Customer Support helped me and reset my characters name when it was incorrectly named. proof: http://imgur.com/VhWgo although i had to quit and relog into the game to get the name change, but thats no biggie. i got transferred, got 30 days free, got a sniper buff and got my name changed, thanks very much Bioware.

due to the way renaming system works, i named my 50 Sniper Sparkles, a name that i wanted my 50 sorcerer to be renamed, sine it was its name on the old server. I have not yet renamed my sorc. One solution would be to delete the Sniper, to free up the name, and rename my sorc and then get CS to restore my Sniper. this however is a move that I would be very apprehensive about doing, especially if CS cant restore my level 50 Sniper.

Try contacting support, they might be able to help you out if you explain your position.
