  1. Thank you for getting back to me. My tactics build I guess is irrelevant at this stage. I'm only looking to cut my losses as it seems iv mindlessly bought gear without regards to my tree. I want to do great dps and I need a build that will suite both pvp and pve. Keep in my mind this is what I'm currently geared in. PvP=War hero Combat tech helm, chest, gloves, boots War hero Eliminator=belt, wrist. Battle master eliminator weapon and offhand. I really don't want to grind anymore to change my gear how can I salvage this mess and do great dps? what gear needs to absolutely change and what can I manage with for the assault spec you mentioned. For Pve I have Rakata Combat tech, helm, chest, legs, gloves, boot. Rakata Eliminator weapon, offhand, belt and black hole med-tech wrist. Again I just don't have the time to grind for the proper gear so how can I put a positive spin on the gear and what has to go and what can stay to maximize dps in the assault tree. I took no offensive what so ever I'm completely at your mercy here and desperate to salve this mess of a vanguard.
  2. Guys I will pay ingame cash or RL cash I Really could use some help with my vanguard. Name a price send me a phone number and we can discuss payment options, but yeah Im that DESPERATE!
  3. Hey guys I'm ripping out my hair here trying to figure out a good dps build for my vanguard as well as what kind of war hero and rakata gear I should be wearing. I'm currently a tactics build and I'm not really liking the dps output. As far as gear I've got full rakata combat tech expect of course for the belt, bracer offhand, and weapon which is eliminator. PVP wise I have full war hero combat tech expect for the bracers and belt which is eliminator. So what I'm asking is how can I salvage this vanguard to do max dps and what sets should I be wearing for pvp and pve? Do I have it right or am I totally blowing it? I'm looking to cut my losses as best as possible specially on the pvp gear as its going to take a long grind to get the proper gear.
  4. Best Shadow Tanking PvP build strong in group as well as solo PvP. You can also solo PvE easily with your healer companion as well. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#601bIMokrskZZf0cRrMz.1
  5. Tier three 50 PvP set has the purple lightsaber.
  6. Thanks, good catch. That's a pretty bad mistake I made, it should be 2 points in Jedi Resistance. Like this - http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#601bIMokrskZZf0cRrMz.1 Also I will try get back to streaming asap, but I've been needed to raid and until I get the green light I can't stream raid content yet.
  7. Hey everyone, I'm Krazer from the guild Condemned on the Port Nowhere server. I'll be streaming mostly Warfront PvP/World PvP as well as 8/16 man Operations once I get the green light. In between matches I'll try my best to answer any questions you guys have. I've been PvPing through multiple MMOs; Rift and Aion have been the 2 most recent, as well as lots in the past. Right now I don't have a set schedule for streaming, however I will be sure to get one up as soon as my guild has the raid content on farm and we are using set raid times. I will be PvPing most of the day as I grind to rank 65 etc in the meantime. Also I cannot always stream vent and do play by plays, but once I buy a USB headset in the next couple days I will give live commentary. Hope you guys enjoy. http://www.twitch.tv/cnd_krazer# If you have any feedback on my stream whether it's music/quality feel free to let me know. Offline
  8. 31 Infiltrator is perfectly viable at 50. I haven't played it substantially enough to give all the details however the build has very good sustained damage, good survivabilility and good utility with interrupts/taunts. Smuggler has higher burst damage imo, but is pretty much a glass cannon that is useless when dead. Whereas the Shadow can sit on a healer and force him out of the fight or outright kill him if left alone and will survive to continue the fight with his team. Shadow also makes a excellent peeler for his healer with taunts/interrupts/snares. If you have a Grooveshark account I'm pretty sure you can search my playlist just go to search and type in "Anime Tunes" and near the bottom right there should be a list of playlists with similar names. Just filter by authors and look for Cameron Kral. Good to hear. Thanks for the response. Also stream is online now, started a bit later because I forgot to subscribe and had some annoying issues. Edit: Actually stream will be offline for a bit while I test some things will be back asap.

  10. In simplest terms Shadows are shield/mitigation tanks, while JK are armor/hp tanks. I haven't done much PvE tanking, but I've done enough to know that Shadows struggle on holding more AoE threat in instances when there needs to be CCd mobs during the pull, since your aoe threat spam does damage it will break CC. Other than that my guild currently uses a Shadow MT on raids and I offtank sometimes. However I have extremely limited experience in PvE tanking mostly all PvP so I wouldn't feel right saying too much on this subject. Also I have not played the other tanking classes.
  11. - As a PvP Tank I'm using the survivor set which has default tanking stats such as shield absorb - endurance - shield rating - defense rating. However you can switch the mods in the pvp gear with other ones so I'm thinking of crafting a crit - endurance - shield defense set. Since the level 400 artifice has tons of different mods that really let you customize. Crit chance will help me proc the mindcrush talent in balance. - double strike until particle acceleration procs > project (repeat) - Mind Crush whenever Force Strike procs try to use it when you need to regen force since it costs none but used a GCD - Spinning Slash on squishies at 30% hp or 10-15% on Tanks. Use Force in Balance only when there is no objectives around for you to save with it, if not use it every time it's off CD because it's internal damage and hits very hard, also try to prioritize groups. Everything else is pretty much more situational. I only use force potency when I'm burning down healers or in 1v1s etc. Also I'm pretty tired while writing this so I hope this still helps. - PvE only yes, would be very OP in PvP lol XD. - You're not gaining any more survivability by going higher in Kinetic so it is as tanky in PvP as you can be. However since you don't need to go higher for PvP you can branch into balance for just amazing utility and lots of extra damage. Shadow tanks are the best tank for PvP imo. However I have not played the other tanking classes but I play with level 50 guildmates a lot etc. The utility is too much and you do a absurd amount of damage for a full tank. And yes you're DPS is comparable to DPS builds, however you do not have much burst just really good sustain, and since you are not dying often you can really get in and do damage for the chart lol.
  12. Happens frequently while raiding, or doing WZs. Can almost never land a shadow strike as Shadow. zz
  13. Really glad you're enjoying the stream my man. Here's the link to my build on Torhead http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#601bIMokrskZZf0cRrMz.1 I mostly use Grooveshark to play my music, and I also have some youtube playlists. I usually listen to lots of Japanese oriented music, Tohou Rock, and I also have lot's of traditional or mainstream music. Oh the Full Metal alchemist: Brotherhood OST and Gurren Lagann OSTs too.
  14. Online - I can't give too much of a in depth strategy until I play my guildmates Sage and actually learn the rotation etc. However even without playing one myself I know Kinetic/Balance Shadows are the counter to Sorcs/Sages at level 50. You have so many interrupts/knockdowns to interrupt their casts, as well as many tank cds coupled with trinkets to survive any damage they try throw back. At lower levels I can see why Sorcs can give people trouble, but believe me tank shadows are the sorc bane at 50.
  15. Yes I have tried it quite a bit. Personally I dislike it when doing WFs or any 8v8s or smaller. You can still be interrupted by any kinds of knockback or CC, it's only immune to the actual interrupt skill. The way WFs are set up means everyone is knocking back constantly and I almost never get off a full cast of telekinetic throw to receive the benefit. However for large scale world PvP I would find it more useful, but imo 23 Kinetic and 18 Balance is by far the best build for every kind of PvP tanking. It really pales in comparison to being able to set 18 points in balance. Force strike is a lot of free DPS and containment is just too amazing for pulling off any kind of clutch situation in PVP. Edit: Even in solo PvP I would not recommend it since anyone who knows the skill icons will knock you back as soon as they see you casting with the buff on yourself. Imo it's a PvE only skill.

  17. The smuggles role is essentially a single target burst or healer killer/disrupter. Unfortunately at level 19 your options/utility is extremely limited, as you level your class will start to flesh out with more defining abilities. Always be aware of obstacle locations. Never ever position yourself between a enemy and a acid pit/flame trap or else you run the risk of being knocked into it. Search for healers or low hp targets and finish them with your burst. Just stay away from traps. Later on you will get vantages and other escape CDs which you will use to escape focus fire. I'm not sure of what smugglers are limited to at 19 ability wise so I can't give you any rotations or use this at X time. I group with a 50 smuggler a lot and he has the most single target burst of any class I have seen. However his long term sustained DPS is low, but as a tank myself and him will just focus down healers and other squishes etc etc. I'm sorry I can only give some basic advice for now, but I have not played a smuggler myself so I can't give rotations etc.
  18. This would be another of the many "obvious" changes I'm surprised they have not implemented for launch. I hope they are able to add a "Disable smart cam" option or similar option ASAP.
  19. Keep in mind you can interrupt capping by damage and don't need to CC. So the invulnerability to CC wouldn't change much. However you make an excellent point which needs to be taken into account if they do change it.

    lvl 50 pvp gear

To acquire Centurion gear - Purchase the Champion bags which cost 200/200. These bags give you 3 Centurion tokens which you use to buy pieces from the vendor. You also have a chance to get a glyph for Champion gear. To acquire the Champion gear - There's a "chance" a glyph of a piece will drop from the Champion bags, then you take the glyph and turn it in at the Champion vendor for the piece you want. Also Champion tokens drop from the Battlemaster bags which you can turn in for gear too. (The name of the bag is kinda misleading and not the best system imo.) To acquire the Battlemaster - Complete the "Weekly" PvP quests to get a Battlemaster bag which has a chance to give you a glyph for a piece of battlemaster gear. (You cannot open these bags until you are valor rank 60 and you can only hold 1 in your inventory/bank at the same time. (These bags also give Champion tokens to buy champion gear too.) I don't believe I've missed anything, from everything I've checked those are the only way. I've also already acquired a lot of pieces myself. I hope this helps. Edit: TLDR; Champion bags are bought with commendations, give a chance for Champion pieces and give Centurion tokens. Battlemaster bags are given through "weekly" PvP quests, give Champion tokens and a chance for Battlemaster pieces.
  21. I would agree that it should be a 4 second immune CC on top of the original break. Like other's have pointed out other MMO's use a similar system such as Rift, and I believe Aion as well. Rift had the same problem at launch and they added 4 seconds to the immunity. So I expect Bioware will follow a similar route.
