My wife and I and just about everyone we've met in the game so far are really enjoying SWTOR. Today I wasn't at home so, instead of playing, I was surfing the forums on my phone and was very surprised by how many negative posts there are. I don't understand why people would be so angry over bugs in a game that has only been live for 12 days. Out of boredom, I thought I'd add a happy thread because there just aren't enough of them.
Here's what me and the wife LOVE so far about SWTOR:
1) Story - OMG!!! I will probably play every class to 50. Immersive and addictive!
2) Flashpoints, and 2/4 Man Heroic Quests - We both have always loved grouping and raiding. The 1-40 leveling content for groups is easy, as it should be imo, and SO MUCH FUN! I like the social points system, I like that my wookie can tank when the wife and are are doing 2+ heroics, I like the group decisions in 4 mans, and I always like the lootz. lol
3) Space Missions - I do several of these every day, I love the flying missions and gearing up my ship, and I'm excited to see what they're adding.
4) Companions - Even corso is growing on me, rednecks ftw! lol It's really cool to have a companion whenever I'm soloing. Not only are they a cool part of the story, they're pretty powerful if you gear them up.
5) Crew Skills - OMG you mean I don't have to go grind up my gathering skills, I can just send a companion? Oh, and I can go do whatever I feel like while three of my many companions are hard at work back on the ship making me lootz to sell on the trade market? WIN!
6) Classes - I still haven't been able to decide what class or even what side to play. My Smuggler is lvl 41 and the wife and I have played 7 of the 8 to at least level 10 and all the stories are incredible, the talent trees and play styles are interesting, and the level 10 choice is SO hard (no mulligan.... /hands sweating).
What do you love???
Have a little faith in Bioware, they have a lot of experience and a long track record of success. Yes, there are bugs, such as ability delay and a clunky auction house, but keep in mind this is their first MMO and it just came out. I'm 100% sure that they want this game to be successful even more than we do. They have a lot riding on it, including $150MM and several years of their lives invested, and, for the core developers, this is also how they plan to make a living for the next several years. I'm sure they're working hard to address our concerns and I bet we'll see progress in every patch, which, by the way, are happening frequently.
