! HOHO! HAHA! HOHO! HAHA! HOHO! HAHA! HOHO! HAHA! HOHO! HAHA! HOHO! HAHA! HOHO! HAHA! HOHO! HAHA! HOHO! HAHA! HOHO! HAHA! HOHO! HAHA! HOHO! HAHA! HOHO! HAHA! HOHO! HAHA! HOHO! HAHA! HOHO! HAHA! HOHO! HAHA! HOHO! HAHA! HOHO! HAHA! HOHO! HAHA! HOHO! HAHA! HOHO! HAHA! HOHO! HAHA! HOHO! HAHA! HOHO! HAHA! HOHO! HAHA! HOHO! HAHA! HOHO! HAHA!

  13. Did anyone else notice that statue also does not show up in collections even though the other pre-order items, the makrin pet and the Scourge of the Hutts title, do? There's currently no way to get that statue added to collections so if you lose it somehow there's no way to get it back, which was one of the major points of collections.

That statue seems to be bugged in multiple ways now and someone really needs to look at it. The voice over laugh is gone, it won't show up in collections, there was talk about the icon for it being messed up.

Other stuff in this forum gets noticed and commented on by Bioware staff and I would really appreciate it if this were too. I have a hard time believing at this point that they still don't know about it. Besides this thread constantly being bumped people on the CS forum were told to submit a report about it in game and have, but guess what? Nothing has come up it.

Bioware please look at the Oggurobb statue and put the laugh voiceover back and also make sure it gets added to collections properly.

  14. Personally, as someone whose main charactger is a Smuggler I would have preferred a bit more wheeling and dealing with the hutts and less Rambo'ing but I guess that's the nature of the game.

I do think had there been more companion conversation/interjections there may have been less grumbling about the no class specific stuff because at least that's a bit of reason to run back through to make see the different companions reactions and dialog.

It's not like they didn't bring the voice actors back; they did but it's mostly just 'Makeb Oooh pretty' while you're running around. If they are going to use the voice actors I would have preferred something a little more substantial from the companions.

*Edit to clarify: Though I missed the companion conversation and would have preferred a bit more deviation based on class, overall I still very much enjoyed Makeb and am glad I got the expansion.

  15. You know what? I actually like these sorts of quests! It's something I'm good at. I will freely admit right here and now I'm terrible at the harder combat stuff like heroics, flashpoints and OPs and avoid it most times so as to not drag other people down with my awlfulness, but jumping puzzles? I can do that!

It does take some getting used to and a little practice at first but if you've done datacrons that's excellent practice for this sort of thing, and some of those are A LOT harder than this quest was.

For those having trouble you can always see if you can have some friends do it with you. A Trooper or Bounty Hunter can grapple you over jumps and if you're playing a Jedi Knight you can force leap to other players. In my guild people who are good at the jumps have used these methods to get people who aren't up to some of the datacrons and it can work for Arcanum too.

  16. I just want some sort of confirmation that it's a mistake and the laugh sound byte when you use Dr. Oggurobb holo statue is coming back. Mistakes happen and I'm totally fine with that. I'm sure it's not top priority but I can't wait for it to be fixed.

If it turns out it was removed on purpose for some reason and won't be coming back then I'm going to be really bummed.

Probably the worst scenario to me though would be if it was removed by mistake and no one on the Bioware team ever even notices.

Yes this is really important to me. I know it's dumb, but the laugh was like an infectious little bit of instant happiness and who doesn't want that?

That sound byte made me really glad I pre-ordered the expansion. Now it's just another silent holo statue with no character and if I want one of those I can buy one on the GTN.

  17. Just tried standing behind the banner and was killed in the first shot. Did they make some changes?

Edit - Just tried running behind it and also died. Once he slows me down I can't seem to stay out of the way. I'm trying this as a trooper.

Same here. Nothing suggested is working for me. I don't know how to prevent his slow status on me and he definitely can shoot the beam through LOS even walls for me.

I'm really frustrated and at my wit's end.

  18. Hey everyone,

We are investigating this issue right now. In the meantime, we would recommend that you do not purchase Cartel Coins digitally from Best Buy. You should still be able to purchase physically from any location without issue but we are looking into the digital delivery issues that you folks are experiencing.

I will give you updates as soon as I have more information. If you have purchased a code digitally and not received it, please contact Best Buy and they should be able to assist you further. Unfortunately this is an issue with the retail purchasing and not something our Customer Support will be able to assist with. If you have purchased a code from a retailer you simply need to go to http://www.swtor.com/redeem-code and you will then receive your mini-pet via in-game mail.

The problem is that people are reporting that the employees at Best Buy and Gamestop are not even aware of the promotion where you buy the Cartel Coins pack in store and some are telling people they don't have it. I would rather not have to deal with that mess and just get them online, assuming the online ordering can get straightened out.

  19. You could try eBay Buy It Now. I know some sellers are willing to email the code on the card. You could always try that route and ask the seller before buying. It is a bit of a risk to buy on eBay but if the seller has a good rating with lots of positive feedback they aren't going mess that up.

It would be nice if stores sold codes for game time by email instead of the physical card. Best Buy seems to be doing that now with Cartel Coins although from reading the other thread about that it seems like they screwed that up and people aren't getting the codes.

  20. I'm honestly rather disappointed that there aren't new head meshes shaped more like a cat vs just the same old human head with cat makeup on like they are in the musical Cats.

I don't know if anyone here remembers the old Elder Scrolls games, but way back the Khajiit were basically like this, painted over humans. When they made Morrowind they redid them so the heads actually looked like cats, along with a lore story that they two were different types of Khajiit, and they've used the more cat-like ones ever since.

If it's an issue of the helms clipping I'd probably just prefer to have no helm showing like some of the less human-like companions do over having a generic human head with cat makeup but that's just me.

I'm happy to see more races but after waiting such a very long time for the Cathar I really wish they were more distinct.
