Except... SWTOR isn't amazing... I honestly have no idea how you guys are seeing SWTOR for anything beyond just plain old average.

Brilliant post. It just echoes all the thoughts I've had about the game and the genre as a whole ever since I touched the SWTOR beta. Personally. I would love an MMO where I could walk the world and just explore absolutely everything. Climb mountains, go down giant caves, walk through dark forests and ride across plains that seem to go on forever. Bioware and EA have gone so horribly safe with this game. They've done so little to expand the genre and the gaming experience that they've stuck almost entirely the 'WoW way' of doing things. It's why I've not only given up on this game but on the this particular way MMO's are being built. I'm currently waiting for TERA, Guild Wars 2 or Blade and Soul to see into the next generation of MMO gaming.

It can be done without meters. Me and my guild are doing it in raids now. I've done it in WoW for several months before DPS meters were introduced and I, along with many people, will continue to do so. If you need such a massive crutch then maybe games like this just aren't for you.

Being able to pinpoint issues within a raids DPS is something DPS meters should not be introduced to do. It simply brings with it too much drama/baggage. And people, are we forgetting the absolute poop storm that will erupt in the form of "Class A does 100 more DPS than my class! Why is that?! I want to do the same or more DPS!". It just isn't worth it. An MMO without such a massive crutch will just breed better players. Please don't give in, Bioware. I beg of you.

My thoughts exactly. One person makes a complaint about some minor thing and almost all proceeding posts are insults/derogatory remarks towards the OP. For a community who wishes to call themselves mature, that's just disgusting behaviour. You know who you are!

That can be forced through the CCC on ATi cards and it works wonders. At least it did for me in the beta. Using a 4870 btw.

The OP is stating only logic. Bioware/EA's pay cheques are coming from paying customers. Stop alienating your customers and keep them in the loop or they won't be so inclined to fork over their cash. Customer service 101.
