when u level up slicing u make lots of money but I believe that once u cap slicing it is supposed to be used only for getting resources and not making a boat load of credits just by sitting around doing nothing -

I suggest doing as many side quests as u can find just dont do so many that u get overleveled -
Yes I noticed this too I had a chest plate I got at level 15 and when I got to level 20 i got the same one with better stats but with just one blue line in it going up the back and stuff

Honestly I had a horrible time on dromund kaas with all the trees and stuff so I used my bros comp and it worked fine and then when I was done there I used my normal one.

I think personally it should be like SWG where u did not get any xp from open PvP unless u had quests and even then u barely got any at all Just my honest opinion
