  1. I cancel my sub over a week ago, shows I have 0 game time left. Yet i still can post:eek: Maybe the forums are bugged lol. Anyways just killing a few minutes at work till i get off. Which is now:D have a good weekend
  2. For vet MMO players you are correct. For many this is the 1st MMO they have played, the draw of Star Wars and all that. Plus the rabid Star Wars fans will play no matter what. And honestly if this was the 1st MMO I played I would probably love it and rave about it myself. Overall not a bad game. I just expected a hell of alot more for 2012. And dont forget that only a small % of MMO gamers even read forums, and an even smaller % post. I wont post numbers but I read a study a few years back on the subject. So even with all the complaints on the forums only a small % of the people who play will even notice. I personally never want any game to fail. I just cant support mediocrity like some people can. I do wish Bioware all the luck in getting this game into shape:)
  3. From what I have read most MMO's see a fairly sharp decline after the 1st couple of months. You will have to wait until the 3rd month, then 6th month to really see how much growth, or lack of TOR subs. The MMO market has very much changed in the past 5-7 years. The market is saturated, with many more MMO's coming in 2012. Players are a bit more picky, as well they should be, with so many titles to choose from. Mediocrity was a little better received when there was only 3-4 games, now with dozens to choose from people expect more. Everyone wants a slice of the WoW sub pie. But no one seems to be able to release a game that gives it a run for its money with the masses.
  4. I think you underestimate the amount of sheeple that will play this game just for the Star Wars title. If this game did not have that IP associated with it then it would not last 6 months. I honestly do hope that they fix the problems and turn this game around. I would continue playing but the many issues make it not worth the money to me. Hopefully they will have enough supporters to continue to improve the game in the coming months.
  5. The game is not broken. Missing tons of basic features? yes Bugged or non functioning features? yes Great game for 2003? yes Broken implies non working, as in when I push play it does not work. I have seen alot of complaints, but being broken wasnt in many of them.
  6. Hopefully they will be proactive in maintaining healthy server populations. Even if it means server mergers. More than likely it will be ignored until its too late.
  7. Why not just buy a new motherboard? or whatever caused the problem. A hell of alot cheaper than blowing $400 at bestbuy for an emachine:rolleyes:
  8. With this many people playing any game you will always have rude people. Its impossible to have the numbers of SWTOR & WOW and not have a metric ton of ******s playing. And usually these people are the most vocal, especially in general chat. This is also not exclusive to MMO's. Go play CoD, BF3, LoL ect and you can really see & hear how many people are rude just for the hell of it. And actually overall I have had really good experiences with meeting people. Added many to friends lists and a very few to ignore overall. One of the better MMO communities I have experienced, especially at launch. Keep in mind this will differ from server to server.
  9. I will not. Sub has been canceled already and have not logged into the game for several days. Overall not a bad game but just not what I personally was looking for. I hope all who stay enjoy it and hopefully bioware will improve upon the game. I will be following the updates / patches and may resub in the future.
  10. Glad its working better for you
  11. Well he may want to use his computer for something that does require 4g+ of RAM Crazy I know. Unless it is a dedicated SWTOR box and is never used for anything but that. Whats the harm in upgrading from 3gb to 4 or 6? It may or may not help with TOR, I have said that as well. But overall I would do it just because its a cheap and easy upgrade.
  12. There may be a more technical term. but your Mobo should have color coded slots. Put the 2 2gb sticks in the "red" slots and the 2 1gb sticks in the " black ones". or whatever colors. I think that is how dual channel mobo slots are.
  13. It may be that you will have to OC the RAM to get that 1066 speed. If you know how then buy it, if not buy the 4gb G Skill off newegg for $46 bucks IMO, its ddr2 800 which is what you have now.
  14. NEWEGG.com has DDR2 everywhere and very cheap. 4gb G skill ddr2 800 for $46 bucks. Not sure about overseas, but in US RAM is easy to find and cheap on newegg and tigerdirect.com
  15. Oh yeah I agree with you, it probably is drivers/firmware on the different machines. And i am no expert by any means. But it seems like with game engines some work better with a variety of drivers/firmware and some dont. TOR engine maybe just does not work as well with such a large variety of drivers/firmware as some others. And how does one fix that on the user end? If its grafix drivers sure, but what if its firmware on something obscure, or a soundcard issue, ect. One with a high performance system buys a product and naturally assumes it will work well with that system. Maybe they shouldnt, but they do.
