  1. Having done the grind pre 1.1, I don't think there's anything to complain about. The grind from 50 to 60 I think took me somewhere over 60 hours (I built a spreadsheet so I had something to count down and calculate the hours). Those times, I didn't even gain valor on ilum for kills I got... Getting to battlemaster is about grinding, that's the way MMOs work. You're going to need to put hours into getting there. If you're not winning warzones, then perhaps you are not playing well enough to impact your team, or perhaps you need to start getting people to queue with. Keep in mind, the Ilum change made it easier to get to battlemaster than previous, so now Bioware seems to be adjusting downward.
  2. Last night my guild and I went through HM EV til SoA and planned to finish it up this evening. However, when we formed up and entered the operation, it seems that everything is normal mode. Has anyone had this experience or know of work around? We've tried reseting, new leaders, reforming group, quitting and coming back in. Thanks, Cinn
  3. Definitely agree that the harassment is annoying and makes it far more difficult for me to heal. A good dps will eventually burn me down as I run out of mana to heal myself. There are a couple dps on my server who will go after me with each life, and then I have to get a tank to come and pocket guard/peel for me so that I can heal. When I'm ops lead, I'll always mark healers and tell the ops group to go after them, you can't leave healers around or you will have trouble/not do as well.
  4. I have the same experience. I have a 50 sage healer. When I was grinding to battlemaster (pre 1.1), I can consistently get 8 medals... 10 kills, 25 kills, 75k damage, 2.5k heal, 5k heal, 75k heal, 300k heal, killing blow if i get lucky, i'll be able to get solo kill and 2.5k damage, and on alderaan, 1k def, 3k def. the key is really to make sure you dot people/damage and step out and damage after you reach certain healing landmarks. yes it still pissed me off that certain dps could get slightly more medals (friend who grinded with me consistently got 1 more), but i didn't think it was that big of a deal as i usually made that up in MVP votes. that said, focusing on medals isn't the optimal way to win, though my team won 90% of the time (w/ premade of 2 people). i find that having healers really does help a team win, and so that's one of the hidden advantages to being a healer.
  5. Republic is frog dogs I think unless you play against other republic where you have a chance of being rottworms
  6. The patch made it so getting valor on Ilum was easier (maybe, not actually sure about this). But more importantly it made PvPing more important on Ilum via dailies and weeklies. So both Sith and Republic on PvP. Seems great. Except Sith outnumber Republic and was able to beat Republic and camp the spawn point. This led to Sith getting an insane amount of valor in a relatively short amount of time. On servers where Republic was able to hold, they were also able to farm valor quite quickly as well, though not to the same level Sith was able to.
  7. Really liked the OP. Thanks for making it readable and everything. I did notice someone saying something about being annoyed others got 60. For me, I knew that it would be easier to get to 60 post patch. That was okay. I had a goal and I went for it. The problem in my mind is that for one faction is became very easy and for another it became easy. A friend of mine on republic grinded 30k-40k in 3 hours. That would've taken me 8, maybe 9 hours pre patch. That difference seems a bit too much.
  8. The difference is that both sides did it. This time, it's for the most part, only one faction with a population advantage on most servers, that are able to do this. fyi, I got my battlemaster by trading points and queuing up warzones. i've never seen this kill trading on Ilum.
  9. Very possible. I do wonder sometimes when people on here talk about losing warzone after warzone. Feels like sometimes, there's 1 person in common.
  10. I sort of agree, but I can imagine one reason is that you can get more champion bags than battlemaster. You can only get 1 bm from each weekly and you cannot purchase them, compared to 3 from weekly and purchasable.
  11. The problem is dailies. Some people are playing in warzones only for the win and once that is out of reach, or they think is out of reach, they move on to the next warzone. The valor and commendations are secondary concerns to this group.
  12. We couldn't leave base well because we'd get zerged down quite quickly being outnumbered badly. Sith couldn't enter base because w/ turrets it probably would go Republics ways. So the entire time, it was 40 (or however many they had) people sit outside the base, 25 sit inside base, every now and then someone gets pulled and zerged down. You are right that we could have done different things. We did backdoor cap, can't hold it for any period of time. As you noted, they took it back quickly. We did move out, but got zerged down by bigger imperial balls. We did get some bonuses, but minimal. Comparatively, our gains were smaller than the gains gotten by Sith. Talking with their top PvPers, they were easily hitting warhero+, none of our battlemasters got close. The reason I want rollbacks is I'd like to see some balance restored to the relative pvp ranks of people.
  13. I am a battlemaster sage healer on Death Wind Corridor. Let me tell you about my experience. Unlike some of the horror stories from republic (available on screen shots and youtube videos), Death Wind Corridor was not as bad. Sith didn't spawn camp us. We had a group of 25 or so players. Sounds pretty good right? Solid ops group, organization. Except we could not move away from our base. Meaning, we didn't have control of points, our valor farm was far worse than the valor farm available to Sith (having greater bonuses). This wasn't because we weren't as good players, it was because we were just outnumbered. But okay, everyone was able to do their dailies get some valor. Great. Not the worst situation. My only concern with this is, it took me about 60 hours from 50-60, I had not problem with that, I had a goal and I grinded it out. From streams and friends on Sith side, we learned that Sith was able to reach battlemaster far far faster than was available than day before. Instead of being measured in days, the ability to rank up valor was now measured in hours. The gear available to battlemasters is well, better than champion. This has further impacts on future pvp, warzones and Ilum. The reason I want a rollback is so that no one group gained an unfair advantage over another. Something that happened not because of skill, but because of numbers. Please not that by the time you logged on, much of the damage had already been done, and soon afterwards Bioware released a comment disabling taxiing. Btw, 15k per hour is insane. My valor per hour when grinding to battlemaster was about 4-5k. I hope there's a rollback to make the grind at least a bit more similar and the future pvp on an equal footing. Cinn, Jedi Sage Healer, Death Wind Corridor
  14. I believe you get the same amount of time the first team took to get to the core. This makes sense as if you take any longer time than that, you would lose.
