  1. Damage meters are a tool to gauge your performance. When you use them the right way, you can compare different attack rotations to maximize your damage throughput. People who have bad experiences with damage meters are usually the players that don't understand what they're doing, get criticized, get shown their poor performance in real numbers, then get defensive instead of trying to improve themselves. There are always going to be the annoying people who spam meters and try to rub their epeens all over everybody else, but that's a small price to pay to have such an important tool for end-game content.
  2. You can mod your stuff anywhere. You don't need workbenches.
  3. I've read dozens of threads on this topic since my first beta test weekend. 90% of the current complaints are only polished turds. People are trying to find ways to validate their anger at not getting to play from minute one. And you're right, no other MMO has done this. How dare BioWare observe the difficulties of every other MMO's launch and attempt to alleviate them for the launch of Old Republic. They should just let us deal with the usual server crashes and ridiculous lag that we're used to. Improvements are for snobs.
  4. Boils down to jealousy and greed. The people who are complaining are the ones who waited until last minute to pre-order, so they're throwing tantrums. Simple as that.
  5. For all the people who are saying that ALL preorders should have gotten all seven days of early access... Don't you realize that, in your scenario, there would be absolutely no purpose for early access to even exist? If they were to let us all have early access the same day, they'd make it start the 18th or 19th. Be happy that they bumped the early access ahead two days. That means that, even if you didn't get in today's waves, you're still going to be able to play the game two days ahead of when you would have before (assuming you preordered before, say, December).
  6. Early access is not for the players. Early access is for BW to gradually load the servers with players so that *~everyone~* can play the game without constant server crashes for the first week after launch. Stop being greedy. There is nothing more fair than allowing access based upon when you submitted your pre-order code. It's a nice little bonus for the loyal fans.
