  1. In ANH the Stormtroopers successfully convince a former stormtrooper (Han Solo) that they were trying to kill them whilst firing from the hip, that they didn't accidentally hit anyone is a testament to their accuracy not a sign of inaccuracy. In addition you people need to get some experience in actually shooting a gun while on the move, it's not as easy as Hollywood would like to depict. For example on average for every insurgent killed by US armed forces in Iraq, we expended in excess of a thousand rounds.

Not that I'm disagreeing with you or anything but that last statement has more to do with utilizing superior firepower over accuracy, i.e. Putting up a wall of lead is better when keeping the enemy pinned down than one shot close by.

  2. back in my day we had to hook up an oscilloscope to an analog computer just to play Tennis for Two which was just watching a blurry ball vibrate back and forth in 1 color...

also we had to walk 20 miles uphill in the snow both ways to get said oscilloscope.. and while playing you had a 50/50 chance you or someone in your immediate vicinity would die of polio ..

Your memory must be getting fuzzy, I distinctly recall it being dysenteri, not polio.

  3. Back in my day we got to shoot cyborg hitler and save half-naked babes from alien pigs or run from castle to castle looking for princesses all the while eating mushrooms.

    What's your point?

  4. Yes! a barber shop is exactly what will fix this game, they should spend their time and money making a barber shop instead of fixing bugs, and quests.

Actually now that I think about it they should make Barbershop online the mmo, think about it, you can go get a perm, then go to the mall, then get some higlights and stuff.

    that would be sooooo awesome!!!!!!!!!!

Only if we can group up to form a barbershop quartet!

  5. My miraluka consular would like to be able to switch veils depending on the gear worn... Only reason I chose the shades was because it seemed like the only one that wouldn't interfere too much with the general look without consideration to gear. Hairdoos I don't really care about...
  6. I also believe that SW tech plateaued and basically just improvements to proven technology. Also TOR could not be drastically different for fans point of view so some recognizable SW (Luke Era) to enjoy. In SW lore how long has the light saber existed? Then TOR introduces Rakata tech that is in many way more advanced than SW tech as well as constant references to ancient tech that in many ways is more advanced! Kind of a cliche' but its in the lore.

SW tech is amazing considering that you can see the laser bolts moving when in our universe laser are too fast to be seen. Then there's traveling light speed in 3 seconds. Again in our universe this would cause any living being in the craft traveling that fast in that short of time to be puddles on the back wall of the **** pit. lol Then back to light sabers and SW tech ability to limit the length of a powerful laser let alone the battery tech to sustain power of that magnitude! Mind boggling!

    1. Plasma bolts

    2. Inertia dampeners (powerfull ones!)

    3. Plasma in a containment field.

oh and are you talking about Proto-sabers or the ones that don't require a portable car-battery connected to it? Because Proto Sabers are a about 2000 years older at least, the modern saber was invented by the sith roughly 1500 years before this game.

  7. The fact that you would resort to violence in the real world to solve your grievances says more about what kind of person you are than anything you do in an imaginary world on the internet.

It is a common trope in action films that the hero battles piles of bad guys only to see the villain escape with the object he is seeking.

Han shot first. And he sure as heck wouldn't hesitate to grab the loot and run while someone else was fighting. Same with Bobba or Vader or Palpatine.

Well if you just hand over the item or stick around for an arbitrary judgment on the matter I won't punch you in the face, how does that sound? If your parents failed to bring you up properly then I'll have to teach you a lesson.

    Person 1 works for Item.

    Person 2 takes item.

Person 1 is entitled to the item, person 2 is not.

There's the justification you were looking for, and it's a damn better justification than the excuse of "I'm RPing" wich is flawed by the fact that we can't interact when we're on the same faction, so there's no repercussions for d**chbaggery in a virtual world.

  8. Why do people feel it's still reasonable to assume that they own something that exists in a game is thiers merely because they are fighting some mobs in front of it?

Because if you did the same thing in real life I would punch you in the face when I was through with the mob and then take back what I had worked for and you had not, here on the other hand cowards and lazy bums can get away with it since we can't target people of the same faction.

  9. I didn't say you would... It's a hypothetical for a moral and ethical discussion. But, based off of your answer, I assume you would never ninja loot or a quest object?

no, I wouldn't. As I said in my earlier post if someone is fighting a mob that's guarding something I'll wait to see if that was what they were after or just the kills, If they kill the mob and leave I take the object, if not I wait for it to respawn. And I roll greed for companions.

  10. Earth's technology has changed drastically in the last 50 years lol

    so what?

You're compairing a plateued tech to tech that is still advancing.

Besides, by the time we get to the movies a lot of technological progress have been lost due to stagnation/peace. From tpm to rotj technology advance quite a lot in the military fields, Death Stars, galaxy guns, sun crushers...

  11. It's the worst thing about our wonderful advancing technology.

People don't get pounded as much any more for their d-baggery. Used to be, social stupidity would get you shunned or smacked.

No consequences = bad behavior. It's human nature.

Most of these people don't even know that they are d-bags. That's the worst part. As you can see from some of the posts already in this thread, people can justify anything. Total lack of self awareness...

Edit: I mean, think about the concept of no consequences for yourself too... If you knew, you *absolutely knew* that you could steal 10 million dollars with *no chance* of getting caught... No chance at all.... Would you steal that money? It's just a degree thing.

They are just willing to be a D-Bag for a Green Item in a chest and you only think about it for 10 million dollars. Lol.

No, I wouldn't steal 10 million dollars, I have integrity.

  12. Hi,

Why do people feel it's still reasonable to walk right past someone fighting some mobs guarding a security chest or gathering node and just take it? They could at least wait a few seconds to see if that's what the fighting player is going after. I've had this happen to me many times in this game already.

    *sheesh*

    Cheers.

Yeah, this has happened to me too a bunch of times, last time I was doing one of the first quests on Hoth, fought some mobs guarding a sensor or whatever, a jk comes by on his speeder takes the sensor and moves on, sure it respawned before the mobs but it was frickin annoying anyway.

If someone is fighting a mob that's guarding an object I'm also out for I wait to see if they get it first or if they were just after the kills if not I take it, if they do I can just wait for it to spawn again. the only exception is holocrons and the like since they aren't rendered unusable if I take it while someone else is fighting the guard.

Some people are just rude f***s.

  13. I wish the fleet travel passes you buy from the security key vendor took you to your ship's dock on the fleet rather than the ord mantell/tython departures. Beyond that, I don't really mind since I can use those any time.

    BUY!?

I haven't bought any and I can still use it...

  14. The title of this post is precisely what it says on your screen when your quest log is full. He did not know that the quest log being full was the cause, which is the entire reason he asked the question. Ironically, your misunderstanding of what this topic was about is the exact same misunderstanding that caused him to post.

You're the only one here who misunderstand...Bluemars is saying that bioware should change this stupid message. I thought the same thing as the op when I came to tatooine and couldnt accept quests. The error message is poorly worded, might as well just say "Your quest log is full".

  15. When I was looking this up to make sure I was remembering it correctly, I found all of them in the datarip so here they all are or at least my guesses for a couple:

    JK- Shield

    JC- Guardian

    T- Meteor

    S- Ace

    SW- Rage

    SI- Tempest

    BH- Scree

    IA- Nightshrike

I'm pretty damn sure troopers callsigns aren't Meteor...

  16. The Sith Empire of this time will eventually be defeated, and it's millions of citizens will become citizens of the Republic. And since this happens, it's not unlikely the Republic began using technology from the Empire to, perhaps, rebuild their fleet, or at least examine the designs and coming up with improvements on them. The dagger shape of Imperial ships may have been an efficient design.

Why wouldn't they exploit the technology of their defeated enemy? They used ancient Mandalorian designs (Kandosii-type Dreadnaught) to build the Dreadnaught-class Cruiser, in use during the Clone Wars. Another defeated enemy.

it IS a very efficient design, it has the maximum amount of turrets able to fire at the enemy at all times so long as you keep your enemy in front of you or in worst case off to the side while maintaining a small profile. the only downside is you are completely exposed from the direct backside, not really a problem while on the offensive.
