You can mod your stuff anywhere. You don't need workbenches.

No other MMO has "released" this way... it's not even close to as simple as being jealous. Sorry: you are wrong... totally wrong. And way to judge me and others like me without a clue.
I've read dozens of threads on this topic since my first beta test weekend. 90% of the current complaints are only polished turds. People are trying to find ways to validate their anger at not getting to play from minute one. And you're right, no other MMO has done this. How dare BioWare observe the difficulties of every other MMO's launch and attempt to alleviate them for the launch of Old Republic. They should just let us deal with the usual server crashes and ridiculous lag that we're used to. Improvements are for snobs.

Boils down to jealousy and greed. The people who are complaining are the ones who waited until last minute to pre-order, so they're throwing tantrums. Simple as that.

For all the people who are saying that ALL preorders should have gotten all seven days of early access...
Don't you realize that, in your scenario, there would be absolutely no purpose for early access to even exist? If they were to let us all have early access the same day, they'd make it start the 18th or 19th. Be happy that they bumped the early access ahead two days. That means that, even if you didn't get in today's waves, you're still going to be able to play the game two days ahead of when you would have before (assuming you preordered before, say, December).

I understand rolling invites was done to monitor server conditions etc. But wasnt there a fair way to do it to where everyone with pre-orders can start at the same time?
From a customer's/gamer's point of view, it's a bit unfair that some pple are getting a head start at leveling etc. I personally had no idea when pre-ordering that the "Early Access" attached to the Digital Deluxe I chose didnt guarentee access on the earliest date. Excuse my ignorance I guess....never experienced early-access rollling invites in previous mmo's.
Early access is not for the players. Early access is for BW to gradually load the servers with players so that *~everyone~* can play the game without constant server crashes for the first week after launch. Stop being greedy. There is nothing more fair than allowing access based upon when you submitted your pre-order code. It's a nice little bonus for the loyal fans.
Damage Meter, how to get if you want?
