  1. This would make conquest feel more like a conquest.
  2. Actually there were 4 new flash points forming the 3 part Forged Alliances story line that came with 2.7, 2.9 and 2.10. So, there was definitely PvE content in there. The first two coming at the same time as the quesh huttball in 2.7. You may argue whether those constitute PvE content, but you can agree that they are not PvP content. Just as many of the patch notes (if not more) revolve around PvE than PvP because simply more of the game is about PvE. The class balancing bounces between the two. The remade skill trees is a debate-able topic of whether it benefited PvPers or not. People tend to be split regarding hybrids.
  3. Google swtor dulfy for guides on basic gearing and rotations. Otherwise play what you enjoy except I would recommend not taking the marauder or merc into arenas/ranked. Still doable in regs if you know what you are doing.
  4. Some interesting stuff. Sounds like have a server similar to the test server where you "copy" toon(s) over to a unique server that will participate in the ranked season. Your original toon(s) remain on origin server to do other things (regs, ops, etc) as normal. The "season ranked" server would be only for ranked matches (flashpoint/ops areas locked, no CS gathering boxes, etc) between teams from all different servers. Kind of a work around of the cross server problem. This has potential.
  5. Might want to double check your math, but 9+4.5+4.5= 18 not 10 and doesn't include the cast time for orbital strike. 18 seconds is 3x force storm now so OS+SF+SF = 16,199 dmg while 3x force storm=18,750 making force storm stronger by 2,551. The Sniper/Slinger is pretty much out of energy and the Sorc/Sage has barely touched their force pool due to how the 2 pools regen and such. The pool regen means that you cannot spam SF as much as FS in fact it only takes 5 SF to completely deplete the energy pool while 5 FS spammed is not even half of the force pool. This is because of the differences in how the two pools regen.
  6. There is a big difference between someone who is new and gets globaled while trying to work with the group (a newb) and someone who stands back/cloaks out and does nothing during the match or runs headlong into the other team and gets globaled without firing a shot.
  7. Just ridiculous. I know there is video of a number of your team ranked matches on twitch that shows they weren't win trades. The majority of people on Pot5 knows this is BS and that your wins are legit.
  8. The last event meaning the Gree event? Guess what, you went into an open world pvp area and chose to be open to pvp. Other than the rez'ing a player flag simply don't AoE if you are that bothered by being flagged or switch instances allowing you to pick up where you left off exactly except without the "griefer" (I don't disagree that some people are jerks about it). Otherwise it is all about awareness. Server pop is why there is a difference in loads. Specifically, a number of PvP'ers moved to PvE servers due to server population. Some people went where there were more people and chance for shorter queue times. Simple population of a type of server does not constitute popularity of a portion of the game.
  9. Guess we will find out something shortly based on Eric's recent post, but most people's complaints about griefers revolved around those known, repeated to leave a match right before the start timer ends making the team short and those who simply leave the cloning area and do nothing else or cloak out and do nothing. That's more of what I understand for "refuse to participate".
  10. Computer data wouldn't tell the effort without looking deep into the information. In the warzone you see someone who quits the match right as the timer expires forcing you to fight a 3v4 for that first round is one of the indicators for a griefer. Win trading can be noticed by someone who immediately runs out and into the other team getting globaled immediately. Maybe they fired an auto attack, maybe not. There is always the /stuck method that has been reported by others. Sometimes this is just a bad or ignorant player, but in ranked matches that doesn't seem as likely because you do have to choose to queue up for ranked vice regs. It isn't so much playing badly that indicates, but the lack of playing. That's part of the reason there is a report and research function. Can BW/EA be effective at rooting out true win traders from simply really good or really bad players? Honestly, probably not that much. Griefing is another story entirely.
  11. The facts show that they are not able to conclusively prove that someone is involved in win trading. We know from this thread that at least 2 really good teams received warnings for what amounts to being legitimately really good at team ranked.
  12. How many people are upset about being warned for the actual offense of win trading or griefing? None. However, at least 2 legit and highly capable teams have been warned for being really good and beating the vast majority of their challengers. There is video evidence that there was no win trading occurring with these really good teams. That is the backlash going on. Good teams are being warned and basically penalized for being really good in a competition. Luckily, the first step was a warning for these teams even though they don't deserve it. At a cursory glance, it is indistinguishable between real win traders and really good teams. The analysts have to look deeper into the data which they did not do.
  13. Simple awareness can prevent you from being "flagged" for PvP on a PvE server. Little things like the character running around with name in YELLOW, don't shoot or you will be flagged. Manage AoEs if you see someone around with name in yellow. Switch instances or just don't use AoEs and you will be fine. I played on a PvE server for a couple months before 3.0 and never had an issue with being flagged for PvP if I didn't want to PvP. In PvE operations, flashpoints, etc, you can vote kick someone for whatever reason, but in PvP warzones the offender just needs to do something, anything to prevent a vote kick. That something could be as simple as putting a bubble or shield on. Helps no one, you still aren't doing anything really and you are affecting at least 3 other players. You can't stop them from queing or control whether you get grouped with them except by not queing yourself which significantly affects your enjoyment of the game. There are already multiple ways to toggle out of PvP in the open world with the first and best one being open your eyes and pay attention. Don't AoE everything, don't AoE around the yellow colored names, switch instances, time out for 5 minutes to reset flag, and simple awareness are all ways to control the PvP flag in open world.
  14. What about the ones being falsely accused like Caprica and his team? Kind of a piss poor way to treat someone promoting team ranked and excelling as a team.
  15. I have watched numerous matches with Caprica and the Hakuna Matata team, in team ranked, live through streams on twitch.tv (probably still have videos on there from their past matches). If 2-3 hard fought, back and forth, to the timer/gas, rounds for multiple matches is win trading then they are doing it and I am fine with that. From what I saw and heard listening to the opposing team fight them, there is no way possible that win trading was involved. It literally boils down to the Hakuna Matata team being the best ranked team on the Pot5 server currently. They don't need to win trade because they beat pretty much everyone who challenges them, but those matches are definitely well competed as well. It is absolutely ridiculous that a team can legitimately excel and still be accused of win trading simply because (probably) there are only a couple teams who regularly queue for team ranked.
  16. It honestly helps narrow down the issue by cutting out other factors that have not caused it. You have seen this bug and apparently a lot while I have not seen it at all. This allows developers to try and zero in on what might be causing it. Who knows? could be f2p people in group that cause it to bug. No idea. Most are trying to help with what they have seen cause and correct it.
  17. Just roleplay, something to do, and a little boredom rolled together. I rarely run with a healing companion myself so it wouldn't be such an issue. I would totally jettison Quinn's doucheyness for Dorne, to use your example, just because.
  18. Should link this to a high level of Legacy or even the companions available to fire/hire being linked to a legacy level with 10 being the lowest level moving up to 50 (max legacy).
  19. Probably #2, but also, think about how many people probably bought the lifetime sub played 1-3 months and quit the game. In those instances Turbine made out. In instances like me they lost a lot of money. Yeah, front loading the cash influx wasn't a bad idea to boost sellability.
  20. Not trying to discount your information or intent, just that the argument will be waged that there were 4 arenas between PvE content and then QHB later. Does that indicate that more PvP should be on the way? Sure, but PvP is not a priority for the developers.
  21. Lord of the Rings Online did lifetime memberships at the start. They went f2p later on with their own marketplace. They retained monthly, etc subscription plans too. Definitely not as many people playing it as in the first 2 yrs, but as a lifetime member I still go back and play it from time to time. Get free coins for the market every month and only ever have to pay for expansions when they come out. It is a good model, but I think this really has to start from the beginning for most. It was $200 almost 7 yrs ago now and many people don't have the ability to drop that much plus the $50 (or more for the game) right at one time.
  22. Just a suggestion that could bring a layer of content to the game utilizing companions. An ability to "reassign" companions to different characters. You could basically choose which companions you want associated with which characters by "firing/releasing" them one character and "hiring" them on another. This has a lot of role play to it and definitely will not be something for everyone. Just think: Juggernaut "Wrath of the Emperor/Empire" running with Lord Scourge former Wrath of the Emperor. Bringing Jaesa or Ashara back to the light side or bringing Kira back to the Children of the Emperor. Tanno Vik's story is less Havoc Squad and more Bounty Hunter or Smuggler. Rusk joining Havoc Squad. Dorne returning to the Empire. Converting Xalek to the light side of the force. Just some examples based on RP. You would have to have unlocked the companion on the original before being able to do this. Once "fired" they would default to the starter planets' cantina where you could interact with them and "hire" them on. This may require some story building and possibly some voicing which costs money, but would build in some replayable content especially for RPers.
  23. Done this a number of different ways. Balanced bring down the two, concentrating on Coratanni until leaves and then burning Pearl, burning Pearl to 20% ish and then pushing Coratanni. Pretty much every week clearing this Op and never had this bug. I was actually surprised when they cancelled the speed runs because of it as I had not experienced any buggy issues with 8m SM Ravagers.
  24. You forgot the arenas. They technically count as PvP warzone content.
  25. I am available most nights 8-11pm EST except Wednesday and Saturday.
