  1. was pushed by "force wave" (sage/shadow) and got stun (i think by smuggler) IMMEDIATELY after activation of "force shroud" ability (it was shown on my screen as shine of my char). this is not first time i getting stun and/or push while under "force shroud" (lag around 80ms).

was killed by "saber throw" ability, while i am under "force cloak", this is annoying! i can understand if i would killed by sticky grenade (since it on me already) or DoT, but not "saber throw" (since there is NO WAY to understand if it already cast on u or not).

BW PLZ fix it - make "saber throw" effect instant or remove GCD from "force cloak" and "force shroud" since usually both of them are blocked due to wrong coordination of "saber throw" and "force cloak" or change the description of "force cloak" ability (since "force cloak" DOES NOT grant "virtual undetectable bla bla").

plz, nerf bubbles. allow to sage create only 2 or 3 bubbles and leave "bubble stun" only for himself (jugg/sent/guard/etc do not need extra stun they r fine atm and can kill any1 without extra stuns).

operatives - kl guys i have 1, however as assassin I have some problems with em, i.e. quite often i can not hit em, they move fast around u and ur abilities wont activate since if the guy in front of u (on yr screen) - it is a lie, because he is already behind/aside of u (I believe it is due to lack of client sync.. again my lag around 80ms, however sometimes i can stun guy, next moment he teleports 2-10m aside), so sometimes duels with op proceed quite funny, i.e. 20 sec fight with 0me-100op %hp (and this is without any stun).

The bubble stun is the only useful bit you've got in this thing...

Otherwise this is just a classic case of L2FP, if you're turning with your keyboard...you're doing it wrong. If you're backpedaling....you're reaaaaallly doing it wrong. But by all means continue keyboard turning, you guys taste great skewered on my saber...nom nom nom

As for your vanish...just cuz Bilbo had an invisibility ring wouldn't stop an arrow from going through his head would it? No. Same idea here, my saber was whirling at your neck from 5 feet away, just cuz I can't see you doesn't mean it can't still cut you.

  2. OP is right in a lot of WZ's i'll be cc'd til dead and the CC/Roots/Stuns/Knockbacks/Knockdowns are way outta control in this game.

It's called being jumped 3/4/5/6/7/8v1....it happens

That said the more annoying thing in the game are roots, but hey I like to use my roots too...if you get CCd/rooted to death....why don't you try doing it to your opponents as well?

  3. Clearly, gear is op, and it's you who has missed the point. I mean, every on e in this game is stunned 4 liek half the game and every body is losing games because of it! Like, wth BW!

Uhhhh...if everyone is stunned for (not 4, learn to type like a big boy) half the game...and everyone is losing because of it...shouldn't your enemies be losing because of it too? Hmm strange how you can't both lose...which means one of you has to win...which means one team had to of gotten the advantage be it through gear, tactics, luck, skill, or a combination thereof. Gear is gear, you are rewarded for your time and effort playing as it should be. If you fight another noob in recruit then there is where you can prove your skill...better yet try proving your skill by owning WHs while youre in recruit/BM like I used to, it is doable even though its difficult and most likely beyond your abilities. Yes a gear advantage makes a big difference, solution: GRIND THROUGH IT WITHOUT ************ OUT LIKE ALL THOSE WAR HEROS THAT MOP THE FLOOR WITH YOU DID. I did it, my friends did it, even my girlfriend did it and she didnt whine nearly as much as you.

And as for the OP...L2P a healer, yes it is more difficult to get 16+ medals like the taunter/dpsers do, and yes you will get focused fired more. But learn to play around it, learn to be less noticeable, learn to get away, and lastly realize that if you have 3 dps chasing you around for 45 seconds thats 45 seconds your team has 3 less dpsers beating on them so you are still helping. Again, my girlfriend plays better than you guys, she has a scoundrel heals, consistently outheals WH healers, gets tons of medals, and she's only in BM. L2P then complain.

  4. I'm saying that arenas don't have have to be part of the gear progression, or people will start asking for their classes to be viable in arenas. Since in a 4v4 (or smaller) scenario it's all about group composition, that is impossible to achieve for all classes.

That is why i said that it should be only a secondary part of the game. People ask for it cause they want competition but don't want to wait for 8 guildies to be logged to get in a RWZ. I understand that, i feel that need to, but please keep them away from ever becoming a factor in class balancing.

It's difficult but it's not impossible to get it fairly close, and as I've said earlier I think balance in this game is already a good deal ahead of the balance in most other MMOs, there are a few glaring imbalances with how easy some classes are to play at a high level and commandos being nigh impossible to play, but from my point of view the fixes for all the major problems would be fairly easy.

  5. Add arenas, sure, but don't add any kind of reward for them except for cosmetic things.

They should be just that, a fun thing you do with a friend when you have nothing else to do. A kind of minigame.

Oh and something to do when you have nothing else to do? We are all playing a video game...we all have nothing else to do (sort of). So what you're saying is that I shouldn't do arenas until I've finished my all important world boss weekly homework? Or until I finish raiding with my guild? cuz I don't PVE so that would be awhile. If you don't want to take arenas seriously thats fine, you will be in the noob bracket and that's ok. But don't assume that no one else wants to take them as seriously as you take your flashpoints.

  6. The game is to poorly balanced to make it work. Others have mentioned working world pvp and fact of the matter is, you are never going to get it. Least not on the scale of other games right now. The engine is **** and if they haven't fixed Ilum by now, they are never going to fix it. Accept it and play or pick up one of the titles with working large scale pvp, cause this is not it.

I've played a lot of games with much worse balance. It's not that bad here, and the problems there are can be easily fixed if the devs just make the obvious changes that are right in front of them...that said the problems aren't that bad. If you're having trouble maybe its an L2P or a gear issue? Unless you're a commando I guess, then yes you are butter and we are all hot knives.

  7. Add arenas, sure, but don't add any kind of reward for them except for cosmetic things.

They should be just that, a fun thing you do with a friend when you have nothing else to do. A kind of minigame.

Oh great, one of those "Don't make me do something to get something people." I don't think that arenas should necessarily have their own gear rewards, but it should give something. Like half WZ comms/half RWZ comms. That way RWZ teams are rewarded more with full RWZ comms because it takes more organizing to do them. That's just one idea though. I would also assume they would try to keep the comms/hour rate about the same with the other two, so you wouldn't win nearly as many comms per Arena as with WZs. However, thats really something to figure out how the devs want to do it, you don't want people to just stop doing WZs/RWZs, so you have to find the right balance of commendation/cosmetic/gear rewards so that each type of PVP has something to offer. Though all that said the prestige is a major driving force for people with arenas. They want to be one of those 2k+ teams, so arena systems already have a lot of incentive built in by nature.

  8. I'm all for arena as I said in a previous post.

I'm just not for constant balancing around the arena... That's what ruins it for me. A lot of the classes in this game shine so *********** bright with proper team support but when you put them in a smaller team situation they just do so terrible and then there are the classes that are the opposite of that, extremely well in small scale situations and terrible in large.

Plus you add in the way the different classes group utility works and it kinda starts to go even farther down hill for small scale situations.

Someone start up a web site where we can register and get a real arena system going on via server forums and that. We could probably calculate everything and it'd be fun to do and see how everything goes.

The balancing, if done properly, can be not so painful, even downright fun if classes are getting buffs. But yes the balancing is what can make or break PVP. Some teams will work better together than others against certain teams than others and there isn't much of a way around that besides making all classes exactly the same, which I don't think they'd do, but the only way to find out how classes would perform in meta-game arenas is to put them in so we can do them. I agree though. It would suck if they rambled through patch after patch making major changes, all we could do is hope they got it right (mostly) quickly. I believe there's a much greater reward for having arenas than there is risk averted by not having them.

  9. Yeah it is a pain to get together a rated team sometime but setting times with guildies and having an array of guildies to fill spots as needed is probably a must if you want to do rwz's as much as possible.

And eh not enough population to put together a match teams by rating system nor is there an actual team rating system which would probably need to be put in too. Sure no one would have a problem with sticking to just one team anyways and the pugs can just join a team to grind their comms like they want.

I agree with your first two points, which is why I want arenas. lol. But I know most serious PVP teams wouldn't take random puggers for their real teams if the person just wanted to fill in unless they were exceptional. Being that there arent enough RWZ teams for a rating system to be implemented arenas are the perfect fill in for this. Arena teams are smaller and easier to come by, which means arenas are a good way for noob recruit/BM players to get into competetive PVP since they can make a team with their other recruit/BM friends and get paired up in the lower rating brackets and still be somewhat competetive within that bracket. (And no I am not saying that because I'm not geared and want an easier time for myself, my main is full EWH/WH, full augs, and fully re-modded with lvl 63 EWH mods)

  10. I love PVP, my main is a fully geared and augmented WH healer OP. i would be fooling myself if i thought that the "BULK MAJORITY" <== of players in most MMO'S including this one were pvpers. the bulk majoritys are PVER'S and i can assure you if their toons are constantly nerfed and played with at the expense of pvp they will take their wallets elsewhere, and we can all agree this game cant afford that to happen at this point. We have competition in this game right now its called rated wzs, which would be much more challageing than a death match between a FOTOM 4 vrs 4. if you want an over hyped duel then go to Illium and duel. im certain if you spammed general there youd have plenty of that, or better yet flag yourself and camp a faction area.

    there problem solved.

The majority of players are casuals that come and go, hit 50 (if that) and leave, maybe come back for a big patch or an expansion. So I guess they mainly quest and do the easy FP/OPs stuff which means they are PVEers of sorts, but I know many like that who PVP as well or just PVP (many more than I'd like to know). I don't know if the people who stick around tend to be PVPers or PVEers...but if pandering to only PVEers is the way to get people, and tinkering for PVP loses subs then why have PVP in the game at all? I'm not claiming PVP is more important than PVE but it is at least as important. With no PVP for a great deal of people, myself included, this becomes a sub-par co-op console game that they "beat" then leave.

  11. WE have a way to compete. It's called rated war zones.

If you can't realize that arena in WoW was a constant balance issue then you're blind. It was stupid at all the buffs and nerfs that went on to the demand of the pvp'ers, who we all know aren't any MMO's main subscriber base, to ask blizzard to do the stupid **** they did.

I'm all for arena's in this game... Given it doesn't become the **** fest that it did in WoW and it provides NOTHING but entertainment period, meaning all you get is a rating and no rewards from it. Maybe a title or something at the end of the season for being on top? A mount... something dumb.

I'm well aware of RWZ and I do them. However, I already explained some of their limitations in my initial post. I can't just call up a buddy whenever and hop on for 30 minutes of RWZ like I could for arenas in WoW. You have to organize an 8-man group for RWZ, which means you rely more-so on: luck of having enough friends on, scheduling with guildmates in advance, pugging (headache), or a combination of all 3. Just puts many people off. I do enjoy RWZ, but I think arenas are also needed. Competetive PVP is much more accessible to everyone with an arena system. Not saying get rid of RWZ. Just add arenas.

Also, potentially less QQ from all the noobs as you can match teams by ratings...not practical with RWZ because of so few teams...then again there is always QQ

  12. Oh and here is the quote from the article about one of the WoW guys thinking arenas were a mistake. Mind you this comes from a hardcore PVE guy, he is not a PVPer.

"We really never designed WoW to be a competitive e-sports game; it was something that we decided to start tackling because there was such a desire and demand to evolve it in that direction, to introduce competitive arenas."

Notice the desire and demand part? They knew that competition is what keeps a game fun. Without it you're just banging your head against a wall. He then goes on to say that it was the balancing that it took to make arenas work that they regretted. So, what can we take from that comment? People like being able to compete, and it will take balance work. Not that it's a mistake because it makes a game less fun, quite the opposite.

  13. I played wow competetively for 4+ years, balance was much worse in that game. And yes certain specs are better than others for arenas, just as certain specs are better for PVE than for PVP, nothing to QQ over and tweaks can be made where needed to classes/specs. Though I will say that when classes became homogenized in WoW that was the beginning of the end for me on that game, the moves in this game are already fairly similar so I dont believe they'd have to make them any more homogenized than they currently are. And world PVP is great...but it's not competetive, and much more difficult to implement in a fun, practical, and rewarding enough way that players will actually do it than it is to implement a few arenas. Please see Ilum. It was terribly implemented according to most people, it was never fun to run around in a circle collecting boxes for hours, and there was no ranking system and therefore no true competition. You lose a lot of PVPers without competition.
  14. Just wondering if we will ever get WoW style arenas, simple 2v2-4v4 death matches. This has always been my favorite form of pvp. Getting together 8 people to do ranked is a pain, especially cuz you have to hope another group is doing the same. If they aren't you are SOL. Another issue with having Ranked Warzones as your only competetive pvp is that you don't allow us to create teams so we are restricted to basically doing it as a guild in most cases, which makes it even more difficult to PUG a rateds teams and/or to have enough people on from you guild to do it.

Quick and dirty arena matches are fast with short queues (you have large numbers of groups that queue for them at any time), fun ( especially compared to pugging regular WZs even with a couple friends as you aren't forced to play with half a team that has no clue where the ball is much less how to pass it), more fun for people gearing up (You can match teams better based on their team arena rating), and more competetive and fun for those of us who are hardcore and already geared. Also it's a nice change of pace from WZs to have the only objective be to kill your enemies.

All things considered, pvp is extremely lacking without this avenue and I don't know how much longer I'll continue playing without it. I've always been into competetive PVP and the lack of competition in this game is stifling and makes the game feel as stagnant as the untargetable NPCs you've got in most the tiny lvling hub towns. PLEASE CONSIDER ARENAS. IT WILL MAKE THIS GAME TRULY GREAT.

  15. The fact is you would never bring a full recruit player to a rated warzone, and that should speak for the issue. Even full BM isnt good enough. I dont understand the logic of the gear grind in this game. It is a barrier to (re-)entry in this game for unsubbed players, and as a subbed player with more time than the average player, it is a still an unfun bore. It is also a barrier to entry for rated warzones (probably why theyre so unpopular) because you need the right 8 man composition and you need everyone fully geared. Not an easy thing to have, at least not consistently.

Holy crap, man...cry some more please. You wouldnt take someone in PVE greens to do hardmode EC would you? NOPE. Its the same thing, rateds right now tend to be for the best of the best. Not the noobs. If you want to be on even par with someone who has spent a huge amount of time dedicated to playing as soon as you turn the computer on...then this isn't your game. Maybe you should try Call of Duty...or better yet the sims sounds more like your kind of game. Damn right my guardian will roflstomp your *** in 5 seconds if you just dinged 50. Ive been playing him since the game came out. I don't complain when i switch to my combat medic or my shadow in recruit/bm gear that i cant just face roll everyone, I havent put the time in on them to earn that. Go vote for Obama maybe he'll tell you "they didn't build their toons" and give you a free set of WH.

That said I do think they need an arena system for small groups of 2-4, would make it much easier to get people into competetive pvp and much easier to group the bads with the bads and the pros with the pros so we don't have to listen to so much QQ.

  16. Question:

Why should an AC that has hybrid opportunity, or utility in the form of taunts/heals, do as much damage as an AC that only does damage/has utility directly related to increasing damage?

I ask because your posts indicate that you feel like Guardians should do similar damage to Sentinels, and I don't feel that way at all.

I feel as though Sentinels/Marauders and Snipers/Gunslingers should be the top DPS classes and the other ACs should all be grouped together somewhere below that. I believe that's also the Dev theory too, given the statements on how the classes are supposed to be within 5% of each other (i.e. by saying that there is an obvious intent for certain classes to perform at a higher DPS level).

In the Ops I've run, this seems to be the case. Sentinels/Gunslingers routinely pushing high DPS on any fight, while the other ACs perform slightly below them but depending on fight mechanics may equal or slightly surpass them (an example being Toth and Zorn are tougher on melee DPS, so a sage might do 2nd DPS behind a gunslinger in that fight).

You sound like you've never PVPed against maras/sents or slinger/snipers.

Mara/sent have insane defensive buffs and heals from dots that generally make them just as tanky or even more so than my focus guardian plus a vanish. Sure they can't taunt but they have Ops heals. And usually get more in healing than I do in protection (unless I'm not in my dps stance). And slingers can range snare/stun, debuff healing (think Mara/sent can also?), unable to be charged/pulled/interrupted while in cover, great node protectors with 15 second duration casted (as opposed to channelled) aoes, an absorb shield, plus 20 seconds of immunity to ALL CC on 1 minute cooldown and a huge aoe 20% DMG mitigation for all teammates that lasts just as long. Guess I'm just saying that there is a lot more involved with utility than just whether a class can taunt/cast heals. Not to mention taunting is hardly utility when you are fighting by yourself where as sent and slinger utility is just as good alone as in a group.

  17. I don't get paid to play this game. I am not here to teach. I am not here to get along with you. I am here to play with my "elitest" friends. If you were on my server you would fear me also...GUARANTEE IT. Give me 8 man q's so i can see more Premades ruin pvp threads.

Haha this is what gets me with you premade players. You all think you are so amazing, but don't realize that virtually all of your percieved individual "skill" comes from having several other players coordinating with you. Cool story here, I got in a big **** talking fight with the main Imp pre-made guild on my server (im republic) and they all started telling me how they always kill my teams in warzones, and thus were vastly greater in skill than I. One thing leads to another and they agreed to send out their biggest and baddest to actually put his **** on the line and fight me in a 1v1 fight on Ilum...a dps bounty hunter by the name of Xath. You can imagine what happened next...did he come and roflstomp me like him and his 3-5 buddies do often in WZs? Nope, not even close. Their biggest and baddest guy (even more geared than I am mind you) gets facerolled into the dirt by my Jedi Guardian. He's dead and i have 40% hp left...I have friends, random ppl ask me to group with them and play all the time, I do but only as random friends, otherwise i just roll alone or with my girlfriend. I never actually pre-made because I don't like waiting around for ppl, or the drama associated with guilds (i left one of the main pub pvp guilds for related reasons). So I'm an example of a competent, able player. Capabale of premading if I wished, I just enjoy the game more solo or with 1 or 2 friends who happen to be around.

So mike....I highly doubt anyone shakes in their boots when they see you coming....they just shake their heads and say "great, here comes mikedee and 5 of his ******* friends again". Ganging up on ppl=less skill so you can trash the whole premade player means you're a better more deserving player, you're just like all the rest of us, except youre too whiny to roll alone.

  18. Allow people to queue 8 man WZ's and BW can take all the time in the world with RW. I think this is main issue people have about the delay.

BW should have allowed full group queuing from day one and developed a robust matching system, that would match where possible, premades with premades and PuG's with PuG's. This should have been a very standard feature of a next generation MMO.

Instead we are waiting patch after patch. To keep themselves busy, people have gone through most of the game content in the meantime, and now they are just sitting and waiting, and waiting, and waiting some more.

Do you have any idea how long the queues would be if they forced premade vs premade and pug vs pug? At least on my server Pub side I'd sit around all day waiting for that crap. Unless they had it so that it would pair up premade vs pug which would put us back in a much worse position than we are now 4man premade vs pug is bad enough can you imagine 8 man premades? lol Yes yes i can hear it now, "L2P and make a premade of your own". Some of us don't have time or enough good player friends to do that, and some just flat out don't want to do that. Thats like the ppl who say if you hate sents/mara make one of your own. Uhh, I prefer to play the class I think is fun and engaging in pvp. Not the flavor of the month. People shouldn't be forced to play in premades or have a really **** day if they don't. Just like they shouldn't be forced to play a specific class just to be any good. Hence the constant balancing act of mmo's.

So, in a very round-about way, all I'm saying is 8 man queues would be **** at this point due to (1) extremely long queues while ppl wait for other premades/pugs to fight againtst their premade/pug (2) Assuming they make the system for (1) more lenient to allow pug v 8man premades it would make life absolute hell for ppl who queue solo or only with a couple friends who play classes they enjoy rather than three other power-rollers they know.

  19. I think its been magnified lately since they made force push reset force leap. i play a guardian and i like the change but i really cant justify it.

Lately? Force push has reset force leap for quite sometime. Why do they have it set up that way? Well, let me ask you this. Why the hell would I EVER want to push someone away from my MELEE class (aside from pushing off a ramp or into fire or away from goals) if it did not give me a way to close that gap again? Generally we want to be right in people's faces, if force push did not reset leap then it would almost never get used except in huttball matches.

  20. R.I.P. Mask of Nihilus Rep pvp...the queues for Pubs to get into Warzones have consistently been around 20 minutes all day and higher at times, 20 extra minutes where Imps continue playing more WZs with eachother, getting their gear and then having that much more of an advantage the next time they face Pubs. It was bad pre 1.2 but now its horrible, I played for hours every day, still havent saved up enough to get my first war hero piece (the chest piece), and it took me 3 days to win 3 matches to finish my weekly. Although now we don't seem to be getting put in WZs with only 4 ppl as often...only happened to me twice today, and only had 6 ppl 3 or 4 times, so out of the 15 or so WZs i did, about half were full this time, much improved from the last few weeks. But honestly you couldn't tell we had full groups anyways. The gear gap is ridiculous (And I'm in full BM so its not my lacking).

Its sad...but MoN PvP died for me today.

  21. Movies do a terrible job at representing at what a lot of the stuff its showing off even if its science fiction. Hell fighter jets don't even dog fight anymore. They just shoot missiles at each other from 50 miles out and get hit before they even realize it.

Actually when they first invented target locking missiles they thought just that....but quickly found out that we lost a lot of air superiority when pilots were not trained to dog fight. Hence why we have the Top Gun program

  22. Problem with neutrality for me lore wise is people act like its neither bad nor good....but being good isnt supposed to be about a bullheaded ignorance to whats going on around you...its supposed to be about doing the RIGHT thing all the time (hence one reason why jedi can't have attatchment, otherwise they might sacrifice a 1,000 people to save 1 person they "love"). Also, are you truly 'neutral' if you only kill the defenseless kid SOMETIMES? Or even if you just decide not to act and let the kid die SOMETIMES? Neutrality is either impotence and inability to decide on a path (which deciding not to act is a decision in itself and therefore usually either good or bad, for example just watching your friend blast some little kid when you could have stopped him is almost as bad as blasting the kid yourself), or it is complete imbalance swaying wildly light to dark and back again. Lore-wise, why should an unblanaced and conflicted mind be rewarded the same as a consolidated and purposed mind focused towards a goal? Obviously a mind with purpose is more likely to achieve high levels than a mind who can't decide on a route. Who will reach the top of the mountain first? The man who picks the left path or the right with conviction? or the man who first picks left then every few hundred feet decides to traverse the face of the mountain to the other path?

But from a gameplay perspective and a 'fun factor' i can understand why a 'neutral' gear set would be put in, so people who want to do good and bad equally can have gear...
