  1. It was probably a low damage match because, after a couple attempts, the fight just got so demoralizing that people on the Repub side just camped their one turret in a futile attempt to get their maximum defender medals before calling it a day.

I mean, 80% of the Repubs were melee, just imagine...

  2. Implying that BW, a successful studio for many years now, and EA, a publicly traded company, don't know how to process metrics.

But some dude on PA does. K.

You really should watch it before pumping Bioware's tires. The Extra Credits people have nothing to do with Penny Arcade.

^--This. If more developers paid attention to Extra Credits, our gaming future would be a lot brighter...

  3. The only problem i had with op was IF they opened me AND if i did'nt have my CC breaker on, which, even with ~650 expertise, was bringing me to 30% health at worst vs well geared operatives...

So... The only time you had a problem with them is if they are stupid, or if they were wailing on someone else?

    I get it...

  4. ...did I mention my other CCs, roots, range attacks, dots, and my ability to Vanish?

LOL..you're all still free kills. Just more so.

How come when everyone thought that the stun filled resolve, you were absolutely helpless after your opener, and could be kited into oblivion?

  5. I think you assume people were upset with your stun. Maybe some were, but my issue was with you taking people to 25% health before they stood up. As long as the burst is reduced enough that this doesn't happen in the 5.5 seconds of stun, that's fine with me.

I don't mind you being able to CC - everyone else can, after all.

Well, a 20% damage reduction and 20% armor pen reduction does not make up for an extra 2.5 seconds of stun, sooo....

  6. As a juggernaut (tanking) i use almost all of my skills as well to fight and i have to say im loving it. I would rather see that other classes get brought to this then making us 1 button spammers as well.

Yes we do need to use more skills to do our job decently well but i prefer that over the 1 or 2 button whack-'m-all that some classes can get away with (you know who they are :) )

Cant comment on the marauder point you made with the skills though, so i'll leave that to your fellow marauders.

Sent/Mara have to use everything in their toolbox as well, so that is not a problem.

There is a lot of skill bloat, and while I do agree with Overload Saber change (would be nice, but would probably be quite a buff, freeing us from spending 3 focus every 12 secs and possibly getting more procs than intended), I do not believe Annihilate/Merciless Strike really need any tweaking... It is costly, but it is our biggest damage dealer, and I wouldn't trust any damage studies until we have an optimal means of looking at the numbers.

  7. People are running around with over 16k-23k HP in BM gear. Even assuming an opening crit for 6k, how is that instagib? Even after a "mythical" full rotation of crits during the 3s knockdown: 6k + 3k + 3k = 12k. How is that instagib?

Because no one counts the dots (that can crit) that tick away during the duration of each of those hits. Everyone seems to neglect those because they are so fixated on shiny big numbers.

    Every little bit counts.

  8. If I go against ranged DPS, I am sadly outmatched no matter what I do. They can knock me back or stun me easily. They can simply move out of my range. They can run-and-gun. I've yet to discover any strategy that does anything here, save perhaps for the suggestion earlier to use Force Camo, except on a JK I think our stealth is only good for 6 seconds. I had better take full advantage to get in range, and surprise a ranged DPS well enough to chain something before they move, or get enough focus for Force Stasis.

Force Camo is 4 secs, with a 30% speed increase. More than enough time to sneak up on a RDPS, making it invaluable to starting the fight. It's CD is relatively low, too, so it will be up pretty reliably. If they get the jump on you, hit it as well. Either it will break your snare that they put on you, or at least negate any damage and keep them from targeting you. Hit them with Pacify, which basically means they can hardly hit you for 6 seconds, and wait for them to KB you. Force leap and unload again. It's rather formulaic, and very effective. Give it a try.

  9. You have a free cast slow... that u can keep up 100% of the time. You have a Force Crush that removes SPRINT from councelors/sorc class(ONLY one in game). You have mortal strike. You have Multiple leaps. You have temp vanish to close the gap. You have Stun imunnity. You are not helpless. I am sorry.

Snare is helpful, won't lie. "Force Crush" is a touchstone ability in a tree that is not very good with DPS, so not many Sentinels will ever take it, same with the second leap. Mortal strike is on a completely different tree, so unless you are insinuating that we can spec up fully two different trees...

As for stun immunity...am I missing something, because I am stunned all the time, within my resolve's 2min CD...

  10. I can't stun them unless I can get in range, earn a few focus, and then slowly activate Force Statis, which has a nasty cool down. It doesn't activate quickly, can be interrupted easily, and then is wasted.

You have to channel stasis, which means standing still. Also, you do not need any focus to apply it, because it is a focus builder. Still pointless as an opener...

  11. I agree, it is not an easy class to play. A lot of the time, I try to avoid starting the fight with force leap, as that is just asking for a KB. I typically use force camo to sneak up on them, hit them with zealous and snare them. When they KB you (and they probably will), then you force leap back and unload your full rotation. If they stun you, just hope you have trinket up. I know it's a little discouraging, considering how many stuns there are and how we have none, but it's the sad truth.

It's much harder to be a good sentinel than a good *insert class here*. All the L2P people just don't understand how demanding the class actually is, don't listen to them.

  12. WAR's engine was a huge problem. TOR's performance issues are nothing by way of comparison, and WAR's engine STILL has the same problems 2 years on.

Hey, TOR's engine is no gem, either. I can't get my GTX 470 to run higher than 60%, even in Ilum, yet I'm slide-showing like a champ. And don't forget the delay bug--try PvPing as an instacast melee and having to hit the same button 10 times before something fires.

But I concede that WAR, being a PvP oriented game at heart, was fundamentally more flawed than this.

However, not giving a **** about PvE, I'm just as dissatisfied. I just expected it this time.

  13. Blasphemy. I actually really enjoyed Warhammer, but it was broken on a level that TOR isn't. TOR has some fundamentals in place, they've just had lousy execution. WAR's fundamentals were screwed from the get-go.

It's a shame, too. I REALLY wanted to like that game. DAoC it was not.

I'll give you that classes in WAR were a big factor that SWTOR didn't necessarily had to deal with, but the broken end game PvP, the one sided favor, the blatant ignorance to test groups... It's all there.

I too wanted it to work... And I really hope the rumor of "Dawn of Camelot" being scrapped because of Mythic's demise, was all BS...

  14. I never said anything of the sort. I don't have any DATA, so I'm not going to make wild claims based on anecdotal experience. If more people would do the same, it would make internet forums a lot more tolerable.

I by no means think the game is perfect.

Anecdotes make the world go round. Here's another:

Everything we see here, we saw in Warhammer Online. Deja vu.

The name has changed, but the faces remain the same...

  15. What portion? How much is "hefty"? Can I see your stats? Where are you pulling your data from?

Any Republic loss from a PvP server is "hefty" and don't think all unsub threats are empty. Oh the hubris. My guild all unsubbed, several other people I know have as well. It will only get worse, especially considering the game caused EA's stock to drop 3% as of today per MarketWatch.

I applaud you for calling me on my numbers, but assuming that everything is honky-dory, you fail to back up YOUR claim...so...

    yeah...

  16. All I'm seeing is: I want to roll level 14 Guardians again!

Feel the pain. It's only going to get worse now that Imperial valor exploiters will be gaining BM gear and a hefty portion of Republic unsubbed.
