  1. Yup, I pretty much agree with the OP on this one.

The amount of speculation on the forums just recently about this has been insane. And worse of all, most of it has been from the 'Glass half empty' brigade, as I like to call them. The simple thing is that no-one here knows exactly what is going to be coming in the expansion. And I'm happy with that. I don't mind that EA/BioWare is keeping that information to themselves. It's up to them to decide when to release that information. The same as any other company who wants to announce a new product/service etc. Look at film trailers. A good trailer should give you a rough idea what's coming up in the film without giving too much away. It serves to peak your interest, not give you the whole story there and then.

For myself, I'm going to wait until we have more information on the whole thing before making up my mind. If I think it's worth my money, I'll buy it. If not, then I won't. Simple as that.

  2. Do you run Windows 7 or 8? If so, the next time it crashes, go to the start menu, and type in ‘Reliability History’. This will bring up a program which should tell you exactly why the game crashed. This is a good starting point to see what’s happening with your computer. If you’re unsure how to use it, click on the red circle with an exclamation mark in it, and double click on the report that comes up.

    Hope this helps!

  3. The Falcon was in a sorry state because Han Solo couldn't afford the upkeep and the thing was suffering because of it. Falcon wasn't anywhere near as good as it could've been. The Ebon Hawk, however, was well kept and upgraded the only reason we don't see it isn't because it didn't "survive", it's because it's whereabouts are Unknown after Meetra Surik used it to get to Dromund Kaas.

I was under the impression that the Falcon was supposed to look beat up. As Luke says in Episode IV: 'That heap of junk?!' (maybe not quite what he said, but you get what I mean :) )

No Stormtrooper/interferring Empire busybody would look at the ship and think it was one of the fastest spaceships in the galaxy.

Just my 2 Cents worth :)

  4. Pretty sure the fact that everything would be sellable in-game was announced around the same time f2p itself was. Heck, the lockout time has even been known for some time now.

That being said, I must admit I find it amusing people are trying to sell things that subs get for free, (i.e. cargo bay access and the like) for more credits than non-subs can even have. Probably because nowhere on the official site (that I can find) does it mention that non-subs have at best a 350k credit limit.

There you go. Hover your mouse over the triangles to get the information.

  5. Yup, I'm still enjoying playing.

I'm sure that the usual suspects will be flocking to the thread to tell us that we are wrong to like the game though

It's like a shark and blood in the water... they can spot a positive thread from miles away

  6. Hello!

As I understand it, once you have invited a friend, they will need to accept the invitation, then upgrade to a full account. They will then need to subscribe to the game for at least one billing cycle after their 30 free game days have passed. You will then get the speeder bike once their paid subscirption starts.

    Hope this helps! :)

  7. Harry Potter accidentally jumps to another time/place, becomes frustrated, joins the dark side. Luke, now an experienced Jedi Master played by a Edward Norton, kills him. I would pay sooo much.

Now we just need Disney to buy Harry Potter ;>

I would pay a stack of Dollar's that high to see that! :)

  8. Dust usually causes heat build up, which is never good for a computer.

Getting rid of if is fairly easy-take off the side of your computer case, and blow :)

You can get hold of cans of compressed air you can use to clean the dust away. If you have one, use one of those desktop USB vacumn cleaners, but be very careful that you don't touch any of the components if your using one.

  9. Weakest Character? Jar Jar Binks.

How many times did Jar Jar screw the pooch in number 1?

Then hands Palpatine the road to becoming the Emperor on a silver platter?

Way to go jar jar!

    +1.

The first time I heard that stupid whiny 'Meesir' voice, I wanted to punch him in the face THAT hard...

Every time I watch the PT now, I have to FF past his scenes. Thankfully you see less and less of him as the films go on.

  10. ANH was the first film I saw in the cinema. It's kinda hard to compare the wow factor then than it is now. ANH was released in the same year (I think) as 'Logan's Run'. The difference between the two is incredible even now, never mind when you saw TIE-Fighters against X-Wings for the first time.

And who can forget the first time they heard the words 'Luke, I am your father...'? Followed up by the Battle of Endor a few years after? The first time you saw Speeder Bikes? (and selective memory is making me forget the Ewoks...)

I can't think of a single instance in the new trilogy that made my jaw drop the way the original trilogy did.

I don't mind the new trilogy per say, but it's not the best acting, nor the best script... Seems to be held together with CGI glue..

  11. The way that I understand it, it is only free the play until lv 50, so you will create an account and its free to play until you are at lv 49.99999% and 1 xp point away from lv 50, but as soon as you get that next xp point you will be billed.

    Source?

I don't thinkl that BioWare/EA would introduce that as a feature. It states on the F2P FAQ that players on the F2P option will be able to level to level 50.

  12. According to the Star Wars Wiki, Imperial Speeder bikes, like the ones we are familiar with from RotJ, travel between 360-500km/h. Faster than a F1 car, and comparable to most domestic Jet planes.

As much as I'd like to move around the game faster from time to time, I don't want to have to worry about becoming a big splat against a wall somewhere either... :)

  13. Thanks for the clarification everyone!

I’ve never read any of the Star Wars novels (I know, shame on me), so I’ve only been able to go from the films regarding the Battle of Endor.

I’d forgotten about the Rebel fighters in the Battle of Endor, but I didn’t really get the impression that they made much of a difference in the film. Maybe that’s just me.

I’m guessing that we’ve all seen the ‘Family Guy’ Star Wars spoofs? I really like the way that they portray the Ewoks in that-almost like Hamsters, especially when they start to gnaw on the other dead Ewoks 

And Brian as Chewie with the AT-ST? Comedy gold.

  14. One thing that's always bothered me about the Battle of Endor was the way that the teddies, oh, sorry, Ewoks, beat the Stormtroopers.

I'm not entirely sure on this, but wasn't the Troop of Stormtroopers on Endor 'Vader's Fist'? ie a highly elite unit?

They may not have been expecting the Ewoks to attack, and I can see the parallel with modern war theaters (under armed local fighters taking on the military elite), but I'd say it's like the SAS or Delta Force being surrounded by local fighters. You'd have expected them to put up more of a fight, especially with the hardware superiority they had.

Though I can't see the logic in sending in two legged walkers into a environment such as a forest... that's just asking for trouble. :)
